  1. hi guys,

i was looking for some free back-up cloud services on the net and came across the following 2 websites

    1. https://www.cx.com/

i came across this on the xda forum. it offers 10 gb of free storage space and an additional 6 gb if you refer your friends

    2. http://www.adrive.com/plans

this site gives you 50 gb of free data. but i guess there are other inconveniences one might have to put up with like ads,no encryption etc etc

so have a look and if you have need for cloud storage, register and start using

  2. just saw some of the stupid plans offered by bsnl. every plan has the word "upto" in the speed column. so they can charge an insane amount of money which no one in india can afford and then screw the customers royally with some technical terms.i also called my area bsnl JE to enquire about these plans. it seems there is a distance restriction on some of these plans. i.e from the exchange your house has to be within a prescribed no of kilometers for you to get the full speed

  3. There has to be some monitoring agency that regulates these ads. Every mobile company uses the word 'unlimited' to cheat their customers. They proclaim something is free, then put an asterisk at the end of it & impose many conditions. tata docomo could have spent all of its ad budget to improve their pathetic network.

  4. There are many reliable brands in the market.popular brands are mugen and seidio.another brand called hyperion had also received some mixed reviews on Amazon. There is another brand called trexcell but that hasn't received many positive reviews on xda.

  5. This stupid telecom policy was supposed to have been formulated in 2011. But the Draft of the policy was prepared only in October 2011. So, the telecom policy 2011 had to be changed to telecom policy 2012. So if the stupid policy itself took so much time to Draft, one can only assume the time the implementation is going to take. My advice is dont get your hopes up.

  6. The government has come out with this policy but it has to be approved by the telecom companies right. Every minister is in the pocket of these companies which is why our telecom policies are so backward & redundant. If it gets implemented then it's a very good step for the mobile users. But will it get implemented quickly?

  7. hi guys. i'm having a weird problem with tata indicom. a couple of months back when i activated 1x on my phone,i had downloaded app-it. its a kind of an app that lets you use facebook, gmail, twitter etc. after using 1x for a month i unsubscribed from the pack but still i was being charges rs 15 every month for app-it. i also uninstalled the app-it from tata zone.i made numerous calls to the CC and they told me to dial 155223 to deactivate any of my subscriptions.i did the same but once again the deduction has happened. finally i made a complaint yesterday saying that even after unsubscribing many times,i'm being charged for a service i'm not using. today they got back to me saying once i downloaded the app,i shall be charged for it even if i uninstall it from my phone. they said the CC cannot do anything from their side and that i have to visit a tata indicom office to get this problem sorted.

has anyone faced this problem before?

does anyone know how to get rid of this stupid app-it?

any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  8. Humpback battery makes our slick smartphones look ugly :D

I don't use them but bought a OEM spare battery for the Galaxy S 2 and keep car charger handy at all times.

extended batteries dont add much width to the phone. maybe half a CM . this is a small price to pay for double the usage time.

  9. I agree on the same ,when I went to get my connection theywere only having prithvi. So I only got the sim and did not buy the modem. My hunt for a temporary modem continues till the one I have ordered from US comes in.

According to members here & from the research I have done, I think the best alternative available is to go for mmx 300c or 310c from micromax. Both are available at around 2k from flipkart. Used models may be purchased from rimweb also. I don't think we need to import it.
