True, it seems AIRTEL is leading second telecom revolution, first led by reliance but eventually Reliance became "YET ANOTHER TELCO" where as Airtel started as JUST ANOTHER TELCO now becoming leaders of change.

I too was gr8 fan and practicing it before 15 years. If you are really wanting to buy weapons and going to spend more than 25K, then I will suggest you to spend 35-40k (18-20K tickets, 5days 10 K hotel + 5K food) and go to hong kong and buy whatever you want at 25% cost, remaining your fare + hotel + fun.

Best would be to spend little more and go for 6800 / 6900 PDA or if you know some one in US and want to spend too less, say 7-8K, then buy bad ESN Palm devices for less than $150. I am sure they are far better than Samsungs / Nokias. I do not want to comment about great CLASSICs If you see handset quality sold in US, you will be very happy.

My br new RUIM from tata are not using ESN. They may have pesn / GSM like implementation (I forgot what it is called). If Tata RUIM are acdepted by GSM handsets as it is for international roaming, then I think they are implemented differently like GSM and it may not be accepted in all phones.

If reliance wants to remain leader, they should encash on CDMA efficiencies and their wast fiber optic network and offer never before prices. They have financial might which no company in India has.

Thruput in wireless depends on many things like your distance from tower, speed at which ME is travelling, type of softwares deployed on back end etc. Also IDM are nowadays not optimized for dial up connections, so you infact get lesser speed.

Ensure that you build good antena, design wise and construction wise to avoid losses.

No UI change. It seems more of security patches and few system stability and related enhancements. If you have automatic update on and has all updates installed, I dont see any reason to install SP3. I did it because I never do automatic updates.

santhosh, i spoke to my frnd who is doing wifi jobs, he suggested as following. Instead of buying expensive repeaters 1. Make 2 antena install one on roof of building, put second antena in building connect both antenas with good quality shielded cable. 2. Look for car cellular antena, which has two antenas. He was sure that with either of this, you do not need to buy repeaters. Repeaters are not very good for health as it emits waves at higher wattage.
