Hey, in now way I am going to leave RIMweb, unless, I am booted out. Its more of an addiction and daily dose of socializing. About reliance, as we all know, its not possible to quite service provider after almost 3-4 years. My phone will be up but it will be prepaid and I will not give revenue to reliance. My centro cracking project is going on. Somehow now reliance do not have that charm and zeal of Dhiubhai / mukesh days. It has just became "YET ANOTHER OPERATOR"

I fully agree with Hetal. I will not prefer to say even GOOD BYE to reliance. I am so annoyed. They behaved absolutely irresponsibly and they too have not replied my mails so far. I was to choose vodaphone, but vodaphone do not have edge in Ahmedabad and their tarrif are horrible. Data roaming in vodaphone too is an issue. In GSM operators, airtel seems to have most homogeneous network. I bought new E71, now in next 2 days, I will have my connection and will be using Airtel only. CDMA now till do not reach to openness of GSM, even if they come with EVDO, I will not touch. I really mean it. I wasted so much of time and money on CDMA handsets & cracking. Now tired.

How is the above possible? If one connects his phone toa PC, then it becomes RConnect? Then how can one access RWorld on the computer? Have I missed out on something? Is it possible to connect my 6265 to a PC and download anything I want? Ofcourse I am too late because RCOM has hiked rates, but nevertheless, I would like to know. if u use UTS and spice mobile UN & PW u can use on computer too.

I have bought new Nokia E71 for 20k. Now I am searching for connection. Tomorrow will buy 3 prepaid from Vodaphone, idea and airtel and check their GPRS / EDGE speed and then finalize my post paid connection. Hetal rightly said, why should we be in jail? I saved lots of money by using reliance and enjoyed data on mobile too. But Now reliance do not offer more than 5-7% benefit over GSM. And there is no comparison for handset quality and quantity wise.

Will you be comfortable to flash ROM? Do following 1. Download SPRINT ROM update from palm 2. download http://grack.com/downloads/misc/treo/RomTool.exe 3. extract ROM in suitable folder 4. Install ROM tool you downloaded and see all option, in rom source select option as shown in image. in output rom type name ventura and output type ZIP+MD5, it will create ROM files for you one zip and one MD5 5. create new folder in your treo memory card root named ROM and copy both files to folder. 6. Install RomUpdater.bprc (Rename it to PRC) and RomUpdater_enUS.oprc on main memory of your treo. 7. Run ROM updater in palm, you will see some text and then type "ventura" on your treo. (See screen shots) Be patient, it will take 15-45 mins Once done your ROM will be sprint rom and you will be able to see all menus using ##codes,, your codes will be ## instead of #*#

use firmware updater with reliance prl and update PRL. 700/755p supports qpst thru serial cable only.

Every one including telcos want to do frequency hopping, cdma do not require any spectrum for 3G.

CDMA 1X can give max speed of 156 kbps but 80-100 kbps is considered decent speed.

Error 3000 is palm problem and was said to be resolved in ROM version 1.07 onwards, but its not the truth for 1X, may be for EVDO. You recycle phone once when ever you get such error. Create your new connection, it should be able to connect without any problem if it is not showing error or message that your phone need to be activated and try to connect sprint for activation.

6800 and touch both are good phones, I have not used any but I have seen both and played for a day or so. My preference is for full qwerty key board.

GPRS gives speed of 40-60 kbps. EDGE 60-100 kbps (Some member believe to be giving 250 kbps, but its not true) GSM data is no where nearer to CDMA. Also GSM data network is not as homogeneous as CDMA, means in some city u may get EDGE, some places GPRS and I have heard no data at some places (I am not sure about this last statement)

Conspiracy is to destabilize India. Because all knows India is the most devided country in the world. Many of our rimweb member may not agree with me but I know people who works for UNO or their various agencies and they are part of wider conspiracy. Same here, I am gonna sacrifice my reliance connection. I am waiting for choosing right handset which meets my requirement. There is no point being with reliance even if they withdraw Rs. 1/10kb charges fully. How can you trust such thoughtless service provider? Who dare to even think to loot customer this way?????

I think they had some patent fight over 3G in GSM (WCDMA). So they might have resolved those problem. May be this is to fight against TD-SCDMA of china too.
