  1. Really a very good move..... It's important to integrate NE & JK as normal states in our union instead of treating them with special lens just due to security reasons. Special treatments only alienates them instead of bringing them together with rest of our union.
  2. TRAI, DoT spar over cancellation of licences source :: http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/article2048576.ece
  3. RCOM has surprised almost everyone on earth with its crusade on 3G. RCOM has reached 333 cities/towns in HSDPA coverage. They claim it has blanket coverage in each of those cities/towns. http://www.rcom.co.in/Rcom/personal/3G/HTML/index.html RCOM has the finest and the widest 3G coverage in India covering 520 cities/towns in EVDO and 333 cities/towns in HSDPA. Kudos to them for such a stupendous feat...... March ahead RCOM...we're with you.....  source :: http://telecomtalk.info/reliance-3g-now-in-63-cities-of-madhya-pradesh-and-chhattisgarh/67745/

  5. Purulia Expose: India's best kept secret source :: http://www.timesnow.tv/Purulia-Expose-Indias-best-kept-secret/articleshow/4371689.cms This is the most disturbing news I've ever heard in my life. An union government destabilizing elected state govt through foreign intelligence agency involving arms. State of law & order in WB could have been the worst at the time. There are few WB members in the forum who can throw light on the state's condition then. Even if we take the law & order to be worst, elections were totally rigged, there are many ways in which union govt could have intervened. Using a foreign agency to arm the people against the elected state govt is totally unimaginable...... It's just blatant murder of democracy..... India needs an answer from the Govt whether allegations are true. If it's true then conspirators should be brought to justice. It's totally heinous to hide the facts by classifying the documents as secret when our nation's founding principle of democracy was mortgaged to a foreign agency to further certain persons' hidden agenda. Why can't we assume that it's a planned move by Britain (supported in background by USA) to remove the communist govt in an Indian state???? Was Britain still deciding then who has to rule which state even after 48 years of Independence?? The most atrocious part is that the arms were loaded in Karachi, Pakistan. It clearly shows nexus between USA-UK-PAK-India(USA leaning parties like Congress,BJP) Govts to ensure that all the elected communist governments were brought down in India in one way or the other. If you look at the Govts involved like UK-PAK-India at that time, all are USA inclined Govts. It's most surprising to know that neither PAK Govt nor Indian Govt were able to detect a flight fully loaded with ammunition crossing from one country to another when these countries are the most confronted arch rivals. Looks like enemies(read as PAK and India) have become friends to fight for their friend's(read as USA) enemy(read as communism).
  6. In a stupendous move, DoT initiates the formation of NOFN(National Optic Fibre Network). DoT sets up an Advisory Body under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble MOC&IT to advise on implementation issues and upstream i.e. with core and downstream i.e with access layer integration as well as on issues relating to non-discriminatory access of the National Optical Fiber Network (NOFN). http://dot.gov.in/RFD/advisory_body.pdf DoT sets up a High Level Committee(HLC) under the Co-Chairmanship of Shri Sam Pitroda, Adviser to PM on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovations and Shri Nandan Nilekani, Chairman UIDAI to steer and coordinate all activities related to the creation, implementation and management of the National Optical Fiber Network (NOFN). http://dot.gov.in/RFD/hlc_order.pdf Kudos to DoT & Kapil Sibal  :cheer:
  7. TRAI says "there is no justification for rejecting a porting request on the ground that premium number or vanity number has been given to the customer as the numbering resource is allocated free of charge by the Licensor, who is the owner of the numbering resource and, therefore, the service providers are not justified in putting any condition for retaining premium numbers/vanity numbers under the garb of contractual obligation" Hence, TRAI directs service providers 'not to reject a request for porting of a mobile number (a)if outstanding payment due from the subscriber, in the previous paid bill is less than Rs. 10 which the service provider may include in the subsequent bill of the subscriber without any penal charges; and (b)on the ground of subsisting contractual obligation except in the case of,-- the postpaid connection with bundled handset with contractual obligation having exit clause and the subscriber has not compiled with the same; and corporate connection with contractual obligation having exit clause and the subscriber has not compiled with the same ' http://www.trai.gov.in/WriteReadData/trai/upload/Directives/146/Direction_page.pdf Kudos to TRAI
  8. MTS to offer 14.7 Mbps speeds through CDMA dongles source :: http://telecomyatra.afaqs.com/news/?sid=2314_MTS+to+offer+14.7+Mbps+speeds+through+CDMA+dongles Kudos to MTS  MTS is the only operator to have clear roadmap of 3G progress on CDMA highway.
  9. @vista_roy, is it FTTH?? Do they've fiber all across Hyderabed??
  10. They claim it to be on FTTH(Fiber to the Home) technology. Quite unbelievable!!!! I feel there's something hidden..... :detective:
  11. India Waged War Against West Bengal

