  4. Students Suspended For Sexually Explicit Mms

i guess a girl of over 16 yr old can have sex with consent. the students here were 17 yrs old. so this is in no way pedophilia, which is described as a perversion in which an adult finds pleasure and is attracted to children. moreover this whole thing is so funny, rather than making sure that no such thing is done in the school campus, the Principal bans cell phones as if saying that it is alright to have sex for students but not to have it captured on mobile phone! Hello, are handycams allowed?

  8. Smallest Windows-enabled Mobile

After making an entry into the market here with its Microsoft Windows-enabled mobile devices earlier this year, Australian company E-Charge has now launched what it claims is the world's smallest such device, the Krome Intellect IQ 700. Targeting the device at executives in the corporate sector and business owners, the company also announced an introductory offer of a free Bluetooth headset worth Rs. 3,000 with the model. It also plans to double the dealer network to 1,000 across the country. Priced at Rs. 26,999 the IQ 700 offers Microsoft Windows features like MSN Messenger, Outlook Express, Internet Explorer, organizer, camera and Windows Media Player. It comes bundled with the RepliGo software worth Rs. 1,000 free. The tool enables users to view documents. Speaking at the launch, Karan Narula, CEO, Mercantile Pacific Group, said, "The launch of Krome in India underlines our recognition of the need of the hour. We are pleased to present the combined power of Telecom and IT through a unique, convergent solution with Microsoft that will change the way Indian business leaders and SMEs manage business communication and their lives." The IQ 700 weighs 100 grams and a 108mm x 46mm x 16mm frame. It runs on 1050 mAh Lithium Ion battery. The Krome range also includes three more mobile devices, Windows-enabled and compatible with GSM and CDMA networks. Priced between Rs. 17,499 and Rs. 35,999, the three devices will be sold under the names of IQ 200, Krome Navigator F1 and Krome Navigator F2 CDMA. E-Charge is a subsidiary of the Mercantile Pacific group of Australia, a distributor of mobile handsets there. The company said it would invest Rs. 50 - 60 crore to market its high-end Microsoft Windows Enabled handsets. E-Charge is targeting selling 80,000-1 lakh handsets in the next one year.

