Even though it has a RUIM slot, since you say it is locked to Verizon Wireless network, it won't work with Reliance then. You will have to change the settings to make it work with Reliance (which is illegal and out of scope of being discussed here I guess).

Afterall we pay for CLIP these days, so telecom companies cannot claim that we are not paying for it ! I hope they do not end up charging us even for missed calls in the future !!!

Is it still in this condition ? Then it should be a problem with the handset. Have you tried switching it off, removing the battery, insert the battery after sometime and switched it on ? If it still doesn't work, the ASC should check it and fix it for you, such cases should be free of charge.

Are those 2 seperate applications ? If yes, try closing the other application first and check. i.e., run only one of them at a time so that the port would be free.

Consumers will now be able to inspect the costs, revenues and profits of mobile operators under different heads of services including basic, roaming and other value-added services. A regulation regarding the separation of accounts, indicating various components of cost, revenue and profit under different heads of services, was passed by Trai in 2004. Now, these accounts will be open for public scrutiny as these will be available online. Trai chairman Nripendra Mishra told ET: “The separation of accounts of mobile operators had been regulated by Trai earlier. All operators submit half yearly reports elaborating on the itemised expenditure and revenue. Now we want to place the highlights of these accounts on the public domain.” While listed companies such as Reliance, Bharti, Hutch-Essar and BSNL, among others, make their accounts public under Sebi rules, the regulation is likely to bring several small mobile operators under the public eye. Consumers will be able to review their costs of providing a service and compare it with the price of the service. In the case of roaming charges, for instance, the regulator has been contesting that the cost of the service is far lower than the price being paid for the service.

Since how long is this happenning for you ? I've seen such errors before for BSE quotes application, which does work when tried after some time. Anyway I just checked in mine, and its working fine now, but my handset uses Java - not Brew. So the problem must be happenning for Brew based ones, you may have to wait till the developers sort it out. Its pathetic that such problems are occurring when it is a paid service ! TRAI can be appoached and customers do win like how Ankur won the case against Sify, though its just a hassle to go that way.

yeah the quality is very good infact, its in mp3 format only... to get original quality of the DVD, you have to extract it as a .vob file (which is usually large in size) and you expect that to be put as a ringtone ? anyway some food for thought for all in the dialogue !!!
