  1. good find. I too will try.
  2. yeah, but at the sane time many people may find it painful.
  3. I don't know about Sony as not seen. Must be good as ashok suggested I will suggest you to look at even Nokia E-71, its 3G too, which I bought. Very robust OS, true multitasking (I opened 10 apps like browser, email, GPS, maps, calculator and few third party apps, without apparent loss of performance). Built in GPS, symbian means load of apps. But no touch pad, means browsing is not as fast as touch pad phone. Symbian has one disadvantage of signed apps.
  4. Palm Centro

Centro is possible only on TATA. Not on reliance. Till now no one knows how to put centro in BL mode. So no solution as of now. I have bricked one centro in process.
  5. I just switched to gsm and must say sacrificing bit of speed and voice quality then gsm is best. Its so much of peace of mind. Insert sim and your phone is ready for sms, mms, browsing, I'M etc. We cdma users have forgotten what's flexibility of handset. There is 1 handset exacting your need. Data is cheap but about 25 -40% SLOW
  6. Blackberry Radiation Levels

    but we forgot simple living
  7. Blackberry Radiation Levels

I dont think any one will ever say that radiation from cell phone is really dangerous, which I personally belive. Because Microwaves are using frequencies similar to cell phones (over 2 GHZ) Now I do not remember much but, initially microwaves were working on lesser frequencies. It was dangerous at that time too. Since microwaves are known to vibrate water atoms, it will produce heat on molecular level. So damages too will be on molecular level. I again say, we should not form habit of concluding that because no one could conclude we too should not conclude. We are living in marketing era, where many research are either sponsored or paid to hide. Logically, device which has smaller range has to be less harmful.

  9. Blackberry Radiation Levels

i will never like to conclude so easily. Of course thewre are no definite ways and procedures to define SAR. Even test methods differ for EU and US. At the same time, there are good and bad phones. As per hardware expert, expensive phones are safer because they can use expensive shielding metals and expensive metals for antenae, which has lower losses. I know two persons who get headach when use phone longer than 20/30 min in one go and docrtor say it could be because of sound source very close to ears too. I am thinking, what if we use BT headsets. As BT emits very little radiation compared to cell phones.
  10. BIRTHDAY WISHES!

sO As usual I am late in wishing. Belated wishes for gr8 year ahead , Hetal.
  11. It seems reliance is interested in being largest by number of subscribers(to block frequency) not ARPU wise. Those stupid people now relying on GSM to increase ARPU. With such good network and CDMA efficiency advntage, if they had been linenet about foreign handsets and if they keep tarriff about 5% cheper than others, I am sure relinace can be twice as big than nearest GSM player.
  12. Blackberry Radiation Levels

It happens, at times you become inclined because you get response the way you wanted. I give you my example, I recently bought airtel connection because I became bitter with relince for their decision of Rs. 1/10kb charge of reliance, despite knowing that GSM is going to be nightmare for me for data. But I cant afford such astronomical prices. When I sent airtel mail, they called me twice and sent me 3 mails in 2 days and replied me as precisely as I wanted. Means I am more than happy. Though I am just a new customer, who has not given them revenue of even Rs. 200 Where as reliance never bothered to answer me about differential KB charges though I am their premium customer with credit limit of 6K. Anyway, lets talk about SAR, its long term health related issue.
  13. Call For Alpha Signups

I think symbian softs can be signed (If you have publisher ID) for all IMEI too. Isnt it? BTW I have developer ID for my IMEI, if you want to try you can give it to me. I will sign myself.
  14. Blackberry Radiation Levels

agreed service provider is equally responsible to keep technology superior of inferior. Quality of network, load, etc are major factors. I don't think that people here favors reliance or cdma coz they r cdma users. Is discussion forum, no one has any personal stake involved. Btw we were discussing about sar.
  15. Blackberry Radiation Levels

May be this small reading may help http://www.arcx.com/sites/CDMAvsTDMA.htm There are other too. Lets keep on discussing. Will help many to choose the best for them.
  16. Airtel has 3 plans for EDGE (THey call it Mobile Office) This is as per my communication with them Its more than double. Ofcourse, GSM speed will be not as good as CDMA.
  17. some how call conference do not work even on my treo 700p. Call conference as told be *333 Connect first call Once connected, dial second call Once second call is connected, dial 3 and call, you will be in conference http://www.rcom.co.in/webapp/Communication..._conference.jsp
  18. Blackberry Radiation Levels

ok about stand by time. In cdma phone radiation and output is based on network load. So if you have observed during high network load time cdma battery drains faster. In gsm at that time call drops frequently. therefore in cdma there are fewer call drops than gsm. I don't about one way radiation
  19. Hello I request techie people who are willing to help this great forum to experiment on enabling WAP on phones other than reliance phone. I want to know internal configuration of phone. Right now I have no phone available for trial so please connect your phone as modem and do following and post results in format I mentined below: I want information on following AT$ commands. These are NAI configuration commands and it will give idea how WAP is authenticated on phones: List of AT commands and description at (Basic command to know phone is connected as modem and responding) OK at$qcmipep? (Mobile IP access, home address and identifier related) 0.0.0.0,1 OK Please run above commands and post results with phone model on top. There are many RIMwebian who wants to buy better phones from abroad and still use WAP on it. Perhaps this is my last attempt. I never did this before. I checked and tried parameters copied from nokia 6155 / 3125 to other phones but never worked sucessfully as there are few parameters which are said to be readable by AT commands only.
  20. None, but later I learnt that CDMA backend systems has list of ME capabilities. SO if your handset is not listed for WAP capabilities, you can not activate it. Also SSD data is not possible to read in most cased. Nokia uses SSD in text form but I have failed enabling WAP even with Nokia data.
  21. Blackberry Radiation Levels

cdma radio connects to network as per slot cycle multiple of 1.28 seconds. Usually CDMA systems are programmed for slot cycle of 2 means every 2.56 secods it pages system. Where as in GSM it is 1/8th second, - every second. So in standby mode GSM has more radiation, but in talk mode CDMA has more radiation because CDMA then emits continously where as GSM still 1/8 second every second. Therefore, standby time is perhaps same in GSM and CDMA but talk time is always lesser in CDMA.
  22. Because BSNL is working on lesser profits, see annual reports, BSNL has less than 25% of profit for given turnover.
