What could have happened if TDSAT had not allowed the dual services? RCOM has already launched GSM services almost all India now. Would they have had to withdraw the services? Or would they approach the SC? And similarly the opposing parties also can still approach the SC, AFAIK.

This apart, I also agree with Sadikk - they will drag you on for years and at the end, they will escape with light fines, which they are ready to pay. Worse than RCOM and we thought only RCOM is looting us. Maybe there is some alphabetic mistake in the tariffs? High Hopes???

The CC of all telcos and cellcos are never updated with the latest info always. There is always some time lag. And moreover this is is public sector company, wait for some months for the CC to have all the info you need.

^^^ Typical, standard, automated response from CC of RCOM. Wait for their reply, then tell them you will go in for legal action. It will not make them jittery in any case. But then someone has to take the bull by its horns. If 20/100MB is not network usage then what is it - callertune or voicemail or sms or isd call? How can they charge separately for 20/100 mb and once again for kb (network) usage?

^^^ Chennai Voda offers all local calls at 60ps for 32 bucks and for SMS, we have a new Bonus 88 which gives 750 local SMS per day and 500 national SMS per month, both valid for 30 days.

^^^ Yeah, I too have seen the ads, posters, etc. All round objects like idlis, vadas, jangris etc have been shaped like the egg (MTS Logo shape, as provided by sadikk above) with the comment, "all will change, coming soon" Good that we will have one more competitor here. But MTS in Russia is only GSM AFAIK, correct me if I am wrong.Or maybe like RCOM they straddle both spheres there?

^^^ Call up CC and ask them to terminate your account. After that, maybe you can take another number with fewer headaches. I hope the number is not important for you. Only if you terminate, you will be able to rid yourself of all the unnecessary charges on your bills. You have blamed yourself for the mess you are in. So ring up CC and tell them to terminate your account as you do not wish to pay such huge bills. This appears to be the only option left to you. I hope you may be able to activate another number immediately. Let the techies around here explain you in detail on this.

Cdma will die very soon. No use trying and wasting money and that too with rcom. My suggestion to you is to go gsm and take some good cellco 's connections. The replies you have received also are an indicator of the low level of cc in rcom. I also received a call from cc in response to my mail to cmo and the dumb cc told me to visit the nearest ww for all assistance. All i had asked for was prepaid stv's and offers. *333 always is in a hurry to disconnect calls. For your info, even nokia is not interested in developing any new handsets for cdma, reasons are very obvious and documented elsewhere on this forum. No use calling them at all. Although their dispute with qualcomm is over more than a year back, no new CDMA handset has been made available as yet. I am also waiting for mnp to come in and then i will quit rcom for good for all my connections.

@situ1962, even i faced the same problem since last night. Now its working fine. Even RWorld was not working, so I registered a complaint and the CCE told me that she is arranging for a data reset or something like that. It started working late today afternoon, after I received a SMS from 52811 that "the data has been reset as per my request" If people have problems with internet apps usage, please complain to CC saying that RWorld is not working totally and then they will reset the data and it may start working again. No idea what RCOM is upto nowadays. Voice also is becoming bad - call drops, crackly voices, long time for connecting any number, sudden network disappearing and reappearing, etc etc. But Plan 249 is costlier than Plan 199 if I am not wrong. Are you able to download anything and also use any internet app? Please explain in detail.

^^^ I also read that, but thought that I should clarify further. I think Reliance Mobiles encompasses both CDMA as well as GSM. No one can understand RCOM strategies. In one plan, it is free whereas in another plan, they say it is not free. They only wish to confuse and confound customers. They do not rely on KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid).

^^^ Is it only GSM onnet or all RCOM Onnet? If the former, then it may be useless. Because the number of RGSM subscribers may be very very low currently. It will be useful 6 months down the line when they operate full fledged services.

^^^ AFAIK, Matrix EPABXs have the facility to attach a GSM SIM, no idea about RUIMs. In case you do come across any solutions, please do let us know here. It may be useful for many. I may insert my RUIM into my office's Epabx and cut down on some LL.

Seeing the 'CEP' and the experience of the subscribers as above, I am happy that RGSM is not launched in Chennai as yet. Let them sort out the network problems before launching in Chennai. I think even in Hyderabad RGSM is not yet launched.

I do not use RWorld at all. I use Opera Mini only for browsing. Only if we use RWorld, are we asked to subscribe to any of plans 99/199. In any case, Opera Mini is far superior than the native browser of Nokia. I have not subscribed to any of the plans.

^^^ Yes I am in DAPO and I also get a refund of Rs 25 for L1 plan plus no network charges at all. But only for DAPO, they give a refund of L1 charges, for all other plans, it is chargeable. So if I were to migrate from DAPO to some other plan, I would not get a refund of Rs 25 for L1 plan charges. But then again, the network charges would still be free because L1 plan remains as it is even if I migrate to any other postpaid plan. On migration to prepaid, L1 is lost forever. Thats why I am still on postpaid. Hope they do not cut the services once again.

@nshram, I think savramesh has clarified your doubts. To add to his post, I wish to say that RCOM is cheating customers by charging monthly rental of 99/199 and also charging 5ps/10kb. This is ridiculous. This is like the FUP policy wherein unlimited actually means limited. I have L1 plan so network usage charges of 5ps/10kb is not charged to me. For how long this will remain, is going to be a mystery. In this last one month, twice they have disabled access. SO they must be trying out something to make it chargeable. It is apparent that they have not yet succeeded in their attempts to charge customers. @dkaile, You should garner more support on the double charging issue. Charging both rentals and usage charges is really ridiculous. In the original post on this issue also, I have posted that RCOM emailed to me stating that upto 20/100MB, browsing/downloading will be free. Then how come they are charging both now? As I have L1 plan, I do not have any locus standi .

Patience has paid off. Hope they do not test us again. BTW, 10ps per 10kb is not all that bad considering that opera mini compresses data, it is much better and cheaper than native browser of nokia. Am i right, techies? So, once again i will have to drop my plan to go prepaid, now. Hopefully, that is.

^^^ I think you better PM @mitj@in directly, he can help you. But the number is for Net Connect only and not for RWorld. In case you still want to give it a try, dial 3033 5555. No idea about 7 digit numbers. Maybe you could dial out 011 3033 5555. Secondly with Plan 199, AFAIK, one is entitled to 100 MB free browsing and downloading whereas in Plan 99, one can browse free only upto 20MB. Why should the network charges 5ps/10kb be charged additionally? In my postpaid DAPO, I was not charged anything at all for browsing. Agreed I have L1 plan also by which all network charges will be waived. I got an email also from CMO that all browsing/downloads in Plan 99/199 will be free till the specified limits of 20/100MB and after that only all charges are applicable. Anyway, no harm in emailing to CMO and find out the current status, maybe RCOM has once again bended rules slyly. @doc, You are indeed lucky if you are able to use RWORLD with the UTS.

^^^ But doc, he has subscribed to Plan 199 which will entitle him to free 100MB per month and after that only, charges can be deducted. This is unfair. @dkaile, I guess you will have to email/write to CMO about this matter. I think they have by mistake activated your Plan 199 because it is not available for prepaid AFAIK. But with RCOM, one never knows.