  11. The Rs 14.72 Lakh Cellphone!

http://in.rediff.com/money/2004/nov/30betterlife.htm The one good thing about the prices of cell phone models is that they always go down some time after launch. That's the way of price cycles in the gizmo world -- most of the time. But how costly can they get? Well, very, very, very would be an understatement. Vertu, the super luxurious line from the eponymous Nokia firm, can cost a bomb. Its top end model costs the same as an average flat in a Mumbai suburb -- Rs 17.22 lakh (Rs 1.72 million). So why is it so costly? Is it made of diamonds? Well, almost. The brainchild of Frank Nuovo, a design guru at Nokia, the Vertu range comes in stainless steel, gold, white gold and platinum. It is sheathed in the same leather used in Rolls Royces, and the face is scratch-proof sapphire. Ruby-embedded keypad ensure precise dialling pressure. Vertu offers two ranges in India -- Signature and Ascent. The Ascent range starts at Rs 242,000, while the Signature range can put you back by anything between Rs 371,000 and Rs 17.22 lakh. Signature line's internal design features more than 400 mechanical parts, while the Ascent phones comprise over 150 parts. Each key on the phone sits on two jewelled bearings. And it's not just the phone, stupid. Vertu, the company, offers its customers a concierge facility. It's something like an exclusive membership. The facility provides a Vertu owner real-time assistance for any problems related to his handset -- abroad, the concierge also gets you cinema tickets among many other things at the touch of a bejewelled button. Technologically, Vertu is no thingamajig. The dual band does the basic functions of receiving and making calls and sending SMSes. Though it can also receive fax messages, it is not MMS compatible nor GPRS/WAP compatible -- for now. This is because Vertu is banking only on proven technology. So who's buying? A lot of moneybag industrialists and Bollywood personalities, though officials at the Regent Store, which sells the phones in India through its Mumbai and Delhi outlets, play coy when it comes to naming or numbering clients. Abhishekh Bachchan is rumoured to have a piece, as do pop divas Madonna and Mariah Carey. The bootilicious Jennifer Lopez is said to own three. But never mind, ye lesser mortals, don't lose heart. There are still some snazzy doohickeys to be had. The new Nokia 9500 Communicator is worth the Rs 41,300 you would pay for it. It offers high-capacity built-in memory -- 80 MB, plus a multimedia card slot for even more storage space. It can work with office documents not just email with attachments and memos, but presentations and excel sheets (MS Office 97 onwards) too. With Nokia PC Suite and OMA Data Synchronization, you can easily exchange data between your Nokia 9500 Communicator and a compatible PC. The stylish Sony P910i, priced at Rs 39,995 is a mobile phone, PDA and digital camera with video functions. It has a fully featured keyboard on the back of the flip and a touch screen. The recently launched SonyEriccson S700i comes with a 1.3 megapixels integrated CCD camera. At Rs 32,995, the phone can store photos, video clips and any other data with the memory stick duo available with the phone kit. The company claims that data can also be transferred to other Sony memory stick-compatible products. Then of course, there's the industrial-looking BlackBerrys. The 7230 and 7730 models are available through Airtel, priced between Rs 29,990 and Rs 32,990, respectively. They offer email, SMS, Internet browser and organiser applications. They operate on 900/1800/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS wireless networks, and allow international roaming. Motorola has also unleashed the Moto Razr V3 smart phone, which comes for about Rs 38,000. It, too, is the whole deal and then some, such as a novel, chemically etched keypad. The company has also taken the wraps off the Mpx200, which boasts of web access with its pocket Internet Explorer. One can download music, video clips from the net and transfer files from the PC to the phone in a, well, flash. It costs Rs 24,000. Priced on a par is the Nokia 6670, with its 8 MB internal dynamic memory. It takes pictures with an integrated 1 megapixel camera, and even records 10-minute video clips with audio. More than just video playback , it's the piece's 'Movie Director' function that's a killer -- it allows one to combine video clips, add music or change styles. It is Bluetooth2 compatible and has a USB port. And yes, the phone can also browse the Internet. So which is the cheapest among the costliest? Perhaps the Samsung D410. For Rs 22,600, you get a slider handset with a VGA camera that rotates 180 degrees and facilitates text inputs in English, Hindi, Tamil and Marathi, plus many more. Of course, this is not an exhaustive list and there are innumerable other models that exist within these price ranges with many abilities. But the point is, if you have a thick wad ready to buy a handset, you have to start somewhere, right?

  13. I do not care as long as it does not affect our services and Indian economy in general. I think this should not be made a public debate ( like we have made a habit of doing in every little thing that comes in limelight) as to who is right or wrong, its their family matter and let them sort it out in their own way!
  14. 19. New Nokia Cdma Handsets

First i am not an advocate of nokia, i used the phones and described my experiences which were quite good. And to quote solitary examples of people having found out a problem witha certain phone, i can probably recount more examples of my friends with motorola and sony than probably nokia. Of course monoply has its disadvantages for the consumers, but how about pressing 5-6 keys to find a phone number from your phone book and even greater number for saving one, not to mention the ages these handsets take to send multiple SMS s(though it has something to do with service provider as well). It is here i feel, that nokia scores over others and as i said before my assessment was based on my own experience which was quite satisfactory with nokia phones, and as far as other mobile companies are concerned, they were always there namely seimens, alcatel, philips and motorola to name a few, even ericsson was ther as well, hope u remeber all those fancy phones ericsson had. There is no doubt that competition in the market is going to be beneficial for all of us, as reliance has shown all of us, but as every product has its own bright points bundled with the flaws i believe that nokia does score over its competitors in certain respects.
  20. New Nokia Cdma Handsets

i used 5110 whenit was probably the most common handset, then i had 3330 for an year and so. then i switched over to reliance and used samsung SCH for a year, then i shifted to GTRAN, and to be very honest and most of u will agree on this, Nokia was and is the most user friendly handset. dont u see how difficult it is to find numbers from the directory, sending multiple sms, saving numbers and the battery, god save me form all these phones with lousy batteries. blue tooth and all is fine but i need a phone that has easy to use basic functions, I can compromise on luxuries but the basic functions should be good and that is waht nokia provides. thats my opinion at least
  21. New Nokia Cdma Handsets

yeah i am waiting impatiently for the 625 but it would cost a fortune but i guess i am tired of samsungs and GTRAN and now i need the quality, and durability of NOKIA
