Blackberry is prominent in the news these days with all the big players like Reliance, Airtel and Vodafone releasing new models. Seems like every one wants a slice of the Blackberry pie.

Vodafone is kicking it off with two models – the Blackberry 8310 and 8820 and they’re priced at Rs. 24,990 and Rs. 31,990 respectively. Both of these models are GPS enabled with trackball navigation and QWERTY keypads. Both phones also support Bluetooth with A2DP and microSD cards. The 8820 also has Wi-Fi support and the 8310 is available exclusively though Vodafone.

Bharti Airtel is also following suit with the launch of the same Blackberry 8820 priced at Rs. 31,990. The features are of course the same, with GPS, Wi-Fi capability and Roxio Media Manager among others.

BPL Gets on The BlackBerry Bandwagon

Source - http://www.tech2.com/india/news/smart-mobi...ndwagon/18811/0

BPL Mobile not wanting to be left out in the 'BlackBerry' frenzy we've seen in the last couple of weeks has announced the launch of the BlackBerry Curve 8300 smartphone in Mumbai. Being a single circle operator, BPL Mobile currently empowers over one million subscribers with wireless services and will now offer the BlackBerry solution to customers in the Mumbai region.

Norm Lo, Vice President of Asia Pacific at Research In Motion said, "We are pleased to be working with BPL Mobile to bring the BlackBerry Curve 8300 smartphone to their customers in Mumbai. The BlackBerry Curve 8300 smartphone is an exceptional choice for customers that want to stay connected to the information and people that matter most.”

The 8300 has a full QWERTY keyboard and uses Blackberry’s trackball navigation system.

It has an ultra-bright 320 x 240 pixel resolution display with light sensing technology that automatically adjusts backlighting levels for optimal viewing in indoor, outdoor and dark environments. It comes with a 2 megapixel camera with 5x digital zoom, built-in flash, self-portrait mirror and full screen viewfinder. Photos can be shared easily and instantly by email, MMS or BlackBerry Messenger and can also be transferred over Bluetooth or USB cable. The 8300 smartphone also includes the Roxio Media Manager for BlackBerry desktop software, which allows users to easily search for media files on their computer, view and organize them, create MP3 music files from CDs, add audio tags, create play lists and automatically copy or convert pictures, music and videos for optimal playback.

For corporate customers, BlackBerry Enterprise Server tightly integrates with IBM Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange and Novell GroupWise environments and features a broad set of IT policy controls that allows IT departments to manage deployments. The price, however has not yet been disclosed.
