don't think so. other handsets (LG, etc.) doesn't have any disable option too.

Please follow the MMS method mentioned in the Technical Programming forum.

thanks for the info, prateek !

Well, what is the harm if they leave those applications in R-World ? Since they are putting new applications inside different menus, it won't be that slow to access R-World. World Clock is good as it has many locations to select and Stop Watch is not present in some handsets like 2030. Regarding Webmail, they are now using an older version, thats why it doesn't work well !

Yes, I have brought tickets using it successfully recently. I had encountered errors when I tried to use it 1 month ago.

Times News Network, FRIDAY, JULY 16, 2004 How about a petrol station spread over 4 acres of land! Right outside Ahmedabad on the expressway linking the city to Vadodra, Reliance Industries is setting up a 'Rest Area', which will not only house a petrol station, but also have a parking lot for 30 trucks and 30 cars each, a rest house with AC and non-AC rooms, and at least four restaurants serving some of the best cuisines of the country. Refilling you car would become that much more re-feeling. Reliance, the biggest corporate house in the country, has plans to set up 2,000 petrol stations by 2005 March, of which 555 are expected by August, say sources. The petrol stations inside the cities may not be very different from what the IOCs, Hindustan Petroleum or Bharat Petroleum offer now. But those on the highways are seeking to change the dynamics of the trade. The company has decided to create two types of petrol pumps on the highways - one, which will be spread over 2 acres of land and work like a dhaba, with parking space for 60 trucks, a real dhaba serving roti, nan, and dal makhni, and resting space etc, and a second type (called rest centres), which will be spread over 4 acres, and provide organised parking lots for 30 trucks and 30 cars each, beside housing AC and non AC rooms for the traveller. The Rest Centres, to be set up with an estimated cost of Rs 2 crore each, will also have four- five top line restaurants, with an organised back-end food end supply chain and Reliance Infocomm's own internet cafe called Webworlds. Significantly, all manned by Reliance's own staff. The sources said that the new pumps -- 'dhabas' and 'rest centres' --have been designed to offer upmarket ambience with all amenities for those who want to have both, commute and rest, while on a long drive. What's more, all the petrol pumps of the company will be connected through an optical fibre network with its greenfield Jamnagar refinery. This will help the company to monitor stock position of each outlet and it can make its supply chain more efficient. Reliance's initiative will set a trend for highway petrol stations, as existing public sector oil marketing firms such as IOC, HPCL and BPCL are also planning an expansion on the expressways zig-zagging the nation. Other new players like ONGC, which has asked the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad to design its stations, Essar Oil and multinational Royal Dutch Shell Group, are also planning to hit the 'expressway to prosperity'.

Yes, it seems so. They have discontinued *4120 and *412 as per their proposed R-Connect plans. Read more here: http://www.rimweb.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2442

In one of the largest and fastest ever network rollout operations in the world, Reliance Infocomm has embarked on an ambitious expansion plan to reach out to four lakh villages across the country by the year end, thus bringing about a new revolution in rural telephony. "On the eve of our nation's 56th Republic Day, we reiterate our commitment to bridge the digital divide by taking the fruits of the Infocomm revolution to the vast Indian populace, especially those residing in rural India" said Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director, Reliance Industries Ltd. The company's 80,000 km of terabit optic fibre cable network forms the backbone of its countrywide expansion, which will facilitate unlimited and uninterrupted voice, data and video applications. This massive operation, touching 65 crore Indians, will cover nearly two-third of its villages and over 5,700 cities and towns. This expansion involving 8,500 BTS (Base Transceiver Station) towers will also cover 91% of the country's national highways and 85% of the rail routes. Eventually, the company's footprint will cover the entire habitat of the country. This initiative is expected to increase India's teledensity to 10% by the end of the year, ahead of the national target. The company has pledged to empower the people of India with freedom to communicate, and fulfill the dream of Dhirubhai Ambani, founder Chairman of the Reliance group, to bring about a digital revolution in India. "Today, India is reaping the benefits of Reliance Infocomm's foresight of choosing the right technology (CDMA 1X) that brings the whole world to the doorsteps of every Indian," said Kamal Nanavaty, Chief Operating Officer - Wireless Business, Reliance Infocomm Limited. Reliance already enjoys over one billion hits a month on its unique infotainment data application suite called R World. This rollout will take the benefits of these services to many more Indians, Nanavati added. With this expansion, rural India will also have greater access to the Internet, thanks to the increasingly popular R-Connect and is bound to take India on its path towards knowledge-led leadership. It is also an established fact that increase of each point in teledensity results in a 3% growth in the country's GDP. Reliance Infocomm has recently become the first Indian telecom service provider to cross the 10-million subscriber mark. As on December 31, 2004, Reliance Infocomm's subscriber base across its 20 circles stood at 10,298,208, according to the Association of Unified telecom Providers of India (AUSPI). "This is no mean achievement for a company with less than two years of commercial operation. The Infocomm revolution has just begun and the company has a lot more in store for the country," Nanavaty added. This initiative reinforces Reliance Group's commitment to the Founder Chairman's vision: "Our dreams have to be bigger. Our ambitions higher. Our commitment deeper. And our efforts greater. This is my dream for Reliance and for India."

Yes, lots of work as we need to integrate into Invision Power Board's database. Actually, IBP does have their WAP version called lo-fi version. RIMweb.com forums can be accessed using your WAP browser at: http://www.rimweb.com/forums/lofiversion/index.php but not on jBrowser works well with other GPRS WAP browsers.

So it seems yo have more calls to GSM operators and no calls to RIM. In that case RIM isn't economical for you as you will benefit only if more calls are made to RIM numbers. Anyway, try out the Reliance FWP as its bettet than BSNL landpone nowadays.
-
Doing that kind of service for commecrial purposes/benefit may land you in trouble.
-
*600 is for accessing Voice Mail. It costs the same as calling a local RIM phone.

The server was under DoS attack yesterday night till today morning, which caused the MySQL service to go down. The server had to be restarted couple of times after configuring the firewall. It was fixed by today 10 AM and everthing is fine now. Regarding the forum time, it is correctly showing for me.
-
Well, that needs more information regarding your usage pattern like number of STD/local calls, RIM to RIM calls, internet usage and SMS per month.
-
8888 Indiatimes SMS Service on RIM phones now !

Well, MMS often has this problem. Wait for some time (maybe days) for it to get resolved by Reliance.
