Some body in this forum mentioned that he bought VX 6600 from E bay and has not RUIM support. I could not find that post. If the guy who bought it is interested in enabling RUIM, than he can send me handset. I will try to enable RUIM on it. Ofcourse there is a risk of handset getting spoilt. If interested, pl. Some times, especially with Samsung diagnostic processes are possible with serial. Now ofcourse man samsung CDMA phone can be unlocked with USB. I just want to know thhat there is no serial cable available. If your frnd is in tata you can ask him to inquire with samsung service station. Also he can help you to get it unlocked.

Please can you Just check if Serial cables are available? If yes, then I will try to buy and unlock.

Thanks a lot for guidance. Is it RUIM enabled phone? Sorry I saw it in product note, yes it supports RUIM How is user interface, data syncronisation etc? I have never been too comfortable with LG.

CDMA locks are difficult to crack. More so because it is CDMA, not so widely used technology hence fewer no of crackers. Rather it is better to get handset from China / Korea. I am sure there will not be cracker available for this phone. Because if you see manual no mention of data cable / data connectivity with computer. Hence it will be very difficult to get data cable for cracking too. Else appears to be a good phone. Also it does not seems to be supporting CDMA + GSM it seems to be CDMA or GSM.

Probably it will be locked. You can buy handset with prepaid connection. I have a belief that if you insert first RUIM of reliance it may lock to reliance RUIM. May be wrong.

Good info. Tata has been doing activation since long. But not Reliance.

I dont know about this error. Check firewall firewall usually create problem with AS4.3 and above

Its really stupid to pay for outdated 6600. Rather you get 3 6700 for the same price. THough 6600 is good handset, it is not as good as 6700. Except for screen size. 6700 is better. I have a belief that if I have paid for solution, then I paid for my own reasons, and if i have recovered my money from others then I will offer it for free. Most people get many free solutions on net and thats why net is so popular.

No you are not alone, that is bug with reliance system thats the reason why reliance 6700 do not support delivery reports.

Cybron voice dialI found to be the best. MS is lousy as you said for American or british accent as per version it is made for.

LMS is treated by system as multipart SMS. Sender handset convert in to parts and send to system, receiver handset rejoins. In CDMA it is always SP controlled stuff. In GSM they have better standard practices than CDMA. So behavour may be strange.

I know its tougher not impossible. In hopes of 6800 one should not stop using 6700, how sadik will earn then?

Give me number, It is RUIM enabled and can be used on tata and / OR Reliance. It supports one SIM and CDMA network only. No GSM network.

Dont dream mugal right now. Its still distant. 6700 is really good handset especially with hetals ROM. Its faster, stable and cheaper.

my PPC 6700 can compose SMS and send in multiple parts i typed upto 480 chars (3 messages) and receiver has received all 3 msgs. BTW I bought it from sadik.

Daxian is good chinese company who makes daxian PDA too. I have seen its linux based PDA in china. In India too we will get daxian soon as they are in talks with Tata and reliance.. http://www.daxiantelecom.com/english/product/cdma.asp

I think reliances new data card is RUIM based. Ruim or Non RUIM does not have any impact on speed. RUIM makes it usable as handset too. If you are not looking for roaming all over India (just your city) consider BSNL too. Else reliance or tata are two options.

if CD / DVD mechanism is eliminated then system become compact, cheaper and more reliable. In any goven product people preferences are there but it should not stop us from thinking.
