  1. @kshah, please open up and let us know what exactly it will cost for us. what is the hw required and the cost and also the sw required and its cost. and whether it will be easy to use. will reliance object to it? you may know that for for free onnet call packs, they very clearly state that it should not be used for commercial purposes. hence for this also, there may be some rules. check and advise. thanks
  2. All About Nokia 6265

thank god, vikalp is ok now. no hard feelings, mate.
  3. rail info, airlines info, etc working in chennai without any std prefix 044 since last one year. but not in tn circle. and best news is for DAPO, access is full free within the 1st 400 mts, and thereafter at 1.00 pm. i think it should be working for delhi, mumbai, kolkata. in bangalore it was working with the prefix 080 last year. users of these circles please check and post. thanks
  4. As usual, no news from reliance on their website which continues to dole out stale info always. We rimwebians can provide much fresher and faster info than they (reliance) can themselves.
  5. great travelogue, mate. keep it up. continue with the info. Thanks.
  6. All About Nokia 6265

Friends, The foll. is the reply I got from Reliance, which is self-explanatory. Dear Customer, In response to your mail regarding WAP access charges, please note the surf application charges under M category is applicable for browsing WAP services. Please find the charges for the same attached for your reference. If you have any further query, we request you to write us back. We will be glad to assist you for the same. Yours sincerely, Prasun Banerjee Corporate Centre Reliance Communications Now there is no doubt that for DAPO users WAP access is full free. The Rworld Rate card attachment has already been attached earlier, so I am not attaching it again. @ KOK, now you can also rest assured that WAP is free. Hope Reliance continues the pricing as it is and does not tinker with the services anymore. Any one has any ideas why they stopped WAP in the first place and re-introduced it again without any changes on the charges? So, folks, enjoyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
  7. As far as BSNL/MTNL is concerned, all info provided here. What about reliance? any links? @arun, pretty informative links. try to give details on Relaince also. thanks
  8. All About Nokia 6265

RWRateCard.zipHi All Users of WAP on N6265, Today i have received a reply to my email for WAP charges. The following is the transcript: - Dear Customer, In response to your mail regarding charges applicable for accessing WAP services through Reliance World in your Reliance Mobile handset Nokia 6265, please find the list of Reliance World Rate Card details attached for your reference. Further to your request for revised plan charges, we thank you for giving your valuable feedback. We have made a note of it and the same will be considered based on suitability and requirement of your proposition. Yours sincerely, Prasun Banerjee Corporate Centre Reliance Communications Also attached: RWorld Rate Card. Now does this mean that WAP is free for DAPO users and chargeable at rs 25 per month or Rs 3 per day for others? Ref. is to Surf application in the attched xl file which states these rates. Any comments, please. @KOK, your views also please.
  9. New Nokia 2865 Cdma

come again, what tinkering are you referring to?
  10. Share ur RIM Numbers...

Hi all, Ali and vikalp have added me to their lists. Thanks to them. Others can also add me in their list 93806 96735 is my number. And if anyone wants to send LMS or picture messages, 98844 29968 is my GSM number. (as it is not receivable on Reliance, or is it?) One request to members here is to not forward SMSs received from Rimwebians, because all of us would be in the list already and this will mean same SMS received from many members. Like vakalp said earlier create two lists one for RW and the other for other friends. Send SMSs received from one list to another and if possible not within the same list. I hope this will be acceptable to all here. No compulsions. Feel free. Thanks P.S.: If anyone here can advise how to use the 6265 with a PC for sending/receiving SMSs, please post here the procedure.
  11. Free Sms Sending Software?

@ashoksoft, what abt 6265? any possibilility for this phone? I mean using pc to send/receive SMS. I have data cable and also BT with me and the latest PCSync SW. However the SMS option is not available AFAIK on 6265 via PCSync. Am I right? Thanks in Advance.
  12. Problems With Messages

But what you received earlier was only SMS (160 chrs) truncated into two SMSs. So you feel that you were receiving LMS in multiple parts, but in reality, Reliance does not support receiving LMS at all now or ever before. I have had a lot of emails exchanged with the CMO on this matter and they have just expressed their regrets for not providing this service to their valued subscribers.

