  1. After searching locally for diff models I finally bought a Nikon D5100 with 8GB Card and carry bag, from Snapdeal. This was the cheapest deal available online and offline too. Bought it for 27072. But within few hours of my purchase I noticed that it was available on eBay.in for Rs 26182.

Now planning to take some photography course to learn the tricks and tips of photography and other technicalities.

Thank you everyone for their valuable input.

  2. Thank you everyone for your valuable input. Today I visited Reliance Digital store to have a look and feel of the cameras. I was about to finalize Nikon D3200 with stock 18-55 lens but the store guy there suggested me to check Sony Alpha A58 and I was impressed with the features. It has better shooting speed, motorized body and live view of the photographs (show exact photo as it will look after clicking, whereas Nikon lacks it). He told me that I may have made my choice but after checking out features of Sony S58 I will have to reconsider my decision :(

And here I am confused again as after comparing on internet sites are giving preference to Nikon where as I liked Sony a bit more. So I am looking for all your expert advice again :signthankspin:

  3. Rajan bhai and all friends

I am planning to buy a dslr. Being totally novice in photography I would need your suggestions and any deals for the camera. One of my friend suggested me that no matter which model I buy I must make sure to go for at least 18-55 and 55-250 lenses as without them my purchase would be incomplete.

My budget would be around 25-30K (Being a noob I would not like to spend much but will go with your suggestions :-) ).

Please share if there are any deals available. Few deals which I came through of Canon 1100D and Nikon D3100:

  4. ^^^ Thanks Hitesh bhai for explaining the steps. I tried these steps multiple times but still my bootloader screen on my HTC Evo 4G LTE says **Tempered** and S-On.

When I run these commands from command prompt on my Windows 7 PC. After executing the last command, control comes back to command prompt. But phone goes into qhusb mode (as explained in the terms and conditions that come up after executing last command). Is that the reason due to which I am not able to complete the process.

Can any one please help me to find what am I doing wrong.

I have verified and cross-checked the prerequisites and I am not missing anything here :

    1. Chcek:Working adb on your PC. Yes, that means OS X, linux, Windows, etc. are all supported.
      • HTC drivers installed and working
      • HTC sync removed (not closed – REMOVED)
      • All other phone software removed or disabled (Samsung Kies, PDANet, etc.)
    2. Check, wifi:A working internet connection ON YOUR DEVICE - wifi, 3g, 4g, etc. are all supported.
    3. Check: USB debugging enabled on your device
    4. Done, HTCDev unlocked and rooted:Your device must be HTCDEV unlocked/rooted or have a working temproot. A temproot that works with many modern (not all) HTC devices is provided below.
    5. Do not attempt to run firewater from a terminal emulator on your device. You MUST use adb along with a PC.
    6. A supported device. firewater *should* work with most modern HTC devices, including (but not limited to) the htc one, droid dna, one s, one max, and many others.

  6. Has anyone seen or heard about the portable travel electric kettle which has only 250/300ml capacity(roughly two cups). Most showrooms which keep branded ones are minimum 500ml which isn't compact enough.

I don't care whether it's Chinese or no name, it's just that years ago I have used it in Delhi and now desperately seeking for my traveling.

You may try this link, I think it is compact than regular one.

Sandeep bhai, babaji's basic requirement is "compact size" having capacity of 1-2 cups at most. But the link you shared is of an electric kettle of 800ml capacity.

Baba Jee pls check this link

Although it has a car charger and you have to get it modified as per your usage.

  7. PS - Always had a bad experience at the NOIDA Reliance store. Any other RW in Delhi area where the executives are better informed (or open to solving problems instead of passing on the buck)?

You can go to this WW and contact Amit Jain who is a fellow Rimwebian too :)

  9. :hypocrite: I am not being sarcastic but your questions show that you have read very less in this forum..

I am trying to answer your questions here (fellow members: please add/update if I miss something)

    1. Is it possible to use such phones in a different country

Yes offcourse because ESN is being declared bad in originating country only in this case US.

    2. If one can use it in a different country would that only apply to Global phones or any CDMA device

Global phones means the phones, that could be used on both GSM as well as CDMA network, could be used either by unlocking the GSM or by registering the MEID with CDMA service provider.

    3. Is it even possible to get the MEID registered with a CDMA carrier in India for such phones

    Yes

    4. If its a Global phone with Bad ESN, can it be used for both CDMA and GSM or only GSM

    Yes both

  10. Thanks everyone for replying...

@Rajan Ji - Yes my wife is working in a Bank and camera phones are strictly not allowed there. And now she is also yearning for an android phone.

@Raju - I am also thinking in that direction, yesterday "Amit Jain" gave me this idea that we can remove the camera module from the phone and remove the camera apk then cover the camera hole :) with a black tape or something else ;-)

    ******************

@KTD - O yeaaaahhhh sir please ask your friend to share the pics. I will PM me my mail id to you.

Thank you so much :) :)

@Ashish - A red flag has been issued to me by my wife - but if I won't get any favorable handset then there is no other way to wait :(
