Try GSM KJAM stylus, I think its same and may cost you about 200 bucks or less. Since you are from Ahmedabad, go to mobile gallary (Shop on first floor, on judges bunglow road where AMPM super market is) Guy is expensive but you will get it.

In GSM 10 Ps/ 10 Kb and also data plans available based on voumes, see idea plan sheet in Gujarat and Aitel has following mentioned on site I think 199 is 30 MB, 450 is 500 MB and 600 is unlimited (Not sure) I agree to the fact that GSM data is no where nearer to CDMA data. But EDGE is to SOME extent comparable with 1X. In GSM no network is as homogeneous as reliance. GSM has too many disadvantages. Except one that you have option of service provider and handsets. Handsets too are much cheaper than CDMA.

Another important thing about net connect. When Reliance was introduced and I bought connection, I was specifically told that when phone is in dormancy, you will not be charged for airtime in data mode, that's why they said ALWAYS ON connection. It was acceptable by most users as that time no one was using smart phone. They changed policy too and started charging for dormancy. Now if you use NETCONNECT on your smart phone, think of bill charged at Rs. 0.60 per minute for 24 hours? Now according to reliance, only dumb people will use smart phones on their net work and they do not want dumb people like us.

Fuss is about 1000% rise. And also what is the reason for reliance to charge so high? When others are charging just 10Ps / 10 KB. Imagine Rs. 110000 per GB. Also it is not charged today, once their system is in place you are going to be charged. Now reply I got from reliance about charges my mail

I have infact decided firmly to dissociate from reliance. I have called guys from idea, vodafone and airtel. Once they give me plans and once I finalize handsets, maximum within a week, I will switch over to GSM. Reliance will be kept for incoming for ma 2-3 months and then despite being it prepaid, I will permanently disconnect. As I mentioned before, I do not want to give them even 1 additional number in their subscriber list.

Going to consumer court is very easy. It can not be done effectively alone. If people come to gather, then I can approach, CERC (Consumer eduction and research centre) They are pioneer in consumer activities and I have got results in couple of cases so far. I believe pessimism never pays, if we start disconnecting, I am sure they will realize.

It is not minority which is affected, most people i have seen use more VAS than me. They see news, videos and lot many other stuff. People like us use it for work and otrher use it for entertainment. Its indifferent attitude of we Indian. We have assumed right from the begining that nothing is going to change or our protest will not make any difference. Agreed, it may not make any difference, but that does not mean that we surrender to injustice. If we can not protest with flags in hand, we can always disconnect from them. My plan is as follow: 1. I will convert my existing number to Prepaid, that to not life time, minimum possible duration (Why should I give them 1 additional number of subscriber?) 2. Divert all calls to my new number, in case it is not answered (preferably GSM, Airtel and idea seems to be good option,none is as cheap as reliance in voice but I am determined not to surrender) 3. My first two monthly cost will be additional may be 500 bucks (If I keep phone off, else may be much lesser) 4. In the mean time I will inform all incoming calls about new number and send mails to my customers and suppliers. 5. If portability of number comes in between I wll transfer my prepaid too to other operator.

Install counter in your phone, disconnect as soo as it reaches to 600 bytes. u will be able to browse free.

With new per KB charges of reliance it will reach to Rs. 30000 crores

It supports USB and serial cable. After market may cost you about 150 bucks, if available. Original may cost u Rs. 350-500 (If available) I may have USB cable lying idle (I have to search) if you want let me know.

I too lodged my complaint. These numbers clearly shows that so far only two complaints are made to telecom ministry in between. RIMWEB members please do atleast this much, its FREE. If you do not do you will be robbed. I dont see many people reporting even at mouth shut, why every one has shut mouth? Do we have to behave like other who just make complaints, no actions.

I just now spoke to CC of reliance for these charges and lady transferred my call to Retention department, stupid guy in retention department told me that I have to pay all dues till date to disconnect. He did not took any pain to explain me any thing so that I remain his customer. Infact I am their premium customer, were my credit limit is about 12K and my call at CC is directly replied by CC executive. I get only two prompts, 1. for billing info press 1 and 2 for any other assistance. Anyway, I sent mail to limca book of records and will send courier tomorrow to guiness book of record with necessary print outs. I will rather prefer to opt out of reliance. This is the first time they made me feel offended. Whats the use of smart phone if I can not afford to check even e mails. Each mail will cost me Rs. 1 atleast (200 mails a day with junk, means Rs 200 per Day, aah what a luxury)

Its not joke, I am serious, its another way to make them realize how fu***n fool they are. Tomorrow / dayafter I am gonna do that. I will also post on mouthshut.com and looking for some one from media to give article in news paper in Gujarat. Lets we all send mails to editors of various news papers. Also lets go for simultanous disconnetion. Find out some site where we all can sign petition and send to consumer forums.
