If its CDMA then its going to be FLOP even if they offer free outgoing calls to any operator. Example: Virgin Mobile.Not a big sensation even though they pay for incoming!

^^No you are wrong! Iam a south Tata Customer and iam using South corridor pack.Actually its different for different states.Since iam in Karnataka,calls to Ap,TN,Kerala etc will be 50p.

^^Its going to be same as Tatas Network quality dude! If Tata network collapses,then even Virgin mobile collapses! But i have one question,if your Virgin mobile is switched off/not reachable, what message will the caller get? "The Tata Indicom ........?!"

@Vishal Tata had a stake(i think 49% not sure) in idea which they sold few years back.

When i called Virgin,they said we have to buy Handset from them but if we insist on using our existing CDMA(Purchased from Tata OR open mkts) then they will program it for you. Virgin will also provide GSM service when Tata starts its GSM service!

Yes dude they even had 384kbps @ Rs.999.At present iam in 384@999 plan but i always get around 600kbps!!!!! :-) And its is not a speed jerk or something coz iam getting these speeds from almost 45 days. Airtel ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yaar this BSNL only speaks alot all this is going to materialise only in 2010 or perhaps later.They just keep saying Wimax in bangalore by year end, wimax in hyd by month end, but all those are only on paper. In reality Wimax in india by 21st century end One more best example is DD Direct+.They say they will carry 200 channels by year end but they still have only ~50 channels in which half of them are DD's channels! And they are saying the same thing each and every year from past 3-4 years(may be more). CONCLUSION: Dont keep any hopes on Govt(ofcouse indian govt)

No GPRS??????!! Thats insane! When they dont offer gprs or other VAS and with few towers obviously the tariff will be lower! BTW when can we expect Reliance GSM services in other states(Karnataka in particular)?
