    for people thinking of buying motorola:

    As compared to nokia 6275 this set does not have games, fm , infrared . also price difference is of rs 750 + 250 md micrsd card .service issues apart

    moreover the display is only 65k

    Motorazr is only looks but its low on practical features.

    You'll certainly feel happy about choosing TATA for roaming.

    but kesav, tata roaming rentals are same as of any other operator

    eg. in Biz Silver plan

    incoming is 1.75

    outgoing std is 2.40

    & local call while roaming is same as local calls in home location.

    i too have tata connection but i'v opted for a value pack

    STD Jumbo

    STD calls to any phone & incoming Roaming at Re.1/min

    Monthly Rental - Rs.100

    Well, today i went to tata dealer to confirm prices. The dealer says these handsets

    are only available with new connections right now.

    Motofone f3c -> it is very beautifully designed phone, very slim, looks more like

    those MOtoSlim (L6, L7) phones.

    But the display is very different, i\'v never seen such a display on any mobile,

    calculator or elec device. Its some new display technology called \'Electronic Paper

    Display. The display is like a white background & the digits appeared on it looks more as seen on calculators.

    Anyways the phone is worth buying.

    It is priced Rs 2200/- (inclusice of 100/- ruim, 500/- security deposit)

    Radio Moto W210-> it also looks great (but not as good as motofone) but somewhere u

    get those plastic looks. Still it looks much better than many other handsets. Good features, nice colours.

    It is priced Rs 3100/- (inclusice of 100/- ruim, 500/- security deposit)

    The third handset (Radio Moto W170) was not available, the only difference between

    this handset & w210(color) is of screen (w170 has mono screen but same features as w210)

    So, i assume that it would be priced somewhere around Rs2500/- (with connection)

    I found w210 much better than Lg 3470.

    Tata has launched three new models of motorola handsets :Confuso:

    1. Radio Moto W210 -> color 128*128, ruim, fm, speakerphone, 500 phonebook, 3+hr talktime post-15120-1172254603.gif

    2. Radio Moto W170 -> mono 128*128, ruim, fm, speakerphone, 500 phonebook, 3+hr talktime post-15120-1172254628.gif

    3. Motofone F3C -> mono, ruim, only ruim phonebook, 3+hr talktime post-15120-1172254640.gif

    All phones are very good looking & sleek. i wonder if they are not locked & can be used with Rel.

    Prices not yet known. If anyone finds out plz let us know. :confuse:

    Dear friends, i do agree that RCL is not offering anything special. i m only using Rel just because of 50p call rate & free unlimited calls in my cug. The day my call rate & features on my connectin change i'll get rid of my connection.

    But on the other hand despite many good features & benefits, what GSM is offering is not also too good.

    There's always some element hidden in their plans which will surely make a hole in your pocket.

    for eg. a friend of mine opted for lifetime incoming plan on Idea, the outgoing call rate is Rs. 1.75/- & according to plan guidelines he cannot take any add-on package to reduce call rate. So, in an era when people are paying just .50p per call, it's really very expensive to pay 1.75/-.

    Moreover, among all my friends using GSM, no one has call rate as low as .50p , & if anyone have, the fixed monthly rental is as high as Rs 400.

    So, in a nutshell, GSM operaters are too intrested in only extracting money out of consumers pocket, but if CDMA prices rises to equalize with GSM , then it is worth shifting to gsm & dump your cdma connections & operators in some blackhole :confuse:

    According to tata cc & website,

    Indicom has completely withdrawn 'free incoming on roaming' feature from 15feb.

    Intially tata used to provide an add-on feature in which on can avail facility of receiving free unlimited incoming calls on roaming just by paying Rs. 150/- per month.

    Just because of this fabulus feature many people bought indicom.

    Later this feature was regulated to free incoming on roam for 750 min for a rental of Rs 100/-

    Now after changes in TRAI guidelines on roming rentals, this feature has been completely withdrawn & no such feature of free incoming on roaming exist now.

    TRAI issued strict guidelines to reduce roaming rentals just to benefit consumers but it seems that service providers are using the loopholes in the guidelines to fool both TRAI & consumers.

    The consumer is somehow made to pay more.

    you dont need to pay any monthly rental (as you said rs. 200/-), because there is not any monthly rental in Dolphin Jeewansathi Scheme. All you have to pay is only one time Rs. 450/-. after that you will exactly pay what you use. And for your information Tariff for Dolphin to dolphin 0.80p and on other network 1.20 Rs., STD is only 1.75 Rs., Additionally you will get Two way roaming in Dolphin. most of all MTNL is a trusted name not like fake reliance. If you are using reliance, just close your eyes, think about reliance, now open your eyes.......... just feel it.............

    Ya pankaj... u r right in jeevansathi scheme there is no monthly rental. I do already have a dolphon connection, but i cant change my plan to 'jeevansaathi' as it is only for new connections.

    I am only having reliance just b'coz it is giving me this one feature of free calls. Otherwise i feel that reliance have very badly designed plans & none of the plans can be considered as a complete plan as you will miss something or the other. like...

    if u have low rental than u'll have high call rate.

    if u have have low call rate, u'll have expensive sms or std....

    it s**ks one way or the other....... :winko:

    i don't know what cc says but I have NJ199 SOHO only on one connection.

    if u talk to cc 3-4 times , u might get it activated on your single connection.

    what good is 640*480 (0.3megapix) resolutin vga camera in 6235 ? 128*128 pix screen resolution. It does'nt have expandable memory neither mp3 player.

