Frankly, though I phone is said to be iconic handset, after reliance experience (CDMA) I am fed up of any phones which are locked in any ways. They are just waste of money, time and resources. I will never buy such handsets. They are not giving free that they are locked. Nor they are offering at 1/4 the cost.

Atleast do not go for nokia in CDMA they have pathatic services. LG has said to be good srvice, I am not aware. My partner bought Motorola K1M and its excellent handset except FM. Its music player is really great for music lover. You can play, FF , REW , Pause music without opening flap. Battery life is good. Direct access to memory card as mass storage device. Micro SD card upto 2 GB. Camara is better than LG and far better than Nokia. Nokia has one great advantage, that is its matured, standard user interface, standardized accessories and availability of accessories. Motorola has now learnt the same and using mini USB as standard interface for all accessories thats a great feature, even better than nokia.

Best LCD TVS are sharp, aqueos range. Infact shrp is the largest manufacturer of LCD tv in the world and they have many patents on LCD technology. Their burn out ratio is very less. Second best will be sony and then samsung then hitachi. LG is just above any good brand chinese LCD TVS. White balance is pathatic in LG, always. Even in CRTs

there is no way you can format phone memory except for factory reset. there are ## codes for factory reset but it means your netwrok too is gone. be careful

I think reliance is not dependent on issues clearance. THey will get clearance and probably before they get clearance, they will have their network in place. It may be couple of weeks after they get clearance, to roll our commercial services atleast in select areas.

True. Good chinese brands with real good quality (COmparable with any leading global brands) like yuolong, CECT, ZTE are not as cheap as we expect. Max 15-20%. Battery is better in good brands because they are designed and made by companies like panasonic, samsung, sony, LG etc. Also software and calibration data has great impact on battery life.

Expandable memory does not ensure larger phone bookl + SMS storage. Phone OS usually have fixed allocated memory to phone book and SMS. Fact is PIM data + SMS consumes very little meomory yet they are not allocated good memory for some unknown reasons.

Infact in most cases efficiency is achieved by upgrading softwares but to save money operators do not spend on softwares too. Take an example of EDGE, its just a software upgrade. GSM players do install new softwares to improve efficiencies in highly congested area but not every where.

You mean to say you are using connection given by company (Reliance) and they gave you treo? Which model? That can say wether it is GSM or CDMA.

GSM is very old technology hence it has far more scope of improvement than CDMA. CDMA is atleast 4 times more efficient in spectrum utilization.

@kumarshah Coolpad 728 is PDA (WM5) last year when I visited china I saw it but costing about 35K so did not bought. 228 may be phone like, may / may not be smart phone. Youlong, ZTE and few other are really good chinese handset manufacturers. They make very good handsets at very attractive price. EVDO is 2.4 mbps, burst speed. Average 700-800 kbps.

Perhaps now TATA has understood power of CDMA technology. If used wisely then CDMA can earn far more money to them and far more facilities to consumers atleast on data side. Reliance yet to realize that providing cheaper data on CDMA can be great revenue earner for them. RWORLD is closed ended approach.

RUIM are supposed be available from WW or WWE. If you cant get it, you may get it for 200-350 bucks. Else buy cheap classic handset from WWE / WW and tell them to transfer your existing number to new handset and use that ruim. Can you post phone details here?
