Remeber that Airtel chief Sunil Mittal had once said that the company has not initiated any tariff war with the launch of per-second billing and is merely responding to the market needs. QUOTE: “The tariff war has not been launched by us. We responded as we did not have a choice. We have always said we will never lead the price war, but responding to the needs of the market is something that every sector and industry has to do, ”

Why isnt TRAI taking any action against forced/unwarrented deductions?? Its prevailing so widespeard and there is so much complaint!

hey! i may be out of context but Reliance GSM deducted 90rs from my prepaid accounts in the last 30 days alone. Do a bit of Google'ing and you will see that it is widespeard. Almost like a scam :/ also it takes anywhere between 3-10 retries before the call get connected. So much for waitng for their launch and lapping up on the very first day it was made available here (tvm, kerala).

The lowest tariff provied by the operators which is around 30p/min for local calls (for the record, still lower is the Pay Per Call offer of Indicom which provides 1re/10min which effectively translates to 10p/min) sounds so unfeasible over a long term. They are still paying 20p per minute as call termination charges for off-net calls! Also the CDMA operators lags far behind their GSM operators in new subscriber additions so there is not much 'volume' as well. In this scenario the tariffs are bound to be revised upwards sooner or later :(
