Hetal's Aku 3.5.4.c With Bm Radio 1.41 And Esmertec Java 1.2
kshah replied to HetalDP's topic in HTC
RUIM fuction, your MIN, ESN, AKEY, data configs are noever touched by radio rom flashes. They remain as it is. So dont worry, seems RADIO rom 1.41 has better battery life and network latching. -
It is more related to battery than ROM. My obeservation is that RAdio consumnes far more power than any thing else. Second best power consumenr is LCD backlight and then LCD itself. I hace kept settings Shut off device after 1 min. Backlit after 10 sec and has practice to switch off backlit immediately. In general this is first PDA I am happy with battery life. My 6600 was used to give me 90-100 mins of talk time and 24 hours standby. Also I dont use PDA for movies and music.
-
I installed XCPU scallar and chcecked power consumption by ACB power meter. To my surprise I found that 6700 consumes more power with Scalling than WM5 power management. Any body has checked?
-
Its not gr8 space saver but no point in wasting time and efforts in hope that such things will save battery.
-
After about week of extensive trials I dumped XCPU today.
-
I dont know some how I was unable to reflash my sprint phone with any of hetals flash. It either never came up or hanged in between. I have solved many problems but this time I failed. Safari for PC not PPC.
-
You can consider even MOTORAZR, i have seen java application for MOTO SLIM call recording. Nokia CDMA do not allow, though there is setting of call recording in Diego.
-
I find autoscale waste of resources. May be for stand alone PDA its good to conserve even little battery but we have guzzler phone that too on reliance network, which really need EXTRA POWERFUL BATTERIES. In my office phone's network bar reaches to ZERO atleast once a minute and I am lucky if my 10% - 15% calls are not dropped
-
Ditto, Helmi_C's r4 kitchen and added couple of apps from hetal too. I am no expert about adding apps to kitchen from CAB files. Hetals rom is too loaded and I cant flash phone successfully. So I decided to have mine with only necessary stuff, bare essential to keep phone fast, lean and also which protacts data properly. BTW, I started using SAFARI browser today, will post reviews after few days.

Apple products seen so far are real good product. Cost is proportionate to the quality and performance. Apple products are best performers hence they may charge premium.
-
BTW my battery last for about 150-170 mins of talk time (Recharge every night). If I drain it till 10%. With less talk time about 40 hours of standby and 100 mins talk time.

Yesterday I did more experiments. ACB power meter measures only PDA battery consumption and do not includes RADIO stake's consumption. With XCPU scalar even if we make frequencies to 108 Mhz there is hardly average 1 mAH power consumption difference. Means more power is consumed by RADIO rather than PDA. (Not my reserch, just concluding) I have not overclocked CPU so far, but underclocking power consumption data shows that there will not be even loss of 5% battery life with overclocking. as there is hardly any change in average power consumption (Max 1-2 mAH), Less than 0.2% of battery capacity of 1350 mAH

Thanks buddy, hope it improves battery life.. I have made one ROM, ofcourse I am not as expert as Hetal (His ROM is definately more loaded than mine) but has put following softwares in ROM which were required by me ACB power Acrobat reader Contact back up Internet messanger TCPMP player PPC hacks Resco explorer PHM Reg editor SMS Scheduler Total commander SMS retyr XCPU scallar (THough I dont find it useful, I kept it) And I install following softs through extended ROM SKB group SMS Sprite back up And I install SPB time through active sync

I think CDMA is always better than GSM for data. EDGE max speed is 356 KBPS but average is less than 156 kbps and practically less than 64 kbps Where as CDMA do give more than 64 kbps If you want, you can buy one connection I have, Nokia 3125. Get that number transferred to RUIM, it is Rs. 650 PM, 1 GB plan. Use RUIM based tata modem.

What Internet Connection Are You Using?
kshah replied to rEdshiFt's topic in Other Broadband Discussion
BSNL Business 1200, Rs. 1200 PM, 8 GB, 2MBPS -
Hi, Even in GSM you get good deals, I bought LG KG110 (500 phone book, browser) for Rs. 1999 + 2 year incoming + dealer unlocked phone for me. Isnt it a good deal then any reliance deals? Plus Rs. 4500 worth Airtel to airtel talk time As I have always believed if one does not need data then GSM is good option and this is my first connection after 4 years. If feels so good because your handset is yours truly, you can use with any operator.

I am sure that EVRC will definately give better voice quality and call drops. Network will disconnect mobiles automatically when it tries to consume more resources. Reliance network is configured for EVRC.
-
Airtel Tarrifs are like any other mobile connections. You can use various type of recharge vouchers to change your tarriff. Its really difficult to understand for me but then my requirement is for incoming only so not bothered. As told, I am not required to recharge for 2 years.

I tried many ways for 5 minute cycles. Using XCPU scallar, minimum power consumption is bout 39-41 mA and without CPU Scalalr it is 37-39 mA. Not much diference but average power consumption after 5 minute running is about Without CPU scallar it is 57 mA (4 mAH, average of 5 readings) average and 3 mAH where as with XCPU scallar it is is 44 mA. Settings Display: 50% Backlit off : after 10 seconds Device off after 5 minutes All beams and BT off All programs are killed before power check I think I need to use XCPU scallar for few days before making any conclusions.

So you have in hand?

check that EVRC is enabled. ##PST Talk CDMA settings EVRC Enabled
