  1. Wanna Buy Digital Slr Camera

check jjmehta.com then reduce about 2k if you plan to pick it up in one of the camera shops at CST in mumbai hehe cheers karki
  2. Wanna Buy Digital Slr Camera

I use both, tho my personal fav is the Nikon D40x esp in the RAW mode, 10.2 MP of sheer shooting pleasure ... Battery life of Nikon outbeats canon by a huge shot The only cons with the Nikon that I've faced are ... Autofocus failure in low light and infinite range and Inablity to soothingly use non asf(x) lenses due to differences in the tether ring of the lens. cheers karki
  3. The UK Release with 3 .. we give the stylus complimentary ... but it is not part of the standarad package out there ... and the stylus is not stored in the phone
  4. I've tested this phone as it has been haunched by 3 about a month back .. .and we've had this phone in the office from then ... kewl phone ... nice interface .. the stylus is not in the phone but sold seperately .. phone shows a easy one hand operation.. cam is good ... though not comparable to an N95 at equal resolutions ... pricing - compared to international markets seems costlier here.. cheers karki
  5. X-mas Gift From Airtel

Which city are you in mate ??? Airtel GPRS did not give me any such bonus
  6. Sms To Multiple Recepients

PPC is UTS ppc6700 SKB is a software maker - and group sms send is the app ... you can possibly get that on a little googling the multi sms can be sent from handset .. if you plan to use the PC then use Jeyo SMS connect on PPC or buy a Huwaei Ec325 USB modem, convert to RuIM, and send sms from the PC (easily) .. just messaged about 3600 members of various biking clubs yesterday hehe cheers karki
  7. Sms To Multiple Recepients

In PPC you can use Group SMS sender ... there is no limit on the number of contacts to send sms to at once. cheers karki

  10. Please Recommend A Good Handset - High Budget

and to add more ... the blackberry from reliance seriously suc*s big time ... used it for a day ... Yuck ! will not touch it again ... the interface is sad ... navigation is based 99% on the scrollwhell at the side ... and for the pricing ... it sure ain't worth it.. On the other hand a PPC has expandablity par exception ... and the ease of use, and ablity to sync with anything you can dream of is something that keeps me grounded to it !. cheers karki

  15. Looks like a cross between an HTCp3300 and a Nokia E61 would wait and watch for the results - as to how they perform before even bothering to look at them... yeah the pricing sure is attractive - but that is how PDA's are priced now a days anyway.
  16. BIRTHDAY WISHES!

    Thanks a zillion honest
  17. Gps

OK ... will try to explain in depth ... You have 2 modes of connection - D-GPS or GPS and A-GPS D GPS - is a direct GPS where you are right under the sky and you can get your co-ordinates (Alt, Lat and Lon, Velocity etc) A GPS - is where you use the trico-ordinate of the service provider and calculates your position accurately For the co-ordinates no data transfer is needed as in both the cases the GPS device is getting just co-ordinate information from the source (satellite or base station) - Anyway if you have noticed there is location information streamed to your phone all the time - so the co-ordiantes from the network base station aint really a concern. Now - the maps and softwares you can either pre-download the maps - in which scenario - you'll no longer need to be connected to a network to download the maps ... but I prefer using google maps where I am continiously connected to the Google maps server and real time maps are streamed. If you have any further queries - please shoot. cheers karki
  18. Gps

well to be honest with you ... I've used garmin and sifr star III, and both are awsome.. Accurate to the last detail .. but somehow the accuracy I get on google maps is awsome .. and guess what .. if you have an unltd data plan - nothing like it ... awsome coverage from airtel in mumbai - mah - goa so no concerns (yeah .. I use it on my HTC P3300) . Mapking is equally good. might work out cheaper than satguide. But let me warn you incosistencies in high speed travel - especially above 160 kmph - mapking starts to give data slightly off the position. Googlemaps has been more than accurate even in such speeds. Other than that you can download maps from http://garminmapsearch.com/ or http://mapcenter.cgpsmapper.com/catalogue.php?country=102 The maps can be loaded on gpsVP which is a freeware WM5 software - JGI. The said software is also quite reliable - even with raster maps. You can use any BT enabled GPS device and you just need to pair the PPC with the device to enable and start the maps. Recommendation will be to pick up a two way BT enabled GPS from garmin so that you can use AGPS in situations where you are not directly under the sky or when you need a quick but accurate positioning. if you have any further queries - shoot cheers karki
  19. Please Help Me

You can also try jack the ripper in this case - darn good for BF algos as XORed chars are based on number positions. Try getting the same from blackcode. cheers karki
  20. Extraordinary Photograph!

    awesome
  21. Gps

nope ... it is GPS compatible .. but does not have the hardware ... you can pair it with any sifr star 3 GPS unit / TOMTOM / Navicore / Garmin etc. .. But as such the handset does not have GPS capablities cheers karki
  22. BIRTHDAY WISHES!

Belated Wishes to Ganesh and Honest both into the 30's hehe cheers karki
  23. Rimweb - Mumbai Meet -IV

Hi Rimwebian's, Time for yet another meet i'm sure ... we've waited long for this .. Planning on a Rimweb Mumbai meet ... and this time it will not just be mobiles and food ... we'll have bikes, cars and what not .. There is a lot in store for the ones who can make it ... and above all ... if my discussions go well ... we might even get a few freebies The venue, date and time will be intimated here ... but in the mean time request all interested to leave a message here ... or PM me .. Already I have 2 people who have opted to sponsor a part of the meet ... so it sure is gonna be a dhamaal!!!!! cheers karki
  24. Please Recommend A Good Handset - High Budget

I sure do understand where you're coming from - but I do prefer carrying 2 or more handsets - as they offer me more options / features compared to just relying on one. For Eg. I was down in Pune on Sat night - and was mugged and one of my mobile was stolen ... help at hand - my second handset . Reliance does offer you good speeds / data capablities - but if you believe in using the phone in a penny wise pound foolish manner then ... well even reliance will suffice - coz if you plan to use any kind of SIP / VoIP over the phone which you would gradually - I would recommend you to use a unlimited data plan ... and that aint reasonably priced. But if you insist might I recommend you to kick in a little moolah and go for the PPC 6700 and an unlimited browsing plan cheers karki
