  1. Should RIMweb ask for donations/subscriptions?

forums are good platform to share information. It helps people find solutions too. However general belief is that net is free. Charges are not a bad idea. Infact nothing should be free. But charges should be so that it does not pinches any one. Rather than donation membership or subscription is desirable. Remember story of Akbar and birbal, where every one dropped water in tank instead of milk, thnking if I only drop water in so much of milk no one will notice. Also if forum is to be made paid, then it should be open to all discussion, I mean technical side too. Just discussing about terriff and ring tones and wall paper makes no sense.
  2. Bitpim And Samsung N191

can not use bit pim over usb cable. If you have serial cable, you can read phone but can not write any thing to phone. I havent tried new version of bitpin though.
  3. PC Sync Software for N191 Found

there is no software which can save or retrive SMS from 191. Even there is no PC sync software available. Why dont you forward messages to some of u r frnd and then save.
  4. Nokia 6225 Review!

Technologically CDMA is definately superior than GSM atleast till GPRS and EDGE. and at par when W-CDMA is employed but not in comparision with EVDO in CDMA. But again W-CDMA is distant dream for GSM and even if implemented cost of service and handset will be too high. Another important aspect is CDMA data is cheaper than GSM data. It is said that eventually CDMA is going to be the technology as back bone in future. Secretive technology means in CDMA user has little or no control over feature he wants to use. Even hand set change is in control of service provider. In GSM IMEI like ESN in CDMA is registered in system. RUIM hand sets are ESN neutral (they have ESN but not transmitted, it uses RUIM serial) too but CDMA operators are yet to free themselves from psyche of total control. US regulations are different, there mobile device serial need to be attached to a MDN but that is not the regulation elsewhere in the world. About business, if you look at big business houses they have diversed business. Thats not a bad concept but top management need to be responsible and sensitive.
  5. What Went Wrong?

Though reliance has many problem, it seems they will over come withtheir might, financial might. They can run business on loss model for few years, still can show profits on books and get finance they want. Infact reliance is dogged by typical syndrom, no empowerment to any one. That is the reason why customer satisfaction is very poor. About interconnectivity, every operator has similar problems. It is more for reliance as people are affraid of them.
  6. Nokia 6225 Review!

It seems reliance is too sure about their might. They have technology but like typical Indian psyche, they want every thing in their control, including access to information as well as technology. Though R world is good innovation, I dont think reliance has ability to satisfy customers in terms of content. Ideally if customer has free access to even inferior stuff will be more satisfying. Technically Nokia handsets are very user freindly as well as loaded. But in India most of its feature are wasted. Also CDMA technology being American it is highly secretive technology, just like any American technology, which looks good on paper but control is in hand of masters not the user, where as GSM being european technology it is pretty open ended and user friendly. Therefore CDMA is appropriate technology for reliance too. This is evident from the fact that though RUIM technology is more than 5 years old, most CDMA operators are reluctant to adopt it. In US it may have problem due to legislation not elsewhere, where GSM is already used.

  8. Hidden RIM URLs

It seems many of these site, which has openwave heading are tested for Nokias as I think Nokia are the only hand set which has openwave browser. May be.
  9. Information Needed On Gtran Accessories

Yes I wanna sell. I bought 6225 thats why
  10. Cdma Software Shared

Only registered versions can see files.
  11. it is in file nvm_0000 in folder NVM or NVM/NVM. you will find 1 or 2 6 digit code. One of them is SPC
  12. Nokia 6225 Review!

4k colors are far inferior than LG, but when it comes to stability, usability and convinience nokia is the best. I used samsung 191, LG 2030, 7230, Gtran from reliance and Siemens C35, Trium Geo and Cosmo, Sony J28 (i think, forgot number) Motorola C350 in GSM. I belive European handsets are very user frndly, then comes Japanese and last is korean. Radio is not very useful, indeed. LG phones are not very stable and are very delicate. I give you one example, in my 7230, when using R world, if you exit by closing flap, than caller gets engage tone and no calls are received. I have to reboot. Then number format issues, word wrap issues, you can not add number from received call log to existing phone book entry, device driver problems and all are still not solved by LG. 7230 was introduced atleast 2 years before. Even if you look at the language they use in PCSYNC, it is absolutely pathatic. One worst feature amongst all LG and Samsung hand set is, that it does not have beep ring feature. Either you have to put phone in vibrator or switch off ringer. I am not nokia fan or any brand fan, but cell phone needs certain feature, where ever you live, India or europe. Its not just about ring tones and displays or looks.
  13. Which Is The Best Color Handset From Lg !

