What Are Your Views On Per Sec Billing
KumaarShah replied to SUDYEcaZ's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
AFAIK, only RGSM offers lifetime validity on tariffs with RCV 31 with all local calls at 50ps and all STD calls at Re1 and you can also use RCV 15 to further reduce your onnet call charges also. And if you want still lower STD rates, use STD packs like 75, 145, 285 etc, all these without affecting your LT tariff validity. Tata DoCoMo still does not offer any LT validity on tariffs. Their website still says introductory offer, which can be withdrawn at any time - though competition can still deny them this action. -
New Spice D-6666 , Gsm-gsm / Cdma-gsm Mobile Launched
KumaarShah replied to ramtech's topic in Other handsets
AFAIK, none of the Chinese/Korean/Spice handsets supports WAP on CDMA. They support GPRS on GSM in all handsets. This means that you will not be able to use Opera Mini on CDMA, but you can use it on GSM. I know WAP may be free for CDMA, but then this is the price we have to pay for remaining on CDMA for so long. If your usage is not too high, then don't bother about WAP charges, use GSM's EDGE / GPRS - its equally fast on RGSM - not much reliable idea about other providers. Or go in for a handset which has Wi-fi. BTW any dual CDMA-GSM handset having Wi-fi? -
What Are Your Views On Per Sec Billing
KumaarShah replied to SUDYEcaZ's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
AFAIK, I think the interconnect charges are not on a per minute basis, but they are on a per second basis. Otherwise Tata DoCoMo would have gone bankrupt instantly. The interconnect charges are paid on the total number of seconds one operator uses the other operators system for terminating the call there. Correct me if I am wrong, I read it somewhere on this very forum - maybe a couple of years back. And digging out the old posts is something which is very difficult now with the new IPB version. I faintly remember it was in the post about Tata Indicom's (not Tata DoCoMo) per second billing. -
Bsnl Introduces Per Second Billing
KumaarShah replied to vvinayakpai's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Only if Airtel, Voda, BSNL, Aircel introduces it, then RCOM will think and introduce it after some time:rofl_200: :Contento: -

Bsnl Introduces Per Second Billing
KumaarShah replied to vvinayakpai's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
STD at 2 paise is not like DoCoMo where it is 1 ps per sec for the 1st 27000 secs. BSNL is not running into losses that a private operator can afford to give and they cannot.... Anyway, Jai Ho!!!! to DoCoMo... Hope RGSM also follows suit.... -
, Yes 30 days is too less. And I do not know which person would be such a fool to spend Rs 1000 every month by remaining on prepaid. He would be much better off by going post. On a better note, RGSM should allow carry forward of unutilised minutes for this offer to take off dramatically. Maybe they should insist on a recharge before the validity ends for the unutilised minutes to get carry forwarded (like with the NCC etc).

Aircel Introduces ‘hungama- Offer’ In Orissa
KumaarShah replied to vvinayakpai's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
I think you very well understand the kind of network congestion that will get created if Aircel gives such an offer for TN!!!! AFAIK, without this offer, Aircel is the most congested network in TN. Maybe today things are better, but this was the worst network some time back. This is solely on my experience and not on any figures from anywhere. -
Mobile Numbers Starting With “8″ Launched!
KumaarShah replied to anshu_s09's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
I doubt if that would be possible. Because BOSS 0 to 9 would be for that circle only. Unless RGSM has decided to give BOSS 0 to 4 for Maha and the remaining BOSS 5 to 9 for some other circle. That option also is not possible as they have asked subscribers to request their desired last 6 digits and not 5 digits. So no BOSS for all of us outside Maharashtra. :rofl_200: :Contento: :Sorprendido: -
Tata Docomo Launches Pay-per-character Diet-sms
KumaarShah replied to SUDYEcaZ's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Exactly, I agree with above.... I too have forwarded many calls to my BSNL LLs and also to Voda, Airtel, RGSM numbers many times. I think what city02 meant was probably CF to other circle numbers... This is currently not available anywhere on any operator. Maybe sometimes it could accidentally get activated, but I doubt if calls do get connected to the forwarded number. -
AFAIK, there is no rule to prevent the conversion of a postpaid number to prepaid even within 1 month. If I am not wrong, pkdaga converted his Tata Docomo premium postpaid number to prepaid within a month. I may be wrong.
-
Only if the unutilised usage is allowed to be carried forward, this scheme will not sell although it appears attractive at Re 0.50 per minute local or national calling. The added bonus is 999 national SMS which effectively is totally free.

Tata Docomo Launches Pay-per-character Diet-sms
KumaarShah replied to SUDYEcaZ's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Even though I am not using SMS as much nowadays as in the past, I feel this scheme will turn out to be very costly. Although TDCM says they will not charge for space in between words, still the cost will be too high for avid SMS'ers. The company will charge just one paisa per character for an SMS up to 15 characters.. so may be this scheme is for characters upto 15 only or may be for sms with > 15 characters they charging normal sms rate I doubt if they will adopt the dual pricing scheme as it will overwork their billing systems. -
Mobile Numbers Starting With “8″ Launched!
KumaarShah replied to anshu_s09's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
AFAIK, 11 digits numbering has been put on hold for some time as there are a lot of technical and system upgradations necessary for doing this and the state players (BSNL/MTNL) are reluctant to go in for such system upgrades right now. In any case, the 10 digit numbering will last for atleast 3 years. Correct me if I am wrong... -
All the above emoticons will express feelings better than words. Great Stuff, great hobby and great job. Keep it up.

Aircel Slashes Std, Local Rates To Unbelievable Lows

What about STD to LLs? is it the same or different? -
Thanks Sadikk for clearing the air... And yes doc, we are all CDMA loyalists since 2003.... :Contento: , though I will acknowledge that 6630 was indeed a GSM phone....

New Spice D-6666 , Gsm-gsm / Cdma-gsm Mobile Launched
KumaarShah replied to ramtech's topic in Other handsets
AFAIK, on Spice handsets, Opera Mini can be used only on GPRS and not on CDMA WAP!!! -
Sadikk knows about it, I am unable to search the particular topic in which he has posted about the only S60 CDMA Nokia Phone. Maybe you will be able to locate it. And a search for 6630 in Nokia.co.in or Nokia.com returns irrelevant results. Maybe they stopped manufacture....
