How about the Relinace India Cards? Dont tell me "substituting" a 110/- card for 1100/- card will not rankle anyone.
And what about the SMS Top-Up card? In which way will "substituting" the all India R2R sms card with a local-only sms card help me?
I am sorry if I sound rude but I am pretty pissed of at having almost all my fav vouchers withdrawn or substituted with vouchers of which i have no real use.
-
Discontinuing old plans is ok if done in a phased manner. Taking out many plans with one stroke can leave us reeling under the effect. Just think, I used to recharge with a 440/- voucher for my local calls, Reliance India Card for my R2R STD calls and 55/- SMS Top-Up card for my National SMS. Just think how would I be feeling now with the simultaneous withdrawl of all the three vouchers!
-
Now that 55/- SMS Voucher has been discontinued, will Reliance consider broadening the scope of 180/- SMS voucher to include National SMS, maybe at a higher cost?
-
Can anyone tell me if there are any 55/- SMS Top-Up card available that has a use before date of 30th June 2006 on it? I have got three Top-Up cards that will see me till the end of April. All the three cards have a use-before date of 31st March. If there are any vouchers available with use-before date of 30th June, then I will be able to use the SMS facility till around 18th July.
Please, if anyone has come across any such voucher, please tell me.

Higher entry rates to enjoy One India tariffs might be affordable for those who intend to make high number of STD calls, but this should not be done at the cost of ignoring those with medium STD requirements. Like Reliance, in a bid to promote its 11,00/- voucher, is slowly discontinuing the 110/- and 220/- RIC. This sort of move hits people like us hard who need to make STD calls at lower rate, yet cannot afford to invest 1100/- p.m. at a single go.

Thanks Puneet, thanks a lot. It cleared all my doubts.
I am sorry, in point 3, I meant to say that it will translate to an hour of call per day.
Thanks for pointing it out. I will edit my post to avoid any confusion.
One more query...if one was to take the 600 plan, he will be required to pay some security deposit for STD facility, right?
-
I am quite confused with On-Net and Off-Net calls.
From what I presume from Puneet's post, if you take the Plan 600 for FWP, you get the following benifits.
1. You get 600 Rs/month for On-Net calls only.
2. Using that, you can call any RIM cell, be it your neighbour's or on the other side of India, at a rate of 30ps/min
3. That translates to around approx one hour of calls to any RIM/RIP every day for a month.
4. If your calls are only restricted to RIM/RIP, then you need not pay anything more then 600 Rs p.m.
Am I right in these points?
Also can anyone describe to me what exactly does On-Net and Off-Net and Inter-Circle and Intra-Circle means?
-
How much do these CA-42 cables cost?
-
Thanks a lot Amar and Arun, but I guess I made a mistake asking the wrong question at the wrong place.
What I intended to ask was about the traiff on FWP, but I posted it in the wrong section. Very sorry about that.

