    Lets look this in a positive angle.

    Amazon, Ola, UBER, Flikart ....... Do you think are all these companies making profit? Surely not now. They are funded by people who are having simple money in plenty (Like Soft bank from Japan)

    And we are getting good quality service from all the above companies. Right?

    So even if the prices are damn cheap and not at all viable, we will be getting quality. 

    Airtel and JIO will try to become No.1 at all costs. JIO has very very deep pockets. Airtel will also be funded by so many investors from around the world. So both will offer down to earth prices and they will also try to maintain the quality. The player who offers very low prices + quality - Will be future No.1. 

    After becoming No.1 also they will not increase the prices. Because if they increase the prices, another new player will enter. This business model will work on volumes. Everybody will have 1 or 2 phones (Whether they need it or not). So the No.1 company will be making profits regularly . Example of this is alibaba.com. They have become No.1 and still offering rock bottom prices. Due to their volume they are able to do this.

    So VOLUME VOLUME VOLUME is the key and to attain this these companies will do anything. 

    So we can enjoy (But ultimately we will pay the same amount, since we will now give phone even for our office boy :unexp:)

    I had a second number in prepaid Aircel Tamilnadu network. I had used it sparingly. For a long time, I did not use the number or top it up.And also the sim card is missing now. When I try to call this number it just has no response. Call to the number immediately gets disconnected.

    Now the number is dead. Previously the number was in Airtel and I ported it to Aircel. 

    I have tried both Aircel and Airtel offices in my town and even offered them that even connection in postpaid was ok with me. But both expressed their inability.

    How to get the number back? Is there anyway?

    I personally asked all my workers, staffs and whoever people I meet, especially electricians, plumbers, No one is suffering due to this De-monetisation. In fact they are happy this has happened. The common man and poor are happy because, they feel this move will only affect rich and corrupt people. Even if there is little inconvenience, there are ready to bear it. The long queues in banks and ATM are due to people coming again and again to get currency changed for a commission. 2 of my workers have told me that corrupt people with black money have approached them and asked them to deposit Rs,2,00,000 in their accounts and get new currency. They are promising a good commission for this.

    On the lighter side, lot of quarrels have arised between husband and wife due to this demonetisation. Many ladies secretly have lot of money, which has now come out :D

    The real problem is for people who live in small villages, which do not have a bank. For those people in short term the smaller denominations may be hard to get, but in 50 days that problem also should get solved.

    Opposition is just crying crocodile tears, and I am so dissapointed with Kejriwal.

    I very much appreciate our PM for taking such a move (Even though this may not be the 100% best thing). It needs enormous guts to do this. His thinking is good and he is risking and taking real steps to change our country. We all should stand behind him.

    This decision will further complicate things for prepaid users as they have to have monitor now 1 more pack.

    Airtel has analysed and found that only in Internet charges they can make money. So they are trying to achieve this by this ridiculous idea. Lets see if their analysis is correct or it boomerangs against it.

    For customers, the only hope now is Reliance Jio. Jio need not be very cheap. If they are reasonable and not ridiculous like other 3G players, we can see a change. With the kind of investment Jio is doing, surely they need more numbers. So surely for 3 years, I honestly feel that internet tariffs will not go up much as Airtel wants to charge

    Thanks all for your input.

    First I have contacted Airtel, since my brother is having lots of connections under corporate category. They have promised to provide the repeater free of cost. Let's see whether they do it. If they do not, then I shall try some available in the market.

    Right now there is no consistent network , even 900 MHz. So changing to network in 900 MHz will not benefit now. Even if we come outside the house we do not get any network signal continuously.

    My brother is having a house is in the outskirts of Kodaikanal (TN). There is literally no coverage for any network. All the signals come and go. Since he is having Airtel (1800 Mhz in Tamilnadu), he is asking me if any antenna or something of that sort could be installed to improve the coverage. Right now sms, data and voice calls work occasionally. Sometimes phone shows 2 or 3 bars and at that time sms could be sent and received, data will work and you can check mail. And even you can make voice calls. But suddenly signal will drop and the phone will show no coverage. It keeps on changing.

    Please suggest a solution. Budget is not a big issue.
