  1. Reliance Netconnect Activation Problem

Hi Shuvabrata, Good to hear ur connection is now ON. PCMCIA is also a good choice. Just for ur information, the USB-Modem comes with 2 things inside the package : 1) Cable 2) USB connector You're right ..its a mess using the Cable. I am using USB connector...which fits in just like a PCMCIA card. Please do post ur feedback on the Browsing speed. Thanks, Bob
  2. Reliance Netconnect Activation Problem

Hi Hitman, As such there is no difference between the two. Only advantage USB-modem has is that, it can used both on ur PC as well as Laptop. On the other hand PCMCIA can be used only on ur laptop. Let me know if you need any more info.. thanks, Bob
  3. Reliance Netconnect Activation Problem

Hi Shuvabrata, That's strange. Your Card should have been activated within few hrs (3-4 hrs). As for me...i purchased it in evening around 6.00pm, and it was activated well within few hrs ( as the Web world guy told me ). By 9.00 pm i was browsing Net. I suspect that your New Connection application hasn't been loaded into by the Web world into the System. or may be its being loaded but might be in Queue. I remember, while was purchasing my Card...a guy came in there and was complaining the Staff for not activating his connection for last 10 days. I talked with that guy, and he told me that he was promised on activation done in few hrs. He kept on complaining over the phone, and with no success... he had to visit the Web world personally. Finally, the Staff told that they will asap! process their connection application.... as they haven't loaded his connection request due to workload. So, i suggest you to go again to the same web world,...and see if they have loaded your application into their system or not. I had my connection application loaded into their system before my eyes..only after that i left the web world, as i wanted urgent connection. May be this could help you....let us know. ps : In other forum post ..we discussed abt PCMCIA card & USB modem. Can you tell me..why you went for ZTE-PCMCIA card. Just curious to know Thanks, Bob
  4. Hi Shuvabrata, There is no difference between the speed. Plz be rest assured on that. Both are same in terms of speed...except that they differ in how they are used. I went for USB Modem Datacard, coz it gives me freedom to use it both on my PC as well as Laptop. Just plug it in to your Laptop/PC USB port....and enjoy!. Works same on both. As for PCMCIA, it can be used only on your Laptop. You can't use it on PC. So i will highly recommend you USB-Modem. And go for Reliance...look no furthur. Reliance's the best at present. Let me know, if you need any more info.. Thanks, Bob
  5. Hi, I am using Reliance Netconnect Datacard for past 2 months. Initial cost was Rs. 3,500 ( USB Modem) + Rs. 389 ( New no. ) = Rs. 3,889. My Plan is PLatinum ( Rs. 1500 / month ). During the day time i am getting speed around 14-16 KB/sec. But after evening..i get around 15-20 KB/sec. I think its decent speed, if i compare it with Hutch & Airtel. Before going for this connection i personally went for a demo by Airtel. Honestly, the speed was pathetic. The Google page took more than a min to open. You can't do even normal browsing with ease...forget about big downloads. Since both hutch & airtel use same tech, i guess more or less both of them will be same in performance. Costwise....Airtel provides Unlimited connection for Rs. 999. But its worthless if you dont get even good speed for normal browsing. I didnt checked the Tata connection..coz they dont have any Unlimited Plan in Delhi. So my option was Reliance & Airtel. With my Research on Wireless conn through Online forums in India, ..clearly suggested that CDMA is far better than GPRS & EDGE as of now. May be in future this thing changes after 3G comes in. So in terms of Speed & connectivity i would Rate... Reliance first, then Tata indicom, then..may be Hutch & Airtel. So, in all i will recommend Reliance Netconnect ..coz its has decent speed , Datacard charges are less compared to others, a no. of plans to choose from. ps : Reliance Download-Speed Sample ( During Afternoon - Peak Hours ) attached Thanks, Bob
  6. Slow Netconnect Speed On Rim

Netbooster is simply useless, as others say in forum. Images are compressed, hence look blurry. It doesn't increase the speed, but makes it slower instead . Donn try it...a waste of time.
  7. Netconnect

Hi Vinod, Do this: 1) Goto Start=>All Programs=>Accessories=>Communications=>Network Connections 2) On left menu bar, click "Create new connection". * Click Next * Select "Connect to Internet". Click Next * Select "Setup connection manually". Click Next * Select "Connect using a Dial up Modem". Click Next * Select your Modem "Nokia 6235". Click Next * Enter ISP name..anything you like, say Reliance. Click Next * Enter Phone No. : #777. Click Next * Enter Username & Password = Your Mobile No. Same for both. Click Next * Select Add shortcut to Desktop, and click Finish. 3) So you're done with a New connection dialer. 4) After creating it, Right Click on My Computers on Desktop 5) Then from the menu...select Properties 6) Select Hardware Tab 7) Click Device Manager 8) In the new window, select Modems => Select "Nokia 6235 USB". Double Click on it. 9) In the new window, select Advanced Tab. 10) Under Extra Initialization Commands , enter this text : +crm=1;+cso=33 11) Click OK, and close Device manager windows 12) Done, open the dialer on the Desktop..and connect. Incase it fails Try Username, password by entering a Zero (0) before your mobile No. I hope this helps. If not contact Rel Customer care...they will guide you more better. best of luck! Thanks, Bob
