Well sync rate and attenuation rate could be found by opening modem page in browser .............generally the address id 192.168.1.1 and if u hv Utstarcom modem then click on the dsl status page and note down the downstream and upstream rate , Snr margin and Attenuation. Well splitter is must unless u don't have telephone connected.....also u told that handset is connected to modem how is it possible........ i have attached the splitter images...... to check whether u hv 1 becoz mtnl ppl generally provide this.

Just check the sync rate in modem page..........also is it raining heavily there? and ur tel is connected before splitter or after it?................

I could have opted it from u Anuragz however Idea network here in west Delhi is worst.............Even Mtnl Dolphin is better.......also i hv lost the faith in postpaid connection............prepiad rockZ
