  1. @ yunus: Use Total commander to replace the HTC_CM_Guardian file. And do it immediately after doing a soft reset before launching any of your other loaded softwares. Ensure all programs are closed in the task manager and then use TC to replace the file.
  2. Planning To Buy New Htc P3000

@ Dhiraj: Touch also beats Mogul hands down.....
  3. New Free Push Mail Beta Client By Seven

Update: After running it for the entire working day today, I have not missed a single mail on my phone so far. All being pushed thru to my phone real time. Response time between mail delivery in actual email client and on the phone is near perfect, varying between 5-10 seconds. Also did a test mail between myself and our fellow member PK Dagaji and we were able to get good real time responses. Would like to know how the performace will be like on other phone versions as well with regard to mail alert response and whether it is slowing down your phone, etc. If this program works as good as it actually does right now, I dont think there will be another push mail client to beat it.
  4. Importing From Usa Directly

Thanks Sadikk for the update. Just let me know what you meant by "CHA" I will message you later today for some clarifications, boss. Hope you will be able to clear them for me.
  5. New Free Push Mail Beta Client By Seven

Updating after 16 hours of usage: The software goes into power saver mode and shuts down when the Phone goes to "sleep" mode. I have tried to overcome this issue by unchecking the option of letting the program shut down when battery power is less than 20%. I know my battery is not low, but the software interprets the phone's sleep mode as being low on battery and seems to trigger the software to shut down. Unchecking the power saver option in the software seems to fix it. I will update later today on my results. PS: Seems to working fine on the Touch. If anybody has it installed on the Mogul please post your opinions as well
  6. Htc Tweaks

Ok new problem that's cropped up for me over the last few days. I have configured gmail to my Touch and use Rel MobileWorld connection to access it. Since the last two days though, I have seen this problem of being able to "Receive" my mails but I cannot "Send" mails out while using Rel MobileWorld. If I change my connection settings to Rel NetConnect though, this problem is solved and both incoming and outgoing mails work fine. Has anybody else noticed this issue of not being able to send out email while using Rel MobileWorld settings? @Dhiraj bhai: Thanks for all the R&D work yesterday, boss. I have been able to successful send out mail using Rel NetConnect settings now. But I do hope the Rel MobileWorld issue can be solved, its a more economical option
  7. Trying it out, doesnt seem to support java chat site plugins as yet. Looks good, and seems extremely user friendly.. will have to wait and see how it evolves once it goes full fledged as its still in beta right now
  8. This is an enquiry to all my fellow RIMwebians. My close friend is on the look out for a CDMA phone but here's the catch... Its got to have absolutely superb signal strength reception. In most of the phone categories we look at features like camera, mp3, pda requirements etc, but like my friend pointed out to me, first and foremost signal stength has got to be absolutely great. I know what hes talking about. At any given point in time, when I'm at this guy's office (its deep inside a building) my HTC Touch, Nokia 6265, etc have virtually no range. In such a scenario, which phone in the CDMA class has the best signal reception? I dont mind if it s fully featured high end CDMA phone,or an extremely basic one, but like I said, its main advantage should be in signal reception quality.. even if such a phone is not available in the basic models, please suggest which CDMA phone, according to you guys, has the best signal strength. Please keep in mind, I am trusting you guys on this one. Only if you are absolutely sure about quality of signal and have done comparitive analysis between atleast 2-3 models please suggest. I'm saying this because, I had told this friend of mine that I would get the best advice from our forum. Dont make this out to be a brand loyalty war
  9. Nokia N96 Review

@karki: I'm holding you to this one bro. What's your take on a face off between the N96 and the Sony Xperia??
  10. I guess its a bit of a quandry when it comes to deciding on a phone's reception quality based on a particular location. Paramaters of signal quality will vary from place to place and that alone is good enough to throw your decision haywire. I guess, I'll have to ask him to take a blind leap of faith with Treo. Not sure if that would be good though. He's not a "techie" and I dont know how impressed he would be with having a feature rich handset on which he would be using purely the "phone" component. lol Anyways, thanks guys... maybe I should look at an additional CDMA connection (Tata this time) ... and a Treo
  11. Thanks guys. @kshah: I presume the ranking you've shown is based primarily on signal reception quality?? @ani: already have GSM connections with Airtel, BSNL,and Idea and all of them have weak signals too. Specifically need new CDMA phone to use with present R eliance connection. He too is using a 6265 and its virtually useless inside his office.
  12. Complete Cdma Mobile

@ Dhiraj bhai: Waiting and watching @Ravi: I dont think tariff is that big an issue these days. If you really do a check in your local circles, there are plenty of GSM providers who have tariffs which are at par or sometimes even better than Reliance ( keep in mind, I'm basing this assumption on general call usage profiles) if you do have specific usage requirements on tariffs for comparisons vis-a-vis CDMA/ GSM providers, post it in the relevant sections of our forum, you'll be surprised with the kind of info about alternative network tariffs you'll find... Advantages of GSM: better handsets, service migration flexibility and lots more..
  13. @hitman: Did you check the box against "Receive all incoming beams" under Settings/ Beam on your phone?? You should put a tick mark in there.

  15. Here is the official Airtel pricing announcement for the iPhone!!!
  16. Is Reliance Launching Iphone 3g ?

And worst of all... everything controlled from an iTunes interface, which ****s big time. Its more of an iPod with a phone added on as an afterthought than vice versa. Voice quality, vibration alerts both are not of the highest order on the iPhone. I happened to use a iPhone for a few hours when I loaned it from a friend to get a hands on experience, I was not impressed at all!!! A phone should in the very first place, be able to work well as a phone, if that aspect is not upto the mark, what's the point in all the added gimmickery?? All the other little aspects which were touched up in the earlier posts just proves why the whole world is being swayed based on the US public opinion, who in my opinion, are the least exposed to mobile telephony and its vast market.
  17. Htc Tweaks

@skj: Please clarify a few things for me please: 1) Could you specify what error message you're getting when you try to connect to the Net. 2) When you replace the HTC_CM file which you have created with the one which is already on the phone are you getting the message asking if you want to replace the file on the phone with the new HTC_CM file? Have you been following the procedure I specified in this post? http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?s=&a...st&p=111998 Please revert back so that we can help
  18. @theking: Thanks for the upload mate. I think it needs an update though. A few mobile numbers I did a search for didnt turn up listed in it. Thanks anyways

  21. R-world / R-connect Charges

I'm on a Prepaid connection. I used RWorld to connect to the Net from my Touch on Monday and downloaded 3 email (The accounts were configured on my Touch, so I didnt use a web browser to access the mails). I called up CC yesterday and asked them to specify my charges I had incurred for using the Net with RWorld the previous day. The reply I got was that I had used 90kb data so I have been deducted 90 paise from my account. I hope that points to the fact that they're back to charging us at 10ps/10kb.
  22. Mobile Office

That works, vijay, if you're using Rev 490 version of Softmaker office 2008. @tarun: If you dont have Rev 490 version let me know, I'll try and upload it for you or give you a relevant link.
