actually when i meant toll free numbers, i was referring to numbers provided by companies other than telecom operators (such as credit card companies, banks, insurance companies, computer helplines etc etc.)
-
@rajeevjee, i just wanted to also know abt the toll free numbers, as to why cant there be a single toll free number across operators

net way is again different from reliance broadband.
in netway they are offering cable tv, FLP and a internet connection (help line no. - *355)
broadband is simply just a net connection (help line no. - *377)
also when u call the help line, give them ur PIN code, as the mapping has been done on the basis of PIN codes.
in mumbai broadband is available very widely, but not in all areas, but netway is only made available to reliance employees at higher designations

the observation that nokia phones perform better than lg phones is not acceptable, infact i have experienced the exact opposite.
i would just suggest that, u get ur phone checked at the Lg authorised service centre (would also want to add that the LG MOBILE service centres are overall the best service centres amongst all companies which sell electronic goods {white goods}), and if its happening only and only at ur house, then its a problem with the network, nothing much can be done abt it other than just finding one particular spot in the house, where u get the best reception(u might need to do a bit of research at home for this, but will be worth it)

Are u sure that only 2 people are enough to form CUG.....Pls confirm this to me...some 2 months before when i had asked, they confirmed min 3 people are required for the same.
only 2 connections needed, even individual customers would do, both connections need to be post paid and same circle, (although CUG is also available for customers of diff. circles as well, but havent inquired abt it)

1.R World -> Bill n Help -> RIM Help -> AllAbout93 -> Get93Number
2.Call toll free * 388 from any RIM or 3033 8888 from any other phone, from anywhere in the country and follow the recorded voice instructions to hear the new 93-series RIM number.
3.Type in the old number (with full STD code) and SMS it to 09366693666 to get the new ten-digit number by way of a return SMS
4.SMS old no. to 9393 and receive new number as SMS
try ur luck with these options.

@ kookaburra
this scheme is not publicised at all,
1st u need to be a govt. employee
2nd u need to wait in a very very long queue to get it sorted out at the airtel town office
3rd its got to be a new connection
-
airtel(mumbai) is offering prepaid cards to govt employees(present), with call tariffs as below:
airtel to airtel-10p
airtel to other mobile-30p
airtel to any LL-1.00p
theres no special voucher, nothing
just need to refill the connection with a Rs. 500 voucher which gives u validity for 3 months and Rs.351 as talktime, and in these 3 months u can use any of the top ups.

on my LG2430, theres an option right in the messages menu, from where i send emails to my yahoo account. all with subject and everything. but havent checked how much am i charged for it. i am able to do that from my prepaid connection
-
So if you want to become preferential customer, ensure that your bill crosses Rs 1000 atleast for three months continously. Also your payment record (pay before due date) counts.Logic is good but how do you develop it.... cos my bill is always more than 1000 bucks and some time back it used to be more than 4000 bucks.... not lately a year back or so... noever got that preferential treatment not that I call em up everyday... but whenever I do I go thru IVRS...
this distinction is made PURELY on the basis of your credit limit
-
I dont think any operator charges rental for the service ...you only pay (Rs. 3 in case of RIM) for the SMS which shows you the missed call numbers!raccoon 'dolphin' has the option which allows u to pay Rs. 25/p.m. and receive the alerts for free. It also gives the option of paying 1/per msg. so u can choose
-
