  1. RCOM doesn't have 900Mhz spectrum anywhere, leave alone 3G license on it. It failed to win back any 900 mhz spectrum in circles where it was operating earlier on 900 mhz band.

RJio , in all probability will be a pure LTE player with VoLTE for voice services. Due to spectrum sharing arrangement RCOM users shall be able to latch on Jio's 4G network on 1800/2300 as well.

Also, I feel in long term 2G services will be stopped as the spectrum comes up for renewal and every operator will shift to 3G/4G.

  2. Bhai log.. Please don't bash me. Mei tau apnee party ka aadmee hoon, Relaince is opposite party.

Seedhee baat hai, we were with Relaince CDMA even when majority left CDMA long back because of the excellent network at interiors and good EVDO plans. And I agree that in the process of clearing it's debt RCom has fallen in the trap of RJIO.

Real gainer in all this mess will be RJIO, they will enjoy the 800 Mhz spectrum at the loss of RCOM.

  3. Ok, let me switch sides and speak from Reliance side once.

Rjio wasn't able to launch services since there were issues with VoLTE . They don't have 2g/3g fallback for voice. After collaboration with RCOM their 4g network will be second to none.

Have patience till 4g on 850 mhz is launched. We have enjoyed excellent indoor coverage on cdma on this band so let's expect that once band 5 4g launched we will continue to enjoy same coverage with 4g speeds.

Now hearing a prerecorded msg every time on dialling number:

    31मई से cdma सेवाएं बंद हो रही हैं, नज़दीकी रिलायंस स्टोर से 4g सिम प्राप्त करें बिल्कुल मुफ़्त।

So it is 31 may for delhi circle.

Chalo , at least in Delhi they are giving it " बिल्कुल मुफ़्त। ". Saving of ₹25/-.

Y this partiality we made recharge for 97 & now they are giving same benefit for Rs: 1 :(

Haha, Also no one is going to get that 10gb 4G data benefit. The validity of data benefit after migration is 30 days and I am sure there won't be any 4G network in 30 days. So it's only 1gb 2g/3g data post migration, if at all it works.

  6. Cdma still working in Mumbai. Those who have put in request for upgrade are slowly being shifted to Reliance GSM. . G services have not started yet but you can expect them to start once a sizeable chunk of cdma customers are shifted to gsm. I am waiting for my upgraded sim to become active.

  8. Jio VoLTE tests were not so successful partly due to lack of handset support and also world over technology for VoLTE not so matured. Thats why they entered in to sharing pact with rcom so that they have enough spectrum to fall back to 2g for voice calls. So 4g on 800mhz plus 2300mhz and voice on 1800mhz liberalized spectrum. But what happens at end remains to be seen.
