  1. Why would I need to activate my "Indian iPad" which is already working with regular gsm sims, through a Verizon one?

because of my experience with verizon iPhones. If you activate them with a GSM sim and then put Reliance CDMA, they don't catch a signal. But If you activate them with a verizon or any other CDMA Sim they catch signal with Reliance CDMA sim card.

  2. Hats off bro. Been looking for a solution like this one. BTW any way to switch control between RUIM and NV without connecting to PC? Any apps for it?

Some CM ROM's provide this functionality. Don't know whether it is available for G2 or not.

  3. Hello everyone,

1- You will have to dial 0 before calling, else, phone application will crash. Wifi works perfectly for me!.

This is taken from the xda thread but I feel it is worth a try to fix the above issue...

"To fix the issue of the com.android.phone process crashing when you don't dial a 1 in front of the number edit the /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db file with a SQLlite editor and change in the "system" table "assist_dial" and "assist_dial_init_db_check" to "0". If you don't see those 2 rows then you can add them. Fix permissions, wipe cache and reboot."

  4. I have got Sprint Note-3. I got the MSL code but i am not able to get detected in DSF. anyone know how to get detected into DFS ?

How to enable DIAG mode in Sprint Note -3 ? I tried # # 3282 # and it asked me MSL code which entered. but after that no popup for enable DIAG mode.

    *Update*

Got detected in DFS. and Send SPC also confirmed Unlocked. but changing it to RUIM and write it. Log shows BAD_SPC_Mode. Upon reset it and read it. It shows back to NV.

any pointers where am i doing wrong ?

Did you Send 16 digit password after SPC?

  5. Reliance CDMA operations are in big mess currently. the network is very bad since last 10-12 days, frequent call drops and broke voice plus very low signal level in many areas.

The WW operations are also suffering. They have sent mails to all franchisee to shift from COFO to FOFO model. In simple words, the franchisee need to pay for the rent themselves, so many of gallery operators are opting out. Like all good things, seems that this is also coming to an end.

  6. There is no issue with the cable , its working fine with my samsung stellar.

When i connect the Note 3 to system , its getting charged, thats the only operations happening.

You said the same cable is working with Stellar, that means you are using the older USB 2.0 cable. Try using the original Note 3 cable, which is USB 3.0 type and I hope that you won't face any issues.

  7. Gsm unlock is there for ZVC. Rest all points are correct

Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk

I said that if you update using the .tot file method, you'll return to bone stock ZVC, thereby loosing unlock and the GSM unlocking method is not confirmed in that case. It was mentioned by none other than the creator of GSM unlock method himself in this post:

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51580613&postcount=298

    and here

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51581360&postcount=300

However, since rooting is possible for ZVC, whether pushing the property folder in a bone stock rooted ZVC device makes it unlocked for GSM or not remains to be tested as of now.

  8. I'll summarize my observations here. Correct me if I am wrong.

To unlock Sprint G2 for GSM, rooting is necessary. So if you are GM unlocked chances are that you are rooted already unless you have used a unroot process.

For a rooted device the best option to update is using recovery flash, as suggested by st_7. If some one takes or forces an OTA update on a rooted device, he will face problems like faced by ankurcshah.

In case you have bricked your phone by taking OTA, you can return to stock kitkat by using Tot file method (method 3 in st_7's post).

GSM unlocking still works on KitKat ZVC. CDMA RUIM data is not working on Kitkat ZVC as of now. However, if you have flashed ZVC using a TOT file the GSM unlock will go away and currently there is no known method for GSM unlock on bone stock ZVC

once again, I have just summarized what i have read in this thread and I welcome to be corrected.

  9. I can post the MJA baseband for those who are experiencing the unknown baseband error after trying to downgrade. I have pulled it from an S3 that was updated to MJA updated. Currently we do not have a working Odin tar file for MJA update. You have to push this baseband through adb after rooting your phone.

Otherwise you can use the method posted by grebel in post #12 if the phone is not booting at all.

Can you please post the MJA baseband?

    Thx and regards

Here is the link for the MJA baseband .. uploaded by me...

You can copy the image file on a rooted device by using the dd command from adb shell... Otherwise you can make a odin tar file from the image file and flash it in Odin...
