Reliance Mobile Internet Data Plan Introduced Wef 7th Dec 2008
kshah replied to @mitJ@in's topic in Data services
Hetal, I am really not good at drafting. I am ready to sign any petition and also ready surrender phones under my CUG. Today incidentally one of our group company guys decided to quit reliance and now I have 8 connections to throw it. (They will disconnect in next 3 days and will switch to probably tata / airtel) Request to Admin Please open a new sticky thread with petition and lets send it to TRAI and RCOM. I have sent mail to RCOM and waiting for their reply. I am sure to now disconnect reliance if they are going to charge like this. -

I am sure, no one will unite and take actions. This is typical Indian Psyche, we never unite hence they exploit then we crib. -

If this is true, let RIMWEB show its strength buy mass disconnection. Are RIWEBIAN ready to prove their strength? Lets send mail first, then wait for 1 week and if they do not revert with proper information or revert their charges, lets disconnect in mass. I am sure they will realize. THis is loot, if true. I am ready to throw in my 20 connections (CUG). -
Its shocking and sad. May his family get strength.

it will be just a demo (not usable ofcourse)

As usual yet another clone of Iphone from samsung. Ofcourse good looking and slick. It does not seems to be smart phone with WM or linux. Samsung phones are tough nut to crack. There is no office apps nor any mention of installation of other apps on phone.

Incidentally I downloaded android for Vougue just before opening of this thread. Lets see hows it.

This is connection speed between two devices, it has nothing to do with speed over the air.

Nokia S40 phones do not support call recorder. Only S 60 supports it. None S60 available in CDMA. WM too do not support it. Palm and some or most chinese phones support call recording. Palm call recording is absolutely automatic, no hessles, I am using it since last 10 nmonths no problem at all.

If you want I can provide you solution if you 1. flash your 700P / 755P with 700P sprint 1.10 rom 2. read to loose all existing data. Infact I have delivery ackn available due to some error but I dont know how it has happened -
If I talk about customer services, in about 17-18 years of BSNL customer, I have not visited BSNL exchange or office even once. Where as reliance I have visited 5 times in 3 years. Hutch, Idea about once in 3-4 months of usage.

Smartphone With Google Operating System Set To Rival Iphone
kshah replied to Honest's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Google android too said to have as many restrictions as other OS. Android do not support call recording, being one of them. -
If you have local requirement only, consider EVDO card by BSNL. I am going to buy it in AHmedabad on 15th (The day it will be launched) Then rimweb will have another section about it.

Free windows firewall and free AV like AVIRA and Kaparasky is good. AVG 7 engine has some problem, if they have come out with AVG free with engine version 8, then it is good too. This is based on my experience.

GPRS is only in GSM not in CDMA. MMS configuration is not possible in CDMA as no operator has given configuration data to people. Also MMS has interoperability issues. Data services in CDMA can be configured (Non WAP) only PPP based.

I agree to sachin to quite some extent. BSNL is really good service provider. In GSM they have quality problem but if one looks in to the reason, it is private operators which stalls all expansion and improement plans. Most of the tenders of BSNL and MTNL are challanged in courts and stalled. Most of them are suppliers to private operators. It is surprising to note that about 75% of cases are rejected by courts, but expansion / upgradation is delayed beyond tolerable limits. Most private telcos are affraid of BSNL and MTNL as they have deepest penetration, widest network.

Gray market is surely more than what these guys claim. I have seen bubbling gray market in Ahmedabad (About 25-30 shops) crowded day in an d day out. These guys charge hefty premium for little premium phone.

email, net and unlimited storage are major reasons for me

Since reliance do no accept ESN from out side all ESN are bad for it. Dad ESN is not bad for tata as tata accepts foreign ESN. Basically BAD ESN is carrier specific, meand carrier has blacklisted said ESN and will not activate. Arranging one handset from US will be too expensive, rather contact sadik, as he mentioned somewhere that he is importing Treo 755P. Since he will order in bulk it will be cheaper even with his little profit. When I bought it was 189 bucks + 80 bucks for courier. Plus custom duties, I was charge Rs. 4500 or so. He said he will sell in just 10k or so. Dear Kshah, What is the price of Treo 700P and 755P? Where is it available? Thanking you Dr.Arun Dear Dr. Arun, I bought from ebay, US, but sadik (Rimwebian) seems to be selling treo too. I have seen him selling PPC 6800 and 6900. He is trusted seller on rimweb as I bought one 6800 from him just day before. rgds kalpak Dear Kshah, My friend is there in US. So possible to buy from US. (treo 755P) I should go for a clean ESN or a bad ESN? if bad ESN, can it be made usable in reliance? Awaiting for your reply Dr.Arun

I second Sadik completely. Perhaps right now this is the only OS which has little or no restrictions. It is faster than most PPCs. Superb battery management. Superb screen brightness and contrast (This is see it to believe if sort of feature). Very high density screen. Practivally you can not see any pixels. If you really want to enjoy phone with smart features go for palm. If you want to enjoy Pocket PC with phone got for PPC. Speed of 312 Mhz palm is much superior than 400 Mhz PPC. Palm is atleast 1.5 times faster. -
