  1. Credit Card Fraud - Hdfc Bank

Good CC usage practices: 1. Never book airline tickets where they ask your all details on phone along with CVV. 2. Always remember CVV / write down CVV at specific place and erase CVV from CC. 3. Do not use credit cards at un reputed places. Now a days there are hardware available which intercept communications between terminal and server and creates fake cards online. This was very common in bangkok and malaysia. Recently in CHennai and Kolkotta such hardware were caught with few tens of cards. 4. My another policy, I have kept one card with limit of 20K, which I use for online transactions and most transactions (So fraud is limited to 20K). This was advised to me by a person who is in citibank credit card division. I keep this card in wallet on routine days. 5. Never ever disclose PIN to your card to even your spouse. Never if you get SMS from your spouse mobile. Think, you will find reasons.
  2. Any Taker For Lg Vx9900.

uncalled advise to sadik, dont venture into VX9900 of LG, if you want peaceful sleeps. It will give you bad name as phone is not even worth 10K. PDA look alike. When ever I see this phone it reminds me of chinese manufacturer who makes even iphone clones. This is nokia communicator clone, with zero functionality.
  3. Seems Airtel is now in aggressive mood and what reliance did in past, airtel may be heading second mobile revolution. Reliance seems to be sleeping giant now a days. Good move, AIRTEL
  4. Htc S720 Doubts / Suggestions

There are SKB group SMS software available. Jeyo mobile extender can sync your SMS in outlook. There are softs for SMS on reject, I am not aware about. I think Ashok knows it. WM5, you should not loose phone book, you should try installing PIM back up and do regular (Scheduled backup) so that you have backup to restore. With Windows you have to learn to live with data losses. SMS / phone book back up can be stored on card, it can not have default storage on card. I dont know much about smart phone editions but do hard reset and do not let extended ROM installed, it will save you from many ill settings and operator specific settings.
  5. Htc P3000

Smartphones / PDA without key board is pain. If you are vivid SMSser or emailer, you will realize its waste of money. Rather choose one with sliding key board, I think 720, but there you can not edit documents as its not supported. However if you try Documents to Go, you can do it even on Smartphone edition. 6. Great Archving Software

I came across KGB archiver (it is old but relatively appear to be unknown) i compressed MS office 2007 installer CD of 438 MB in just 1.5 MB. I think this could be great tool for data back up, 1 DVD could hold lots of data. http://kgbarchiver.net/
  7. Below text is not mine, I got e mail hence credit goes to person who originated this mail originally. It's happening in INDIA... Government of India has an online Grievance forum at http://pgportal. gov.in/ The government wants people to use this tool to highlight the problems they faced while dealing with Government officials or departments like Passport Office, Electricity board, BSNL/MTNL, Railways etc etc. I know many people will say that these things don't work in India, but this actually works as one of our colleague in CSC found. The guy I'm talking about lives in Faridabad. Couple of months back, the Faridabad Municipal Corporation laid new roads in his area and the residents were very happy about it. But 2 weeks later, BSNL dug up the newly laid roads to install new cables which annoyed all the residents including this guy. But it was only this guy! Who used the above listed grievance forum to highlight his concern. And to his surprise, BSNL and Municipal Corporation of faridabad was served a show cause notice and the guy received a copy of the notice in one week. Government has asked the MC and BSNL about the goof up as it's clear that both the government departments were not in sync at all. So use this grievance forum and educate others who don't know about this facility. This way we can at least raise our concerns instead of just talking about the ' System ' in India. Invite your friends to contribute for many such happenings. SPREAD THIS MESSAGE IF YOU WANT OUR INDIA TO CHANGE
  8. 1 k byte is 8 k bit (So 20 KBPS is 160 kbps) not 10 GPRS gives 80 kbps. (Burst) Read more here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gprs
  9. Great Archving Software

You are right ashok, it took 7 hours to extract, then extracted files are not working.
  10. Yes it keeps a "safe distance" from the media, but the lense has to work at higher intensity to read such media... and that is likely to reduce its working lifespan. Also, CD R/RW media are generally sensitive to light... not just direct sunlight! Keep them in cool dark places... I was refering to physical damage. Intensity of laser do not reduces over a period of time as solid state laser do not age that fast, but due to constant vibrations in system and mechanical wear, focus gets blurred hence reading of medias become difficult. Focusing rigs cost lakhs so no service station has it, therefore even after changing lenses at times your drive or player do not work as original.
  11. New To Net Connect

Speed mentioned are not even theoretical, they are burst speed. So 156 kbps is burst speed and 60-80 kbps is consistent speed user can expect. If you consider total packet losses and latency, 40-60 kbps in CDMA and 20-40 kbps in EDGE (GSM) is fair dependable speed.
  12. Lg Rd6600 Rnet Connectivity To Laptop Through Bluethooh

Have data cable, install driver and start using internet on your computer.
  13. Anti Virus

  14. lets all collectively use such good facility given to us for betterment of society Now I am looking for some issue to lodge compalint.
  15. CDR/RW and DVD R/RW are difficult to read because they use dyed writable surfaces. They are photo sensitive dyes. Hence relective index of it is lesser than that of aluminum alloy foil used in punched CD / DVD , therfore more prone to read failures. It does not have any impact on lens and lens keeps safe distance from media surface. However due to any reason your CD / DVD has warpage, surely lens will get damaged. Thats the 1 of the reason why it is not reccomended to keep them in direct sunligh t / high heat areas.
  16. Classic 361

Dont go for nokia has very bad service LGS are said to be the best for Reliance or CDMA (I dont like but its my personal preference) Also try and consider Motorola, they have good phones. One flap phone I saw for about 3K.
  17. Htc S720 Doubts / Suggestions

No mobile browser supports java extensively and also most sites ask for browser as either IE5 and above. Hence bank sites are not accessible.
  18. Reliance Vs Bsnl Wll

yes Hundai, I have seen it and have used Hundai cordless phone too.
  19. Infact loss of landline should not be issue but in general PSU should not loose ground, else no one will provide services to non profit areas. Government should ensure that PSU tendering goes off smoothly. Private companies stall most of the tenders by proxy companies, who are in tender and then file suits in courts. Our courts at snail speed takes 3-5 years for verdict. BSNL has lost ground in mobile becoz of cases by private operator instigated cases by motorola and couple of other companies. I really wonder if any one says that pivate companies apart from providing AC halls and polite answers, are providing any better / transperant services than BSNL. I have been using BSNL since morethan 17 (total 7 connections) years and I have not visited their office even once for compalint resolution and with reliance and my past experiences of Hutch and AT&T,I have to visit atleast once a year to resolve complaint. Others may differ but I have repsect for BSNL and few other PSUS
  20. It will be great loss for cosumers if BSNL really looses ground.
