Vodafone bags Hutch for US$ 19.3 Billion !

Please donot deviate from the topic. -
Here is a news item from October 2006 ( http://www.itwire.com.au/content/view/6257/945/ ) which says "Bangalore is rocking. Two things happened simultaneously on the same day. Both based on WiMAX technology, one of which means the Indian state will be WiMAX enabled within months.". It also quotes from a minister stating that "Bangalore would be completely WiMAX-enabled from January 2007". Since it is from a minister, we should take it with a pinch of salt. Actually, more interesting has been the article in Hindustan Times of 15th Nov 2006 ( http://www.hindustantimes.com/news/181_184...00200170001.htm ) with the heading "Kudos Bangalore, the real technology city". This what it says: Bangalore is going to be the second city in the world to be fully Wi-Max enabled, something even the Silicon Valley can't boast of. According to news magazine Outlook, "In early 2007, when Wi-Max is introduced to Bangalore city - in the final plan it'll cover 696 Km of the city and 470 Km in the surrounding town and municipal regions - it will be only the second city in the world to be fully Wi-Max enabled, after Taipei." This article has been discussed in Silicon Valley in some blogs and articles (for example, http://www.salon.com/tech/htww/2006/11/29/...imax/index.html with the heading "Keeping pace with the Bengaluru Joneses") Bangalore surely rocks but are those Wi-Max services for the common man or only for tatas and birlas?

Why is reliance charging for WAP when tata is giving it free?
-
Tata introduced a new chota Walky! Its a colour handset with terrifc tarrif. Check it out. Walky to walky STD @Rs.1.20/3min! And lifetime validity. http://tataindicom.com/personal/wirelessph...lkycordless.asp

But what about design?

As we have waited for months for the Nokia 6265 handset, the same way I think we will have to wait for Reliance to start WAP. Reliance had started it but I cant understand why did it stop it. Instead it should continued it by Monthly charges by which Reliance would benefit and also the customers.Atleast we would get to use WAP. I dont have any idea about Tata. Tata offers free WAP! There are no restrictions. You can access any site including rimweb
-
Are you joking?? How can you imagine that it will be possible!
-
Tata has SMS cards on prepaid also.Like,Rs.30 RCV and you get 1000 messages free for a month! And they have a colour mobile(Kyocera) for Rs.999!!!!!!!

This actually is an old procedure, because Tata is already using Airtel, Hutch and Idea's infrastructure! -
Airtel (bharti) And Reliance Communications To Share Infrastructure
shashank replied to abhay's topic in Reliance Communications
GSM or CDMA doesnt matter here.Because they only share the passive components like the tower and may be even power supply and NOT THE TRANSMITTERS and other such active componets. -
Battle For The Market: Reliance Or Bharti?
shashank replied to abhay's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Yes you must be wright as iam also an very much satisfied subscriber of tata! India is having cheapest call chrges because the quality maintained by them is very.......very low. i would vote for Reliance as it has better network quality.Airtel is horrible.I used Airtel for 2 months and was fed up of call drops. On top of that they had very high call charges.Airtel has highest no of sub in Karnataka even then! Then i moved to Hutch,as i was attracted towards their tariffs.Eventhough its coverage ouside b'lore was horrible,it had better quality than Airtel. But the problem with hutch is signals suddenly goes off for few sec and displays "Emergency Only". And after using Hutch for around 2 months,i can say that it has got slightly advanced technology than Airtel. Indian mobile operators should concentrate on quality rather than fighting for the top position.
