My VX 6600 can record upto 9 hours 25 minutes of Video, with resolution of 320 X 240, codec used are MP4. I can see it on Nero.

Let me explain it in detail as I did it. 1. Most RUIM cards available for 50 bucks has pre defined SDCA and Pre alloted prepaid number. 2. Due to which you have to get prealloted number activated first by submitting document and may be some charges. 3. Once your documents and details are logged in, you can activate your number using *228 4. Once activated, use HCC to transfer RUIM number to any old blank handset. Remember this can be done only in SDCA where your RUIM is registered. You can not do it any where else. 5. Onc HCC is done RUIM becomes blank and can be re programmed for any Post Paid / Pre Paid GSK / HCC.

Yes, I Have it, It works on reliance with RUIM card. RUIM now available, not easily, but there are people in Mumbai who can give for just 100 bucks or less. Photos I posted http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=7379&hl= are from my handset. I am getting 3 months warranty. Free replacement, with shipping charges. So I imported 4 units and infact all are sold, including mine. So next week I am ordering 8-10 more units.

All 6265 buyers, why not to consider buying VX 6600 with RUIM? It cost me just 23.5K, to you 24.5 It has many more features than Nokia 6265. It is full fledged PDA, one can browse on HTML browser and not xhtml, SMTP / POP3 mail support, SMS, Camara, RUIM, SD memory card support, SDIO support, bluetooth, windowsmobile 2003 OS. Larger screen, so larger phone , extra battery etc.

One good news, VX 6600 supports AT+CMGS AT Command means people who wants to use it to send bulk SMS can do some thing on it. Especially DAPO users.

I dont know O2 mini. It has its own modem, so uses R connect services to browse and mail. WAP I think is not supported.

It seems reliance and tata are stuck with technology, they might have thought that Indian consumenr is as foolish as US who buys handset and wait for 2-3 years till company gives replacement or upgrade. Also they could not encash on capabilities of technology. They just seems to have thought that voice is sufficient to get good business. Users of CDMA who can give revenue are data users, thats the reason they chose CDMA over GSM. Else prices of handsets were at par with GSM counter part, initially and now. And there is no need to pay premium to Qualcomm or Reiance or tata for voice services. GSM is just fine for that. Reliace also thoght of having NTTDOCOMO model, which miserablyy failed due to poor content and greater competetion from other open ended service providers like yahoo and indiatimes. Still reliance believe in closed ended policcy like not accepting handsets from others, no ruim to consumers etc. Where as tata seems to have understood the need and they provide ruim, accept handsets etc. Even their configurations are open ended then reliance Else with widest network on reliance, if they really openup themselves, like china unicom which implemented fully ruim based network, I dnt think any one can beat reliance.

Same will happen even with WCDMA. Once patents are in US hand this is bound to happen. GSM is a society, that is the reason why costs are low. CDMA and WCDMA (though it is extension of GSM) are closely held technologies. Worldwide, many companies including telstra of australia, Vivo of brazil and all US companies except Verizon has switched to GSM. 3G and 4G are going to be dead once wi-fi and wi-max are there in market. Data capabilities are used only in urban and semi urban areas not in rural, hence for network ISP's it will be easy to provide Wi-fi or Wi-max at cheaper prices. Even in coming days, smart phones will be more popular due to lowering rates and open standards (Unlike WAP). Ofcourse this is what I think. May be wrong

Answer is NO. Reliance has screwed up network configuration. They do not allow any thing on phones other then they sold. Best way is to buy good PDA with RUIM, use e mails and full fledged browsing rather than stupid WAP and MMS. According to me MOTO RAZR does not have RUIM and its sheer waste of money. It has great looks nothing else. With PDA you can do following 1. POP / SMTP / IMAP E mail 2. Full fledge browsing 3. Audio playing (No radio) in variety of formats 4. Video paying variety of formats 5. Larger address books 6. larger SMS storage 7. Most office aplications will work. 8. Can send videos, photos by mail at just 50 paise per minute against Rs. 3 per mail of limited size or for MMS. 9. SMS 10. In most cases hot swappable memory cards means more memory. Usage of SDIO cards, means even possibility of using Wi-Fi. What you can not do with PDA or draw backs 1. Bulkier and delicate 2. Lower standby and talk time 3. WAP or R WORLD 4.
