EVDO can give 2mbps burst speed and 700-900 kbps / 85-100 KBPS constant download speed. Again it depends on network congestion and N numbers of asterix and fine prints.

Server IP is your proxy server. It can not be your home page. Home page if you want to use RWorld than you can put wap.rworld.com or some thing like that, It means that if you use HTTP connection you can browse on your phone. If you get connected using your mobile number, you can get connected using above usernme and password too. Using your mobile number as username means you will be charged per minute and if you use above then you will be charged per KB.

WAP settings here on RIMweb are not truely WAP settings. They are PPP settings. WAP log on is generally by QNC and it uses different authentication procedures than PPP. If your phone supports PPP then you should be able to browse. I am reproducing settings posted here on RIMweb (Not me) serverip: wapgw.ricinfo.com server port: 8080 server dial:#777 login name: SC810@wap.relianceinfo.com Password: PaEs98nsde Above settings clearly says that your phone will browse using proxy server of reliance. Means it will be optimized for mobile devices, will scale down images, remove java and scripts etc.

Usually in CDMA SMS are sent over paging channel, if phone is not on voice / data. If on voice / data then it is sent over main channel. Also CDMA SMS do not have message centre concept like GSM. SO I really wonder why SMSes are not sent if phone is properly logged on to system? THis could be phones OS problem. WAP can not be connected unless service provider gives you SSD and other authentication data.

As per my observations, Spice and UTS gives full access to net and mail. SPice and UTS uses same IP address + DNS stake. IP97.233.214.240 Gatey: 220.224.134.46 DNS 97.253.25.9 97.253.25.10 Remember using UTS and Spice connections, u can connect to computer too. (BTW This post is posted using Spice connection on my laptop)

This is very obvious when you switch from phones to smart phones. Its just a transition phase and I am sure you will like your phones and get hooked to smart phones. Its just a matter of time. My partner uses and likes only flap phones and he has been using it since more than 6 months. Good battery life, sturdy handset, very good looking and slim. Expandable memory. 2 MP cam are main features.

Updated : Samsung Touchwiz (f480) Launched In India !
kshah replied to Honest's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
I think Iphone itself is a niche, people want to say Iphone killers because Iphone set trend, they took risk which no leader one took. Think of proximity sensors, 480 pixels screen, motion sensors, almost perfect gestures, glass screen and so on. I think I phone despite having many limitations has created history and no one can replace iphone in true sense. Apple has proved so far that they create history in technology. -
Motorola only offers flap phones and K1m is good phone. Even people like MOTO RAZR too.

streaming WMV is possible with I think Kimona / Kimono player. But now WMV as file (AFAIK) -
First of celebrate that screen is alive. If RUIM enabled, check RUIM is in place. If not, may be hardware damage.

NONE WM mobile can never record call conversation due to OS and hardware limitations. Dont waste time. I switched over to PALM just due to this and I am happier than ever before.

Frankly I have my reservations against nokia due to very poor services. So I may not remain neutral while suggesting. K1m is value for money and V9m is style. I would go for K1m

Videocon To Launch Telecom Services By August 15, 2008
kshah replied to Arun's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
CDMA is not such a bad technology. It is handset limitations makes it bad. If you look at voice and data quality, I am sure one will like it better than GSM. True Wait and watch is the only option right now. Also virgin has offered nothing new. They targeted youth but CDMA can never attract youth who wants fancy of changing handset every fortnight. Their handsets too are overpriced. -

kshah replied to Arun's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Agreed, CDMA and its problem, but because service providers in CDMA wants to grow by monopoly, this is the problem. I too feel frustrated with handsets in reliance but then when I experience superior quality, I can not think of being GSM user any more. I hope reliance brings better GSM technology so that we have some incentive to switch over to GSM. -

Hope videocon start accepting any handsets in CDMA. If it does so, I am sure they will be more successful than many. With CDMA they can offer best prices due to efficiency.
