  3. Reliance "Ownership Issues"

Now, peace moves in Reliance group Senior industrialists, religious leaders and politicians have swung into action to mediate between the warring Ambani brothers, Mukesh and Anil, even as a Reliance Industries spokesperson on Friday ruled out chances of Mukesh dragging his brother to court. However, the board of directors of Reliance Industries had not accepted Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Anil Ambani's challenge to the powers given to his elder brother, who is chairman and managing director of the company, at a meeting of the board of directors on July 27, the spokesperson told the Press Trust of India. "The Reliance board did not accept the points made by Anil. The board finds no case for Mukesh to respond to the note," he was quoted as saying. Mediation efforts begin: Bajaj Auto Chairman Rahul Bajaj met Mukesh Ambani for an hour-and-a-half on Friday Ramesh Oza, family "guru" of the Ambanis and founder of Sandipani Vidyaniketan and Ashram, is learnt to have stepped in to bring the feuding brothers together. "The guru's intention is only to help the family and that process is on," says one of his aides Murari Bapu, another religious leader, is working towards a patch-up between the brothers BUT PROBLEMS REMAIN: A Reliance spokesperson says the company board does not accept Anil Ambani's challenge to the powers given to Mukesh Ambani "Whatever happens between them, they (Mukesh and Anil) will definitely not drag the matter to court," a senior Reliance executive said. At the same time, friends of the Ambanis have initiated steps to end the scrap between the brothers. Bajaj Auto Chairman Rahul Bajaj met Mukesh Ambani for an hour-and-a-half on Friday. "I met Mukesh today for a friendly exchange of views. I wish them all the very best," Bajaj said, although he added the meeting had nothing to do with the ownership issues that have cropped up between the brothers. "Both brothers are very good friends of mine. I have known Anil for over 20 years now and we are both on the board of the International Business School," he added. Ramesh Oza, founder of Sandipani Vidyaniketan and Ashram and family 'guru' of the Ambanis, is learnt to have stepped in to bring the feuding brothers together. Oza, 47, is known to be close to the whole family. While Oza was unavailable for comment, a Sandipani Vidyaniketan official said: "The guru's intention is only to help the family and that process is on." Murari Bapu, another religious leader, is known to be working towards a patch-up between the brothers. It has also been learnt that Digvijay Singh, former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, has mounted efforts at bringing Mukesh and Anil Ambani together. However, the biggest hopes for a truce between the Ambani brothers lie with their mother Kokilaben. "They do not need a mediator so long as their mother is alive," the Reliance executive said. The Reliance executive said Mukesh Ambani had not appointed legal counsel so far because he was eager to settle the issue out of court. Though there was talk that Harish Salve, who has represented Reliance Industries on several occasions, had been appointed by Mukesh Ambani on this matter, the leading lawyer denied the rumours to Business Standard. "I do not accept retainership in family matters," he said.

  5. Hotmail Rocks

Many still await MSN, Yahoo e-mail upgrades CNET.com - November 18, 2004 Microsoft and Yahoo have promised to boost storage limits for their free e-mail services, but for many users, the upgrades haven't been delivered. Microsoft said Thursday that it will offer 250MB of storage for new Hotmail sign-ups in nine markets around the world, including the United States. But the software giant had already promised in June that all Hotmail users would receive that storage upgrade, and many have yet to see the boost. "Essentially, our goal was to roll out the upgrades in a smart and efficient way to ensure as few problems as possible," a Microsoft representative said. "With that said, the rollout took a bit longer than we would have liked." For its part, Yahoo announced Monday that its e-mail users would receive a storage limit boost that day to 250MB, up from 100MB. As of Thursday, users continued to report that storage limits remained at 100MB. Despite announcing that its users could "now enjoy the flexibility of 250 megabytes of storage and a maximum attachment size limit of 10 megabytes," some will sign in without seeing these changes for a while. "We are pleased to say that the rollout of the enhancements which were announced on Monday is going smoothly as planned and that all Yahoo Mail users worldwide will enjoy all of the numerous new benefits in the coming weeks," said Yahoo spokeswoman Mary Osako. For Yahoo and Microsoft, e-mail storage limits are part of their attempts to remain competitive against the entry of Google into the market. The search engine giant unveiled its own free e-mail service, called Gmail, in April and made a huge splash when it offered 1GB of free storage. The service, still in beta testing, remains available only to invited participants. Weeks later Yahoo announced its upgrade to 100MB, followed by Hotmail upping the ante to 250MB a month later. At the time, Hotmail offered 2MB of storage while Yahoo offered 4MB. Both services charged subscription fees for people who wanted more memory. For now, both Microsoft and Yahoo say their upgrade plans are on track. The Microsoft representative added that all of Hotmail's existing users in major markets, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Spain and Italy, will have 250MB of storage by Thursday "or shortly thereafter."
  6. Reliance "Ownership Issues"

Reliance Shares Drop on Rumor of Ambani Family Split - Nov. 19 (Bloomberg) Shares of Reliance Industries Ltd. fell as much as 2.8 percent to a three-week low amid speculation about a split in the Ambani family that controls 46.67 percent of India's biggest private company. The ``ownership issues'' are ``private'' and won't affect the business, Reliance's Chairman Mukesh Ambani told CNBC-TV18 television on Nov. 17, without giving further details. The Times of India, Business Standard and other local newspapers published the comments today, prompting some retail investors to sell the shares, analysts including Jaspreet Singh said. ``There might be some reaction from retail investors but I don't expect the big investors to react too much,'' said Singh, an analyst with Prabhudas Liladher Securities Pvt., a stockbroker in Mumbai. ``Rumors of a split have been around for two years.'' Dhirubhai Ambani, who built Reliance into India's biggest non-state company from a synthetic-yarn trader in three decades, died in July 2002. His eldest son Mukesh, 47, succeeded him as chairman and Anil, 45, became vice chairman. Details on any division of the family's stake worth $7.8 billion have never been disclosed. Officials in Mukesh and Anil Ambani's offices wouldn't comment. There was no immediate response to e-mailed questions submitted to the Ambanis. Mukesh Ambani is traveling overseas and can't be reached, Amit Khanna, spokesman at group company, Reliance Infocomm Ltd., said last night. Anil Ambani is traveling and can't be reached either, Yogesh Desai, a Reliance Group spokesman, said last night.

invisionize.com is not loading for me. only the home page of ibfstyles.com is loading for me nbsdesignz.com's free skins aren't that great. They are mostly color variations only. They were installed in the earlier version of IPB at RIMWeb. Will try for a couple of them anyway.

LOL, you accessed the forum when Code was working on the logos for the beachcomb skin. Its nothing to do with Firefox 1.0 !
  15. Problems With Skin Chooser

I haven't come across much good skins for version 2.0.0 of IPB. Many are paid skins. If you find a good skin (not a forum using a particular skin but a site which offers the skin for free download), then tell me. BTW, if you dont like the skin, then just don't choose the skin. Whats the harm if it is in the list ? I've noticed that some members are infact using beachcomb skin for the past few days.

Fixed now Yes, I havent uploaded customized buttons or banners or logos in the beachcomb skin yet. Thats why they dont show up in it. And I do not plan to work on it either as I don't have the custom button/image set for it. The default skin is simply the best.
