  2. Why only onnet packs..............Sample this airtel CUG offer for our hospital it has been running for 3 yrs now

    Monthly rental 500 rs

    free calls 500 rs

    within CUG calls are free

    All other mobiles 40 paisa

all airtel mobiles in haryana delhi punjab 30 paisa

    Landline ( not sure ) 50 paisa.

The call charges quoted by you are effective call charges or actual call charges.

I mean what are the pulse rates? If Airtel is charging you Rs 1.20 / 3 mts for all other mobiles, Re 0.90 / 3 mts to airtel mobiles and Rs 1.50 / 3 mts to all landlines, then this scheme is costly. However if the pulse rates are for 60 secs., this is the best scheme. Please check once again and post here.

    Thanks.

  3. First Theft Tracking CDMA Phone

    Techtree News Staff Email Print

    Jul 19, 2006

Samsung India has announced the launch of the Samsung Hero, positioned as the country's first Anti-theft Mobile Tracker and Emergency SOS Alert CDMA phone.

According to the company, the new handset is targeted at consumers who want the twin benefits of high quality mobility and affordability.

A slim and stylish phone, the Samsung Hero prominently features an anti-theft mobile tracker, as also an emergency SOS alert.

Commenting on the launch, H C Ryu, managing director, Samsung India, said, "We are pleased to launch the country's first phone with Anti Theft Mobile Tracker feature and Emergency SOS alert system. These features add to the everyday safety of consumers, and minimize the pain of losing one's Mobile Phone . With the launch of Hero, Tata Indicom customers will be the first to enjoy this technology introduced by Samsung in the country."

The Anti Theft Mobile Tracker, according to the company, has been introduced for the first time by Samsung and Tata Indicom. In the event the phone is stolen, and the number is replaced, the feature enables the handset to automatically send an SMS to up to two pre-selected numbers, giving the contact number of the new user without his/her knowledge.

The other feature, the Emergency SOS Alert, is meant to ensure that help is close- at-hand in the user's hour-of-need.

When the user senses trouble, all he/she has to do is press the "C" key four times, and the handset automatically sends-out an SOS SMS to up to 10 numbers pre-selected by the user. The SMS alerts receivers that the user needs help. Upon calling back the user, his/her handset automatically receives calls, thereby facilitating instant communication.

The Samsung Hero mobile handset is immediately available through Tata Indicom True Value Shops and True Value Hubs for Rs 1,499, and comes along with seven days validity plus Rs 50 worth of initial talk time.

  4. Series 60 handsets are not made by any mobile phone manufacturer for CDMA.

    thats not true!

Nokia 6638 for one is a CDMA s 60 phone. dont know if it is still available in the global market or not.

    Check this http://www.symbian-freak.com/newshistory/05/index7.htm

also this phone seems to be s40 3rd edition

6255 was s40 2nd edition. will have to look for the differences between the two and how much reliance has screwed this beauty.

But you are right we wont be able to add too many softwares given the limitations of a series 40 phone.

    Ok found something

Series 40 Platform 3rd Edition delivers an advanced mobile experience to consumers and the biggest opportunity to mobile developers. With support for 240 x 320-pixel screens, Series 40 Platform 3rd Edition delivers new APIs that allow developers to create more-appealing applications with higher perceived value. Media developers benefit from providing consumers with an improved viewing experience that will drive consumption of content and media. The platform approach, with its uniform implementation of technologies and supporting tools, documentation, and examples, requires less effort to seize these market opportunities.

Now the platform goes even further with the release of the first Series 40 Platform Feature Pack. Series 40 Platform 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1 adds support for Macromedia Flash Lite 1.1 from Adobe as well as Java™ APIs, enhanced messaging, and 2D vector graphics.

Nokia 6638 CDMA though boasting of S60 was never launched. Nokia USA website does not mention this model nor any CDMA models. Nokia USA website returned an error while searching for 6638 and instead pointed to an outdated 638 phone instead of 6638.

Further till today, there are no S60 or Symbian phones for CDMA. Although Qualcomm and Symbian had collaborated as far back as 2000, no CDMA symbian phones are as yet available.

If anyone has information to the contrary reg Symbian CDMA phones, please post here. I may still be wrong.

    Till then, Enjooooooooooooooooooooy.

  5. v can still install lots symbian s/w which provides unlimited video recording feature ;)

It cannot support symbian softwares as it is not Series S60 ,it is merely Nokia series s40.As far as i know.

