4. I don't think Invision Power Board has an option where the number of pages of Lo-Fi version can be decreased. 5. If you have trimmed down your choice to 2 handsets, then you may post in the corresponding handset's topic. Also, comparing 2 handsets one of which is a camera & other one is non camera and at the same time asking which is a good buy for the price won't work out well. It entirely depends on whether you would find some use for the camera or not. So either refine your request by posting your specific requirements or else post in the relevant threads for your preferred handsets.

Anand, if you have received that error in R-World, then you have to try it later as it is a temporary problem on Reliance' end.

He must be asking whether there any update in the R-World listings in Nokia 6255 as mentioned in the Excel file posted by Tanveer.

Because thats the unofficial launch date being speculated in the media as of now. Since 2000 ? I doubt if you are comparing it with something like Netway. As per their website, www.spectranet.com , I do not see such a service mentioned anywhere.

er, was that a prank on me or are you really very much satisfied with Reliance CC ? Well at first sight of this topic name in the General Chat forum topic list, I thought it was some old topic that got a bump as it had 3 pages and its been only about 24 hours since I visited the forum due to connection issues at my ISP. Good to see those 'descriptions' about other members at RIMweb by Rajan. And yes, I remember the days when we had the maximum traffic at RIMweb when the clonning topics were hot ! I do personally know many members in the forum whom I have referred here, though some of them just preferred to lurk around But still, its great to see new members contributing a lot to the forum these days ! Thanks for the thread, Rajan, hope to see this thread alive for a long time.

Illegal ILD Traffic - Infocomm penalty case
Arun replied to city02's topic in Reliance Communications
Infocomm pays Rs 130 cr to BSNL - Rediff.com September 21, 2005 17:06 IST Reliance Infocomm has paid Rs 130 crore (Rs 1.3 billion) to BSNL as part of its last payment due to the PSU for re-routing international calls. With this, the BSNL has recovered the entire amount due on access deficit charges from Reliance Infocomm in the call re-routing case, BSNL sources said. When contacted Reliance Infocomm spokesperson said, "This demand pertains to the period from May 2004 to September 2004 and is an earlier demand." He, however, declined to elaborate saying the matter was subjudice. Earlier, the private operator had paid about Rs 182 crore (Rs 1.82 billion) to BSNL and the payment of Rs 130 crore (Rs 1.3 billion) now would clear entire demand raised by the PSU, BSNL sources said. BSNL had raised a demand of over Rs 310 crore (Rs 3.10 billion) from Reliance Infocomm last year when the company was headed by elder brother Mukesh Ambani. The company had also paid Rs 150 crore (Rs 1.5 billion) as penalty imposed by department of telecom after Infocomm's petition was dismissed by the TDSAT. Although the management of the company has changed and is under the control of younger brother Anil Ambani, who has challenged, in the Supreme Court, the TDSAT order upholding DoT's decision to impose Rs 150 crore penalty for violating the licence. -
You may have to wait till Diwali for the next update regarding Netway from Reliance.

Get the Unofficial Ubuntu Add-On CD for Ubuntu 5.04 "The Hoary Hedgehog". Ubuntu has released their new version 5.10, codenamed "The Breezy Badger" recently, and its available for download here. Anyway, they are not shipping it for FREE for now, as it may take a month or so for them to start free shipping of the new version.

China Mobile denies bid for Indian telecom company September 20, 2005 - By People's Daily Online According to a report by foreign newspaper dated Sept 19, China Mobile is considering acquiring the Indian telecom operator Reliance Infocomm. The report said China Mobile is the second company that shows interest in Reliance, the other one being Russia's AFK Sistema. However China Mobile denied the report. A spokesperson of the company said, "Senior executives of China Mobile did visit India and meet with some local operators, but they talked nothing about acquisition."

