  1. A global mode S3 would be awesome.

Excuse my ignorance folks, but is there any specific reason why we are checking out Sprint devices most of the time and not Verizon ones given both are CDMA? Is it because Verizon unlocking is a hard nut to crack?

  2. One of the better settings toggle alternative in the app market - Quick settings, does not support ICS devices.

Did you have a look in the revamped Settings menu where the toggle for wifi and bluetooth have been reorganized and is now conveniently positioned at the top? It seems to get the job done.

  3. As planned, Sony is now rolling out its Android 4.0.4 ICS update for the Xperia Neo, Xperia Arc, Xperia Pro, Xperia Pro Mini, Xperia Mini, Xperia Active and Live with Walkman. This is a follow up to the ICS upgrade that it recently rolled out to the Xperia Ray, Xperia Arc S, and Xperia Neo V.

That’s 10 upgraded phones - that were released in 2011 - within a month. It’s a shame that other manufacturers aren’t following in Sony’s admirable footsteps.

  4. Sony Xperia U

    Official Product page - here

    Key Specs -

    • 3.5 inch screen with 480 x 854 pixel resolution,
    • 512 MB RAM,
    • 1GHz Dual-Core processor coupled with Mali-400MP GPU.

    • 5MP primary / VGA front facing camera
    • Launching with Android 2.3 GB but Sony promises an update to ICS.
    • 1320 mAh Li-Ion battery

  5. @ Amit, The manufacturer's tint on windows and windshields of Cars, at the time of delivery will definitely adhere with the permissible level of tint. This is allowed and will not be penalized. Vehicle owners, who have added tint to stock windows and windshields after purchasing their vehicles will invite fine and have to remove them.

Vehicles will be allowed to have sun films with 70 per cent visual light transmission (VLT) for front and rear windscreens, and 50 per cent VLT for side glasses, under Rule 100 of Central Motor Vehicles Rule, 1989.

Source : Got my Santro's tint reduced last week and went through the fine print ;)

  6. Saurav, shift to Chrome or Firefox for a faster and overall better user experience. The ads you mentioned appearing in web pages can be blocked by add-ons and extension features offered by these browsers.

    In Google Chrome, install AdBlock

With Firefox you would need Adblock Plus add-on.

There are other alternatives like Adsweep and Flashblock but I found the above to do a more effective job.

  7. HTC has updated information on which devices are receiving Ice Cream Sandwich and when.

The HTC Rezound, HTC EVO 3D, HTC Rhyme and HTC Desire S will be updated by July. Other models such as the HTC ThunderBolt and HTC DROID Incredible 2 will be updated to Android 4.0 in the last days of August.

Interestingly HTC says that handsets with 512MB or less of RAM will not be getting updated which means no ICS goodness for the HTC ChaCha, HTC Salsa, HTC Wildfire S, HTC Explorer and others.
