WCDMA is definately more expensive than CDMA especially cost per MB (Qualcomm, Alcatel) of data transferred, irresective of speed at which data is transferred. Only advantage WCDMA over CDMA (For GSM networks) is cost of upgradation, if we read stats (Siemens), what ever may be the claim by GSM technologies, data speed is never as good as CDMA because CDMA is developed keeping data in mind, where as GSM is keeping voice or P2P communication in mind. Though GPRS is ideally able to transfer upto 80Kbps, I have not seen any GSM network capable of even 40 kbps. Where as in CDMA we all have seen good data speed. At time upto 115 kbps as claimed. I belive over a period of may be 2 years, CDMA technology will mature when there will be better SMS, MMS, EMS, DATA and handset support. RUIM is step towards it.

hey any one uses 64 bit linux or win xp? I installed win 64 bit pro but was not happy with the performance. It seems its half hearted effort like windows ME. An suggestion is welcome, as I want to use 64 bit OS for my Athlon 64 bit.

technologically its said CDMA 450 is at par with 800 or 1800 0r 2100 but I doubt intensions of reliance to provide real good handsets. It seems they want manufacturer who remains under their obligation, first it was LG, then they tried with GTRAN but did not worked, now it seems Huawei BEAWARE, as Anujit said.

I got BSNL broadband connection installed today. Its been about 3 hours and I feel speed is far superior than RIM. My observations: 1. Installation is damn easy. Modem is to be connected to LAN port, configure IP and Gateway address and go. No need to install any drivers. 2. Download speed I achieved in last 2 hours is 28-30 KB constanty ( I put 500 MB file for test) I bought 256 KbPS connection, means almost 90-100% thruput. It is under business plan (700 PM, 2 GB) double than RIM at same cost. So now I will give away my RIM connection used for data only. As of now I think I took r decision, as speed is really good.

I just got an SMS, stating, Now Roam Internationally on CDMA networks to USA, China, Malaysia, Newzealand. Its a good news, now if reliance expand network and if they forgoe their control over handset (Technically possible) than I am sure they can beat most GSM companies. << POST MERGED >>

the best part of sony digi cam, I learnt after purchase is that in Memory stick, video is recorded directly to memory stick not in buffer, so in case of power outage, what you recorded remains unaffected. Also it records 640X480 (15 & 30FPS) so quality is better than 320 X 240 when resampled for VCDs or DVDs If you are not too kin for video out, than S40 is equally good. Conversion lenses are damn too expensive. Nothing is less than 4K. So if you choose 3 lenses, it cost 12 - 15 K ( wide, tele and polarized). At that cost you get better camara. Only disadvantage is when you change camara, your memory stick becomes useless, if your second cam is not sony.

fianlly I bought S-60, good cam, very good color saturaton, very user friendly menu and excellent optics. Clarity is superior than that of my kodak 6490. Very quick power ON, battery life better than any other cam I have seen sofar, 1 GB card, 640X480 VGA video recording with sound ( I liked this the most)

one of my frnd is also incidently doing the same thing, he used nokia 2280, he says he get connected but data transfer is not taking place. He refered to some protocol too which is not allowing data transfer. I will get that protocol name for you, it may help geniuses like u all -

thanks tanveer, I have kodak DX6490, 4MP, gives good results even for prinnts, I did 4X6 so far. So I am not too kee on MP. Only problem with kodak is movie at 320 X 240 at 20fps. ONly sony in this price band has 640X480 30 fps. I am not keen to spend too much at the moment. Anyway thanks for links, let me review what users say. Only draw back of sony is memory sticks (Non standard) both S 40 and S60 are available with sony India. S40 and 60 has same specs except lenses and addons S60 can have, best part of these camara is AA size batteries too. As you are never "OUT OF POWER", you can use alkaline batteries too.

Ofcourse reliance is expensive but far better than GSM and at par with BSNL dial up most of the times, and better when lines are noisy in BSNL, Relaince networks are down too some times. No where near to BSNL broad band. BSNL broad band is far better than Reliance. I dont have but browsed in Ahmedabad at my frnds place 256 KbPS line for few hours, pick hours, speed was about 16-20 KBPS, constantly.

Idont know much about Bluetooth but I have seen that with nokia disconection is very frequent. Some times phone get disconnected and computer connection is in dormancy, so even disconnectoin will not work and reboot is required. I tried with 2280 and 6225 both has same problem. So it must be the same for 6255. Why dont you write to Nokia, they may have some solution for the same. They are responsive.