I am getting an active handset that belonged to my friend form Bangalore. It's a prepaid one.
Now will I be able to convert it to postpaid here?
Which will be the best plan for me to make R2R STD calls under postpaid? I dont need to make ANY OTHER calls save for R2R STD calls to Pune.
Is the unlimited STD offer still valid on postpaid?
Please guide me. I am completely confused!!!
-
Does that mean that if I use that 375/- worth of GSK on a LG RD 2340 whose 3 months validity and free talktime is going to end early next month, I will be able to have free incoming on it for the next 6 months? I need it only for incoming.
-
Wait & watch till 8th jan new cards with less call rates r comming as per local webworld in my area & existin avalable will hav same tariff i.e. Re1 & rs 2.Can you please explain in a bit more detailed manner, what exactly did they tell you? Can we expect someting better? Like maybe 30 days validity on the 110/- or a similarly positioned card? Or maybe lower call rates, atleast for R2R STD calls.
-
Damn, this s**ks man! Now what will I do? That was the only thing that kept me going!!! I sure as hell can't afford an upfront payment of 1100/- a month to make calls at Re.1/min!
-
This will be a real blow if they withdraw the popular card just to pimp their more costlier cousin. How do they expect everyone to simply migrate to 1100 bucks a month when a 110 was enough for a 3-4 days for heavy users?
Can any one confirm this?
-
Service withdrawn??? All my friends who are using RIM handsets of LG and Samsung have this feature and it's working without a hitch. They didn't even had to activate it! It came pre-activated.
-
Can anyone tell me how to activate call waiting in Nokia 2112?
-
2 weeks is bull****. Barge into their office and demand a replacement right now. 2 weeks is just too much. At max it shoudlad take 48 working hours. You better threaten them or risk loosing the 220 bucks.
-
1100 will a bit to much for me to put in at one go. I think I will stick to India card. As I require only R2R STD which I get @ Re.1/min, I will stick with it.
-
Can someone confirm this?
What charges will I be required tp pay if I am to get a new Reliance IndiaPhone?
What will be the cost of getting such a phone including the handset cost, activation charges and security deposit for STD?
I need it to make calls tp RIM Pune numbers @ 30ps/min.

I am confused. We still have the 440 recharge voucher available here in orissa and I have been told that this offer will continue till March 2006.
It so happens that a fair share of market in Orissa is held by RIM in CDMA and Reliance Telecom Service's Smart Cards in GSM. 440 voucher affords free calls to both RIM and Smart here in Orissa. Withdrawl of thisservice can cause a pretty big backlash, as was evident from a such a trial run that they conducted two weeks back. RIM suscribers flooded the Reliance Office and demanded explaination.
I am going to recharge my phone tomorrow. I will post updates as to whethere 440 card is available in it's earlier avataar here in Orissa.
EDIT: Just got back from Web World after having recharged my phone with the 440 voucher. I asked the CC there and she told me that the tariffs are as usual and they haven't been informed about any changes...as yet. So I will be keeping my fingers crossed till tomorrow morning when I can make the calls and see if outgoing calls still free to Smart users, Reliance GSM neytwork.

Thanks for the help man. What will the SDCA charges be?

I have a friend in Bangalore who had an iPhone which he used to make free STD calls to Bhubaneshwar RIM numbers. After Reliance withdrew the free STD calls facility, he shifted to Tata Indicom. However, he still has the iPhone which he had paid for and is no inactive.
What I would like to know is that is it possible for me to get the handset from him, bring it here to Bhubaneshwar, transfer the ownership or whatever it takes to get the phone activated again and start using it for the R2R STD @ 30p/min scheme? I mainly need it to make cheapest STD calls to RIM number in Pune.
Can someone tell me what the procedure should be like? I tried emailing Reliance CC and this is what I got in reply...

So is the phone dead and of no use to anyone?
Please help me as I am quite confused with the reply.

Yes, you will have to visit the nearest Webworld and get it replaced. It might take upto 24hrs. If you purchased it from some other outlet, you maybe able to force him to change it immidately and provide you with a replacement.
I had a similar kind of problem with the 110 and 220 India Card on 3 occasions. On all the occasions, the PIN number given was rejected as invalid. On one occasion, the shop owner changed it for a new one as I tried the recharging procedure right in front of him and he was sure I wasn't scamming him.
On the other two ocassions, I was forced to go to Reliace Webworld, lodge a complaint and then get a new card after 3 days/2days respectively.

Someone please help me out here.
I thought LG RD 2340 has R-Connect facility. But from a phone comparison chart here, I found that it doesn't have that.
Now here I read that people have been able to connect to R-Connect via LG RD 2340.
So if some one can please help me out in this regard, I will be much indebted.
Also please excuse my n00bness.
RCV 440 saga finally ends!

Hmmm...maybe then I should start mailing them protesting the withdrawl of India Cards and SMS Top-Up card as well. WHo knows, they might be re-introduced if there is sufficient support.