I really doubt reliance will introduce ne symbian (flexible) phone ever. ;)

Series 60 handsets are not made by any mobile phone manufacturer for CDMA. Even in GSM, it is available mainly with Nokia and also some other company. So Reliance has no hand in this. This is also one of the reasons to switch over to GSM, because S60 handsets are available only for GSM and not for CDMA. Correct me if I am wrong.

    @vmsanghrajka,

It is not possible to load S60 applications (Symbian) on a S40 phone. So dont have any high hopes. Anyway please check and advise, I may be wrong in my understanding. Cheeeeeeeeeeeers.

  6. Looks like it is high time to quit Reliance and shift to GSM of Airtel or Hutch or even BSNL.

Only problem I have is that I have 6 Rel. connections and no other operator is giving Free Onnet calling packs. So what to do?

I am frustrated by the lack of proper response even from CMO eg. handsets like 6265 etc and also withdrawal of facilities one by one.

Hope some one drills some good sense into ADA.

  7. What the Times Article says is that GSM spectrum will be given to Reliance as and when it starts vacating the CDMA spectrum. Hence this is what AA wanted anyway. Only thing is that both GSM and CDMA will not be available simultaneously to Reliance.

So Mum and Del Reliance folks can get GSM connections maybe in six months or even earlier. However, the voice clarity may not be as clear and call charges may also be higher than CDMA in the initial phase. Maybe when Reliance moves all its custoemrs from CDMA to GSM, they will be able to offer competitive and economic call rates.

    Anyway, lets wait and watch.

  9. Looks very difficult indeed, ask around if any old handset is available at the LGSC and then ask them to swap it. But from the way you have explained your predicament, I still feel a detailed email to the CMO with full details of your problems only will elicit a fairly good result.

Try your luck, buddy. Pray to all gods around. Hope for the best.

Reliance Hello connects state capitals at local call rate

Hello Capital plan offers an effective call charge of 0.40 paise per minute

Applicable to Reliance Hello to Reliance Hello call between state capitals on all the postpaid & prepaid tariff plans

    New Delhi, July 03, 2006

Keeping with the Reliance tradition of giving the best value to consumers, Reliance Communications today announced the launch of its latest exciting offer 'Hello Capital Plan', which enables Reliance customers to make calls between state capitals at the local call rates of 40 paise per minute.

Under the Hello Capital plan, a Reliance Hello customer (with '32' series numbering plan) will enjoy a special tariff of Rs 1.20 per 3 minutes (same as local call charge of 0.40 paise per minute) for a Reliance Hello to Reliance Hello call between state capitals. Applicable on all the tariff plans in postpaid and prepaid Reliance Hello phones, this plan will benefit the entire gamut of customer segments including traders, small & medium entrepreneurs, executives, families residing in state capitals. In other words, an individual working in Delhi can make calls to his relatives & friends in Mumbai, Chennai, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kolkata and many more capital cities at local call rate. Reliance Hello Capital is a step towards shrinking the distance between the 19 state capitals by changing the dynamics of Long Distance tariffs to Local call rates.

Announcing the Reliance Hello Capital Plan, Mr. S P Shukla, President (Wireless business), Reliance Communications said, "In our constant endeavour to give the best to our customers, we have formulated this fabulous plan. I am sure this plan will bring Reliance Hello customers closer to his near & dear ones; and connect the business partners than ever before without worry for high telephone bills."

The Company has taken up a massive awareness building campaign for the product through print, audio and audio-visual media in all the state capitals across the country. This tariff is available to all Reliance Hello customers in 19 state capitals with '32' numbering plan.

    Link:http://www.relianceinfo.com/webapp/Infocomm/jsp/media/PressRelease.jsp?id=202

So start enjoying Reliance Hello but only with other capital cities and not to each and every Hello. CC as usual is blissfully ignorant and has no info on this plan. Ideally, it should have been for any Hello to any Hello all over India.

After a long time, something good has come out from Reliance.

  11. In Caller Tunes, can we set different tunes for different callers?

Another thing, at Rs 15 per tune per month, is it not very expensive?? Huthc in Chennai is offering different CTs for diff.callers at Rs 15 per tune valid for 90 (yes ninety) days plus the usual Rs 30 per month rentals. Dont know about Airtel or BSNL or Aircel for chennai. In any case BSNL still does not have CTs facility as yet.
