Well friends, I've bought it from reliance. I don't think i would be interested in teasing them. I'd like to know as who'll have bought from reliance and updated the rom by hetal? I wanted to see the handsets live if possible. This is my 1st ppc, also never have flashed roms. So wanted to be really sure on what's happening. Let me also throw light on the poor quality handset of reliance. Since saturday night my phone does not connect to reliance network. I restarted, hard reset done. The radio module is not mounting. On restart, it shows the radio no, also in the device info it does not show. My uncle bought with me and he cannot hear anything nor can the other person hear. Utstar is getting that part from Taiwan. I think after spending Rs. 33000, I don't think anyone would expect such cheap stuff. I wish I would have known then I would have worked my way out earlier. Vishal It is really sad that 33k phone has such problems. My observation after seeing XV 6600 from spring V/s PDA sold by tata, then Nokia GSM handset (Model I forgot) V/s same model sold in India, Kjam sold in India V/s Kjam equivellent from US, I believe that products sold in Asia in general and INdia in particular are sub standard product then sold in EU and US. For example: 1. US VX 6600 has 128 MB ROM & RAM against 64 MB ROM and RAM in china and India 2. If you compare 6700 with K jam sold in India, K jam has inferior display, inferior finish. 3. Nokia I saw from UK had far better 1.3 MP cam than I have seen so far on Nokia. Also had far better aesthetics than equivellent Indian model. Infact I started believeing that its better to buy handset from US and then use it in India is better than buying from India.

I dont think it is economically feasible to provide net on cheaper handset. Due to cost of chip.

Not very useful till our roads are named properly and addresses are straighten up. Our addresses are usually near this, behind that, above this hotel and under shadow of banian tree. Till then its not very useful. I have seen it. It is good to know your speed, location from particular point.

I truely wish that profits are made as per these simple straight line methods. Bl**dy profits are far lesser than it appears on paper.

I have read that Treo 650 can be MADE TO USE on reliance network. Battery life of 6700 is pretty decent in all the manner. Ofcourse standby time is not I really appreciate. But I consider reliance responsible for that rather than PDA. Reliance network is deteriorating day by day. Rather becoming over crowded and CDMA has tendancy to make handset consume more power in case of network congestion.

I will always suggest AMD over intel as its a matter of 10K plus performance. 35K is damn good for PC. You can get I think even gaming PC at this price. With same 10K you can increase RAM and graphic card with memory which can increase performance. Remember reviews on web or on sites are usually with graphic cards with dedicated memory where as we talk about shared memory. Which affects performance very badly. My lappy is faster even after 2 years because it is having 512 MB dedicated memory. Had it been shared it would have been max 128 MB. Graphic board memories are faster than RAM and uses different channels for I/O. (I dont know much, lay men language)

Frankly I am AMD lover and using since AMD K4 (Equivellent to 486) Its really far better processor than Intel. Only draw back as you mentioned is Power cosnumption (10-15% higher) and resell value. My current laptop is HP PAvillion zv5000 with AMDAthlon 64 bit processor. Running 32 bit XP but its still better than Intel core2. I dont know about Core2duo. I am sure AMD turion will be better than core2duo. Byuing AMD means you save 10K and in any case price of this lappy will be lower by 10k and resell I dont know. MAy be 10K.

I will suggest HP COMPAQ 3225, I bought it for mt frnd yesterday for 32.8K. HP / COmpaq are having altec lansing speakers

Do phone reset, sync time with network, reset phone agains and see if it solves your problem.

Flashing CE ROM should not have any effect on out going. What happens when some one calls you? Elaborate

It seems to have better battery life than 1.27. You have to flash using utility hetal already provided in his ROM. Read all instructions carefully and follow exactly as siad if not comfortable as here

I think 3G or EVDO is yet too far for India. Due to reasons like, WiMax/wifi is cheaper alternate, still 90% of mobile users do not use data services and data services do not yield good revenue etc. Ofcourse CDMA is way better than GSM for data. Even WCDMA or HSDPA. CDMA too is HSD.

Too much of discussion of not so important product, iphone or ipod or imac or windows mobile, nothing is perfect. Up gradations are inevitable, that is the reason why hetal could produce better ROM than UTSTARCOM Most gadgets gets better and better with time and it is law of business not to introduce (Does not meant they can not design or make) perfect product in first go. Else when people wants change, producer will not be in position to offer any better product.

I dont think IPHONE is business phone.