But in one Dist list, you can have only ten members. Then what will you do? create additional lists? In 6265 we can create 16 such lists with 10 members each. All of us may be doing the same thing for forwards of SMSs. However, one problem with Reliance is SMS store capacity is absolutely poor and they do not have online SMS storing facility also like Aircel in TN etc. Any idea how to store more SMSs on this 6265 phone? Why Reliance is doing this is a big mystery. Probably they do not get any revenues from SMS services and hence they do not want to make life easier for subscribers. Even the SMS storage in this 6265 phone is a measly 100 to 130 depending on the RUIm you have. 24MB internal memory and also external memory is available, but Nokia and Reliance have conspired to kill this facility for us SMS lovers. My Ngage Qd with just 4MB internal memory and no MMC inside is able to store more than 1000 SMSs and phone book capacity also is mammoth and huge. Shame on Nokia and Reliance, TATA for spoiling such a beautiful handset. Thanks Ali and Vikalp for adding me to your list.
  14. Problems With Messages

Reliance does not support LMS on Nokia handsets. In any case you can send LMS in LG handsets but receiving LMS is impossible. I hope you understand what I mean. What LMS you send from LG will be received by other mobiles in multiple SMSs and not as a single LMS. All new models of LG support LMS sending. Hope the info is clear to you. Why Reliance is doing this is a big mystery. Probably they do not get any revenues from SMS services and hence they do not want to make life easier for subscribers. 16. Is Wap Working Again?

Same here also, I think it is being charged under Membership category, which means free for DAPO users. For others, they can take a monthly rental plan of Rs 25 or a per day usage of Rs 3. However for my usage on 28.10.2006, I have been charged about Rs 30. I did not make any voice calls, but in RWorld, I downloaded some free wallpapers. I do not know if Reliance charges for that also. It was clearly stated that he cost of the wallpaper download was Rs 0. Even otherwise, wallpapers are chargeable at Rs 3 each. I downloaded some 5 to 7 wallpapers only. How Rs 30 has been charged is a mystery. Guess will have to wait till the bill is generated. No reply as yet for email sent yesterday. That will give correct picture. Thanks and keep enjoying WAP till then at a cost or free, whatever it is.
  17. Is Wap Working Again?

Sent an email to Reliance for WAP charges, lets see when they respond. Will post details as and when I receive it. Till then, enjoy WAP. Thanks
  18. Insurance Free

    exactly.
  19. Is Wap Working Again?

Too good to be true, if it lasts. Enjoy till it is there. Any one has any ideas on the tariffs? I called up *333 and had to educate the CCE about WAP. They still do not know what is WAP. One of them asked if I meant VAS. and another tried to fool me by referring to WAP enabled handsets. Anyway, CC does not know about WAP and also charges for WAP services.
  20. Reading Smses From Lg Rd2130 To Pc

Not possible AFAIK, you can seek the help of someone you know in the LGSC.
  21. What exactly is airtel's and hutch's Onnet pack details? Can anyone please elaborate on the rentals and free or subsidised onnet call charges? Is it available ALL INDIA?
  22. Sos!help!help!sos!

Wow. thats really good Pankaj Rathod. Keep it up, man. A very good writeup. Keep up the great work.
  23. This is due to their lowest call rates and also their onnet packs. If you factor in these, then their ARPU may be the highest. No other operator is giving ONNET packs like Reliance does. And who is giving ALL India at 0.75 pm vis-a-vis NJ499 plan? On another level, would you be ready to pay more to Reliance? Just to increase their ARPU? GSM cannot match Reliance in this area at least. Let us give credit where it is deserved.
  24. Chhota Walky

Really a terrific phone, but available only in select places and is only for Cordless Life plan. With STD at 1 per mt and local mobiles at 1 per 3 mts. I think you mean terrific tariffs and not terrifying tariffs. Tata is improving day by day on tariffs and phones, but Reliance is lagging way behind now. Cheers to Tatas. Boo-Hoo to Reliance.
  25. All About Nokia 6265

A similar sort of thing happened with my LGRD 5340 last week. All of a sudden, all keys except Power/End key stopped working. All incoming calls could not be attended because the green/Call key was not working. I could only silence the incoming ring or reject the incoming call. Nothing else possible - no voice, no SMS, no Rworld no nothing. I powered on and off the handset atleast five to six times, removed the battery and prayed to all the gods that it start working. Nothing worked for about half an hour. Then all of a sudden, everything started working. I dont know if it was handset problem or network problem. Any one has any ideas or clues on this?
