Hi Meher, Can i use TATA motorazr on Reliance network by purchasing Reliance RUIM card? NO Ruim in RAZR. So can not be used on Reliance.

because reliance disabled wap browsing. Use PDA for fullfledged browsing :'( joking, its diabled by reliance. DOnt waste your time and energy. Many people in forum did it in past, including me.

Then u can not say 6600 does not have WAP You seems to be in love with your phone. Anyway. Anoop just mentioned his frustration. Agreed no phone or gadget for that matter is perfect. Also most perfect device can not satisfy all. Anoop did not clarified why he uses R world. But with full fledged browsing there are almost all options are open you can browse any thing. There can be RSS feed too and above all R connect is much much cheaper than R world. He need network code to may be call forward etc. @ anoop Battery performance of any phone could be bad for few days if network has problem. I have seen such erratic behavour in all my phones some times. Features of all phones varies. SOme times service providers specifically block features (its practically more applicable to CDMA operators every where)

@ petar Frankly speaking I neither confident as you said, not have complete detail. I read a lot about 6600 on net and feel that flashing using image of my handset could be possible. Then comes the issue of soldering SIM socket on PCB. It can be managed. @ Breaking News I do not have flasher. I have flash files. I have experimented flashing my phone with non ruim flash and it worked (Flashing only, not phone) so I believe if 6600 RUIM is not disabled by removing hardware components, then NON RUIM can be flashed to RUIM. THere is a risk of handset getting damaged.

Some body in this forum mentioned that he bought VX 6600 from E bay and has not RUIM support. I could not find that post. If the guy who bought it is interested in enabling RUIM, than he can send me handset. I will try to enable RUIM on it. Ofcourse there is a risk of handset getting spoilt. If interested, pl. Treo GSM photos has RUIM slot but has been disabled andremoved in CDMA.

I dont think any of LG or samsung supports AT command. FBUS too does not work with handset which do not support SMS AT commands. You mentioned that you made application or successful sending automated SMS, which software you use? If you made yourdelf, mind posting it here or give it to me?

I could not find any CDMA PDA except 6600 with RUIM. 6600 does not have embeded wi-fi but it supports SDIO so if one buys SDIO wifi card, then it can support. visit phonescoop.com and seach for phone, in specs it gives FCC document links.

RUIM or SIM card contains data like PRL in CDMA handsets. So putting indian RUIM GSM handset in India will not register to any network because it does not have PRL like data. No handset can catch network of other technology except for dual technology handsets.

Indian cutoms is wierd. SOme times may charge customs some times do not. Depends on declaration and cost of goods. As per rule, courier packages, even if commercial, attracts 50% customs. For laptops, Its better some one brings it for you.

If you have drivers for cable, u dont need to install dialer, just create dial up connection just like ordinary modem and you are done. Else you can download dialer as mentioned by rajeevjee

best way is to go to ASC and get reprogrammed, PRL and NAM settings are erased. You too can do yourself but you require serial cable and PST.

I think GSM from reliance will be good for all. Customers and reliance. Customer get benefitted on handset part, roaming and technology areas. Company get benefitted by reduced inventory and warehousing costs (Hadsets occupies more space than just SIM), will be able to attract high end users. 3G is going to remain dream for Indian customer as 3G handsets are and will remain very expensive due to royalty issues atleast for another 3-5 years. In the mean time Wi-Fi, WI-max will be economical to service customer data needs. I think reliance will concentrate on GSM for voice and use CDMA network for then data needs and lowed custmer needs as CDMA is cheaper to operate because of spectrum efficiency.

infact evdo/3g works best in 450 mhz spectrum.

THese handsets cost from US$ 700 - US $ 1000. We can only dream about these handsets. When I go to china, Oct 12th I am going to try to buy few.

No even if WAP is working, you can not browse all sites. With opera mini browser, you can many but lay out is always very bad. Even browsing is little more cumbersome. There are limitations for active pages, java scripts and plug ins. But WAP is more functional than stupid R WORLD interface. I wonder if RIM user will eve r get access to WAP again.

It means they will never enable WAP services for Non RWORLD sites. Belive me. Ofcourse now I am not bothered as I use PDA and enjoy full fledged browsing and e mailing.

You can know wether it has RUIM slot or not, when you see FCC document. Nothing else.

If its US handset, it has only GSM SIM slot, not RUIM. See FCC site for details. With shipping and import duties it could be as high as US $ 1000. Excercise caution while buying CDMA handsets from US suppliers as they are not RUIM enabled.

even benq are good monitors, I have 17" 8 ms refresh. With very little distortion. I compared with LG and Samsung but found benq better. All LCD will have ghosting problem even if refresh rate is 3 ms, but smaller the time lesser annoying. Ensure that viewing ange is greater and has non reflective surface. Do not go for high reflective screens, which is very much in vogue these days. I forgot what they say to reflective screens.