As the WB poll results clearly shows there's absolutely no favor to CPI(M) due to the breaking of Purulia arms drop secrets. Certain quarters in the political circles and media tried to corner this issue by questioning the timing of breaking this news. As I've said earlier it's has absolutely nothing to do WB elections. That stand has been vindicated through poll results. It's time for central govt to realize this issue is far more serious than temporary issues like elections and results. This issue breaks the foundation of our democracy. If the truth is not investigated and brought to the view of public, our country will be doomed. We'll not be too far from the happenings similar to Abbottabad(Pakistan) where foreign agencies will have free hand deep inside our borders. It's imperative upon Mamata to take up issue immediately with central Govt to bring justice to the people of WB whose democratically elected Govt was then planned to be overthrown by foreign agency(in collusion with then central Govt).
  12. A very important question at very important time...... Unfortunately, Kabil Sibal is unable to wake up the sleeping Defense minister A.K.Antony to release the spectrum. Anyway, A.K.Antony has holy reason of Kerala election to defend his laziness of last 3 months....
  13. Minimum expected out of Cartel. That's goal and sole purpose of such cartel formation... :Contento: The most atrocious part is that cartel's view will only be propagated through our hopeless paid media....... Our idiotic media will try with all its might to paint TRAI as an inefficient regulator to please their financiers/bosses.... :'( :'( :'( Hope it'll help our fellow members to understand the hostile environment under which our regulator(TRAI) is working....
  14. DoT plans auctions to net Rs 80,000 cr source :: http://www.mydigitalfc.com/news/dot-plans-auctions-net-rs-80000-cr-266
  15. Not really.... Retail payments at POS(Point of Sale):: IMPS may not be good option for retail payments since it ivolves asking and entering recepient's MMID & mobile number. Quite time consuming at retail point of sale. I think for retail payments at POS, NFC is the solution...NFC does not waste time at retail point of sale.... Fund transfers and Remote sales:: For fund transfers and remote payments, IMPS is the solution. All your fund transfers to your family, relatives & friends can immediately be switched to IMPS. IMPS is instantaneous even across banks and can be done while you're on the move. All you need is just the recipient's MMID & mobile number.
  16. Dual Mode 3G Handsets

After BB 9630/9650/9930, Motorola Droid Pro/Droid 2 Global, Ivio Twilight 7, HTC DROID Incredible 2/7 Trophy now I've to add Blackberry Storm2 9550 in the list... Out of all the phones in the list, only Ivio Twilight 7 is OMH based.... Literally, RIM is running a crusade for dual-mode 3G handsets. If it adds OMH functionality to these handsets it'll be an icing on the cake.

  22. TRAI's Call for Papers on "Regulatory Framework for Cloud Computing” http://www.trai.gov.in/CallForPapers.asp Cloud computing poses major threat to national security and individual's privacy. It's highly important that TRAI brings about regulations before cloud computing spreads across rapidly......
  23. I second what @anandjm said completely on post#7....+1 for you... Absolutely, we don't have any necessity to copy something from western world which is totally tuned and more often purposely skewed to exploit other countries. I also agree to @dipanlahiri statement on "adopting to our scenario". It's whole purpose of this consultation after all.... Nobody stops anybody from submitting cloud_report_final.pdf document as his suggestion to TRAI. All stakeholders will tear open the inefficiencies in those regulations and would help to bring meaningful regulations which suits our own interests. As @Rajan says consultation is wider, it's just not only on security and privacy. @anandjm, The issue of security lies mainly due to the reason that the fort is owned and manned by our friend Brutus. It's better not to park our secrets there......
  24. Samsung Infuse 4G

If I'm correct, this one is the world's first 21 Mbps HSDPA phone.....
  25. How individual privacy is compromised? , you've already explained with examples of facebook, gmail, skype etc.,. With cloud, you further magnify that problem by moving entire private desktop into servers. How national security is compromised? Defense subcontractors are trusted and verified Indian SMEs/Corporates. In case, any of these SMEs use cloud for economical reasons the security is compromised. Corporates normally have their data centers maintained by multinational IT infrastructure company. Recently, IT infrastructure providers are convincing their clients to have cloud based dynamic data centers which have lot of advantages over conventional data centers. Once, you move the data to the servers of IT infrastructure providers the security is compromised. Cloud has innumerable advantages like wild horse. It has to be bridled to make it a race horse.