If not SMS fan, than 7230 is the best. Excellent photo, huge memory, 1000 phone book, great display, 2 batteries, data cable as standard package.
  14. Nokia 6225 Review!

Satyam I agree with you to certain extent. Some time it seems Nokia is sabotaging its image by tie up with reliance. Infact reliance needs nokia to sell handsets as nokias are technologically best handsets. May be stereo type looks. I am trying to programme hand set for MMS, WAP browser etc but I am still unable to get necessary configuration details. Technically this is the best handset. If you see context menus of nokia and ease of use, one definately realize how poor koreans are in designing software.
  15. Wrong Info Regarding Nokia Handsets

R world is not available on 6225, though it is a good phone, user freindly as any other nokia, has one disadvantage of 4025 color screen. Camara is OK like any other nokia Accessories available are a plenty. You can upload ring tones, java games and applications to phone using pc sync application. That way control remains in users hand. There are loads of games and java applications available on net as well as market. If any one can get information from 6030 or 6130 of LG about native MMS, then Nokia has native MMS. Also WAP browser can be enabled, however I am yet not able to use as I do not have precise settings available. BTW any one knows WAP settings for reliance?
  16. Information Needed On Gtran Accessories

Do you want G tran handset with camara for 3.5K about 9 month old, good condition? I have it for sale. BTW it comes with 2 batteries, data cable, travel charger and desktop charger (desktop charger use travel charger a power source)
  17. What Went Wrong?

    nice article
  18. Phone Book Transfer @ RWorld

it was known as sim transfer initially, in which they will read your sim, upload it to server and then you can download to your phone. It was supported initially, when they did not had business and inturn problems. Now they are so engrossed with problems that seldom finds time for other support to customers.
  19. WAP Browser Settings?

Is any one able to use HTML browser in kyocera? If yes, can any one please tell me server details. Thanks
  20. Some of new LG hadsets are said to have native MMS, like 6030 and 6030. Can it send MMS without using R world? If yes, can any one peek into the settings probably using BitPIm or other PST? I am asking this because in Nokia 6225, it is MMS enabled but menu is disabled. 6225 has following features which are hidden (I could find out) 1. Minibrowser. 2. QNC (Quick net connect) 3. MMS 4. JAVA 5. BREW 6. 3G packet data. I belive that if Native MMS work on LG then it must work on Nokia, can any one help me? If I get solution I will share with every one. I just want to tell all that Nokia's are fully loaded phones but reliance does not permit all features to be used.
  21. Nokia 3105

you can connect nokia using DKU 5, only if DKU5 is original or its using prolific USB to serial converter driver. Else it wont work. WHich pcsync soft version you use? Use pc sync 6 or above. It may work. You can try using oxygen phone manager. If you use IR if available with oxygen it will be easier as DKU5 is really tricky.
  22. I Got My A-key Changed!

Did you entered A key to authorize phone? What do you mean by changed A key, how you did that? 'cos if A key is wrong, phone probably does not accept.
  23. All about Nokia 3205

SMS charecters are limied by system, I tweaked 6225 for 180 char SMS but traunced by system. 7230 has excellent phone book memory as well as photo memory. Quality of photo is far superior than any other phone incl 6225. But has very stupid software. Not friendly at all. Does any one knows server address for wap browser in RIM?
  24. Wrong Info Regarding Nokia Handsets

you can activate browser bu *#browser# However it does not work as settings are not made public by reliance. Some settings are present in phone when seen with nokia service soft. I am trying to enable direct internet access on 6225. If suceeded, will keep you guys posted. It may not work with R World but if at all work may work as direct browser. Which I believe will be great.
