  1. Here is the new story, Last time i tried to nuke BB using MFI on Windows 7ultimate, as a result i got FAILED. Today i downloaded 500mb "Windows XP mode for windows 7". installed MFI on that and tried nuke. it was not working on that. Kept xp mode as it is, but tried MFI nuke on windows 7. Surprise!! This time i got PASS result and Blackberry showed big 1.Then i installed BB OS v4.5.0.177 using desktop manager, no errors, no restarting, nothing...worked perfectly!

But the problem is after turning Mobile Network on (in manage connection) blackberry shows "Searching for CDMA.." after some time it shows "No Service". Any solution for this?

  2. the error wont come on 4.5

some versions of 4.2 are very laggy

Error still not came....worked perfectly.. today evening i kept inside my pocket and taken out for a while...after some time when i checked it. what i see is BB keeps restarting.. any solution for that. (I'm tierd and sick of this BB. if anyone want i will sell it :NOTriste: )

nuke means wiping os completely off device

how to nuke, any software for that?

  3. Thanks hitesh for posting details.. I have done it in some other way...Here is the details: (may help for newbie )

    1] Wipe :

Downloaded JL_Cmder v1.9.1 [Thanks to google]

    Option 4 Wipe

Downloaded CrackUtil (found zip file google)

wipe the apps and the file system

    2] Downgrading BB8830 is Ver 4.2.2.123

As i got error as i said earlier. I followed this method.

    Delete the vendor.xml file located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader.

    1. Disconnect the device from the PC

    2. Download and install Desktop Manager and the Handheld OS to the PC (if they have not already been installed):

Desktop Manager and Handheld OS List

    3. Start a Command Prompt in DOS from the PC (Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Command Prompt)

    4. Change the directory to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

    a) From C:\ prompt type:

    cd Program Files

    cd Common Files

    cd Research In Motion

    cd AppLoader

    5. Make sure Desktop Manager is not running

    6. Connect BlackBerry to the PC

    7. Enter the following command in the Command Prompt window:

    loader.exe /nojvm

    8. The Application Loader Wizard window will open

    9. Click on Next

    10. You will get a drop down list with the COM ports and one USB port entry

    11. Select the one which says USB:UNKNOWN

    a) If you do not see USB:UNKNOWN or USB:BBPIN, then follow instructions listed in a1-a5:

a1) Disconnect the device from the PC.

a2) Keep the Application Loader Wizard window open

a3) Remove the battery and put it back

a4) While the red led is on, reconnect the device to the PC. The led will only stay on for a few seconds

a5) When USB:UNKNOWN appears in the drop down list, you need to immediately select Next

    12. The loader should now connect to your device and you will be able to reinstall the OS

Done. I hope i will not get the Device Error 348 again.
