Agreed but in CDMA battery life gets affected greatly with signal strength. Practically when signal strength goes down, handset radiates at higher energy where as in GSM it is not the case. In GSM too battery get consumed more but not to the extent of CDMA. In CDMA even when network has more user (more user on 1 tower) that time too it consumes more power and that is the reason why CDMA has fever call drops. Sorry this discussion is off topic.

sadik, dont rush wait till RUIM solution. It depends on you how fast we you can have. I am sure RUIM will give you gr8 edge.

Battery life these days seems to be network problem rather than handset problem. I have seen that in most handsets battery life is going down day by day. I have also observed that notwork strength keeps on vary more than ever before. Atleast in Ahmedabad.

usernames : sam1, qnc and UTS@relianceinfo.com with respective passwords password, qnc and i4gE7DW are for RWORLD. Nokia uses qnc, old samsung and LG upto LG 2030 (asI know) uses sam1 and PPC 6700 uses uts@ as user name. I do not know about charges, but I am sure hetal's observation has to be perfect. Also all passwords can logon to network, but browsing was not possible. With special proxy for PPC I am sure browsing may be possible.

CDMA handset can support 2 nos on 1 handset only if company supports. Means system server register NAM1 and NAM2. So if company has enabled NAM1 for particular MIN, same MIN can not be registerd if handset send data to system that it wants to registered NAM2. So in short dont waste time. Many members has spent rather wasted enough time on these issues.

Dual mode handsets are useful if CDMA part is RUIM enabled and somehow still most CDMA handsets are non RUIM. Also tweaked cdma handset will not provide MMS and WAP services as they are bind to specific ESN. @ksh@t tata offers Motorola A 840 check with their web site. (But I dont know if it supprts both networks at the same time. Like youolong PDA)

dual mode handsets are available in china and in India one motorola handset by tata. Youlong PDA which is dual mode cost about 30K in china. Motorola handset in china is costing about 15K.

If RUIM enbled, really, coz might be SIM holder rather than RUIM holder. Unlocking handset is not illegal, anywhere in the world, unless one has not paid operator as per contract. Also remember that operator can lock handset any time OTA.

Since AKU 3.5 do not support active sync mode, it connects as network and some how AVG firewall do not allow activesync to connect handset. As soon as I deactivate firewall, it connects well. I upgraded AKZU 3.5 has some very good features like excellent speed, better color combination etc. But I miss following too: 1. Phone pad as entry method. 2. Speed dial button in phone. 3. Removed help. 4. WMODEM.
