Hello, I want one handset which supports conversation recording. PPC 6700 do not support the same and I checked possibility with CDMA handset but except for PALM OS phones no CDMA phones support it. Also now I am in no mood of spending money on Locked / crippled handsets like reliance / tata. Infact my preference will be that I use new connection for Data and incoming needs and my existing reliance for outgoing calls. I was thinking to go for Sony P990i and dump my reliance connection but it is not feasible. Hence I reuest members to suggest me cheap GSM handset which supports conversation recording upto 2 hours. (To record my conference calls with consent of all parties) I found only 1 handset i.e. LG Dynamite 200 http://www.lgezbuy.com/productdisplay.aspx...67&catid=71 I can also consider symbian OS phone. But I do not want to spend too much and also phone should not be too big like Nokia 6600 Thanks in advance

Still contemplating. I do not want to spend too much till portability of number. Will definately go for GSM for all my voice requirement, even if it remains little expensive. 'coz atleast you use handset of your choice and more over handset which meets your requirement. CDMA handset do not meet all requirements. I was told by Sellers. Beep sound may not be accetable as I am gonna record business calls. To safeguard myself in case of any problem.

16 k on bebay or say 100-200 $ stuff is somwthing one will never like. They are usually not of good quality and questionable condition

Check with another card, it may be recognized. Some time this happens. Especially these days with so many duplicate cards. Even experts can not recognize what is origianl and what is not.

Then what is suggestion? I was also thinking to buy Sony p910 / 990 if I get for 8/10k in good condition. 6600 is good choice but could not find anywhere. I am really not for CAM. I chose E 60 which is without can but now discontinued. E50 is cheapest symbian available.

I think Reliance and samsung has some problem After Samsung slim there is not new handset from reliance. Some on in forum posted about possibility of Duo unlock, search.

May be subsidized handset is tool for them and spectrum efficiency gives them edge over GSM for air time charges. Ofcourse move is surprising and unexpected.

Yes, on reliance, been using since last 2 days. Only thing do not work is my menu. Phone reboots if my menu key is pressed. 999X4 phone book, 100 SMS storage and RUIM + Samsung is far superior than any LG's and no comparision with Classics. Ofcourse Samsung softwares are not as matured as Nokia.

These kind of problems are always there in used stuff. I too made some losses when I imported few 6600. One of them konked off just because of loose screw inside, which tore off flexible cable. And phone became useless. Out of say 100 phones 2-5 may have some or the other problem. But then you are saving about 50% on original cost. Such purchases has to be made cautiously. Even if you read about ebay.com they too have same stories every where. If you take example of used certified cars, then certified cars with warranty are about 20-40% expensive than prevailing market rate. So nothing is free. If we see on e bay, 6700 are available from US $ 110 to $ 250. $ 250 stuff is really good and $ 110 stuff has high claims but not support.

Indicom do have good handset, yesterday only I bought Hero NXT, for 1200 and 200 bucks for unlock. But really good handset also had an opportunity to see FLO and DUO handset. Very slick, good display handsets. Even at times seems superior than Nokia CDMA handsets. Only problem is they are locked and do not accept Reliance RUIM. Hope we get unlocked Samsung TATA handset soon.

Reliance if gets GSM I am sure it will be another price and quality war. Reliance dod changed indian telecom scenario

No thats not true, Reliance ruim is rejected by GSM handsets and SIMS are rejected by CDMA handsets. I have both.