    Instead of shedding 8k on such a set i should rather recommend to spend some more & buy 6275 for 11k which is far more practical & futurastic handset. or u should invest in some low end handset.

    6235 would be considered value for money if its priced between 5-6k. I believe its overpriced.

    Is NJ199 SOHO available without CUG?

    I mean as u said you took the plan on 2 phones. The minimum number for CUG is 3 phones.

    What are the call charges between the Jodi phones now.

    Ya, NJ199 SOHO is available without cug as now i have this plan only on 1 number & i'v changed the plan for other number.

    (although when i bought the connection i had nj199 activated first on both handsets, later on i changed plan of one connection to NJ199 soho & after few days i got the other connection's plan changed. This means that initially i had NJ199 soho activated only on one handset.)

    Between the two phones unlimited calls are completely free (ofcourse in local circle) but u have to buy two new conenctions with new handsets.

    But what surprises me the most is that no one in cc knows about 'Jodi offer', though these connections were sold in Delhi like hot cakes :Contento:

    Perhaps Dolphin is the only GSM company to provide unlimited free calling to a particular number.

    But as far as plans & call rates are concerned it gonna be an expensive affair as minimum rental in dolphin is Rs 200 in which call rate is .60p to own network & 1.20 or 1.50 to other network. Now if u use this phone for calling other numbers, your bill gonna be very high.

    6 months back i was searching for such a scheme & i bought a plan from reliance called 'Jodi offer'.

    i got 2 handsets for 2500/- (lg rd 2530).

    in this plan unlimited calls between both the numbers are free for 1 year.

    Any plan can be taken on each number. so i took

    'NJ199 SOHO'

    Rs 200 Rental

    Rs 150 free talktime on local calls

    .50p/call to any mobile number.

    None of gsm provide .50/call for so low rental. This plan proves to be very economical for me, i use this no. for all my outgoing calls.

    This plan is still available in Delhi.

    The query in this topic is becoming more complicated everyday & i m not able to find any sure shot solution.

    I planned to buy a LG3470 from reliance (which is ruim based) & use it with both Reliance & Tata. So First i went to Rel Webworld & confirmed about the prices. Then i went to Tata indicom & asked them weather i can use it with a tata ruim ? but i was told that chances are that it might work but most probably it wont work.

    Then i thought the only place where i can find the solution is LG's service centre which is authorized by both tata & rel. So i went there & asked my query, they told me that earlier lg was only selling non ruim sets. The first ruim set from lg is 3470 which has recently launched & they have'nt seen it yet & did'nt got a chance to experiment. so they exactly dont know.

    So, finally i returned without any solution.

    I dont understand why this is becoming so complicated, it's such a simple thing. why can't a cdma handset be used with other operator just like we can do in gsm ? :huh:

    noooooo, damn i just bought nokia 2865 yesterday, none of the guys at delhi WW told me about that :dontknow:

    Don't repent dude. for me, 2865 is doing great job in 6k, rather than spending almost double on chocolate. the softwares installed in 2865, esp the bluetooch remote control, is really making life much easier. ya, if LG chocolate would be at 8k, then i'd join u in :confuse: , but 11k seems much costlier just for looks, not even expandable memory. for that money, i think N6275 is a good choice.

    i do agree with ani,

    spending 11k on 6275 would be much intelligent & 'value for money' choice than spending 11k on LG chocolate, which has half the features of 6275.

    i would only buy a handset like chocolate if its priced between 7-8k.

    As you may have noticed, almost all such topics are being removed off the forum within 5 - 10 minutes. We are getting around 5 such topics per day these days, and it doesn't happen during any particular time of the day, but throughout the day. As Mr.Vista has pointed it out, these posts are created by Spambots, rather then human beings. I have mentioned about it in this topic.

    Anyway, I am planning on a "permanent" fix for this issue by not allowing new member's topics to be displayed without a moderator's approval. This will apply only for the first topic/post by a new member and once his/her first topic/post is approved by a moderator, he/she can post further without the need of approval from a moderator.

    i think your idea of moderators approval will be very beneficial in stopping such threads.

    hi,

    i m an avid visitor of rimweb.in & i log on this forum around 4-5 times a day.

    From past two days i m observing that betwen 10pm to 11pm some new members posts threads which contains unsolicited & unpermissble materials.

    for eg. on 17feb around 10:30pm someone posted a link to warez site which contained pirated & porn stuff. The link also tries to push some malware into your system. Thanx to my Antivirus !

    Even today(18feb) at the same time some new member called 'artinstituteo' posted a thread which contained links to art institutes, moreover those links were fake & direct u to some other site.

    when i checked the profile of the member it did not contaied any information except a username.

    Although both the days those threads were deleted within minutes but still i request the administrators to make sure that such incidents do not take place.

    This is a very informative forum & we require more members to exchange knowledge. But some steps should be taken to check the authenticity of the new members & make sure only genuine members join the forum.