99 was allotted to Idea, as I saw an advertisement in newspaper announcing about the new 99xxxxxxxx series by Idea.
-
Yup, nothing to do about it on our side, closing topic.
-
Yup, Rs.20000 is too much to expect from such a configuration, even though it is a Sony Vaio. Laptop prices have fallen very much that people would prefer to buy new entry level average brands like Acer, HP, etc. rather than going for second hand models since laptops have shorter life spans than a PC. Yes, its tough selling off a second hand laptop for a good price. Anyway, try your luck at ebay as well

Spectrum for Customer Base for 3G Rollout in India
Arun replied to @ksh@T's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Spectrum war continues between GSM, CDMA operators New Delhi, Sep 13 - Press Trust of India Amid the ongoing controversy over spectrum allocation to cellular operators, there seems to be a tug of war of sorts between GSM and CDMA-based operators over quantity and pricing of spectrum. CDMA operators' association AUSPI, whose members include Reliance Infocomm and Tata Tele-Services, today demanded that spectrum allocation to GSM operators be halved to 5 Mhz equivalent to what has been allocated to them to have a level playing field between two types of technologies. In a strongly worded letter to Telecom Secretary J S Sarma, Association of Unfified Telecom Service Providers of India (AUSPI) alleged that their GSM counterpart Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) was "misleading" the government by saying that they have been paying double the spectrum charges. COAI's members include players like Bharti, Hutch and Idea. "However, they (COAI) also admit that they have twice the spectrum for the same subscriber base as compared to CDMA operators," AUSPI said. According to AUSPI, government has a clear cut policy for both allocation of spectrum and for the manner in which it will levy a charge for it. Spectrum charges have never been linked to subscriber numbers. "Spectrum charges have always been fixed for a particular quantum of spectrum. This is the government policy and clearly mentioned in the relevant order," AUSPI said adding therefore, since the GSM operators have been allocated 10 MHz of spectrum the corresponding charges (4 per cent) are extaly in line with spectrum policy," they said. -
TRAI keeps international Bandwidth price cut for VSNL in abeyance till October 3, 2005 Press Trust of India September 14, 2005 17:38 IST VSNL on Wednesday got a temporary relief after telecom regulator TRAI decided to keep its earlier order of announcing up to 64 per cent reduction in international bandwidth prices in abeyance till October 3. TRAI made a statement in TDSAT to keep the tariff order of September 8, 2005 on hold till October 3, its counsel said. The order was to be implemented from September 16. VSNL had appealed for the stay of the order. TRAI's original bandwidth reduction order of March 2005 is applicable to all other players like Reliance Infocomm, Bharti and others. Earlier VSNL in its petition said, "TRAI has fixed tariffs on the basis of costs, which after having being demonstrated by VSNL to be erroneous, TRAI has changed its established methodology by adopting a higher denominator to arrive at a much lower figure of costs, thereby fixing tariffs at a low level. This gravely prejudices the VSNL as the implementation of the impugned order will force it to sell capacities at below costs running into severe losses," it said. TRAI in its September 8 order had stated that tariff regulation in international private leased circuit market is a must and urgent while calling for up to 64 per cent cut in the tariffs. To justify intervention, it had said the decline in the tariffs for IPLC half circuit services in India is substantially less than the extent of decline witnessed in other parts of the world over time. There is skewed market structure that is detrimental to competition. The services of IPLC are critical to the penetration of Broadband/Internet services and to IT and IT enabled services.

First of all the forum pages are not optimized for a WAP browser, and don't even think of Jataayu's jBrowser ! Also, this could be something to do with Google's WAP proxy as well.

You don't have to activate both Zone Alarm and Windows firewall. Have you checked whether the connection drops after a minute, after disabling the firewalls ?

As per TRAI, any connection above 256 kbps is classified as Broadband. Since they have plans above 256 kbps, Sify added "Broadband" to their name, all ISPs do like that even though their entry level popular plan connection speed is usually 64 kbps or 128 kbps only.
