1. I bought a digital camera (digcam sounds shorter and more convenient) yesterday. A Kodak CX7300, 3.2 MP, prints upto 11" x 14" decently, and loads of simple features. A camera for the entrant into digital photography. For the price I got it (Rs. 6100), it was a pretty good deal. I would like to see this forum expand, because digcams are cheaper than ever. Things that would look good here - tips on buying, reviews of various models (multiple reviews of the same model would be great), what to watch out for, how to use tips-and-tricks, and of course the all important suggestions on maintenance. Keep clicking!
2. Actually, I want that my PC should automatically connect to the internet at specified times, and disconnect at a specific time too. It would be beneficial if it coud redial too, in case of disconnection. I want to download at night, so please somebody come up with some ideas of any software that can fulfil my needs.
3. Try this - go to device manager, disable, then enable the modem. Usually works to avoid most errors.
4. Lg Lsp 340e R Connect Issue

Well Ankur, USB cables with the LSP-340E have always been a problem. One of my friends is facing a problem wherein the phone keeps disconnecting for now reason whatsoever, and very often the connection just dies out (as in your case). This needs to be told to Reliance customer care technical section. File a complaint (and make a note of the number too).
5. For the first time I saw an ad of digital cameras on TV. I am not a regular TV-watcher, but I am quite sure that digital cameras have not been aggressively advertised in India as yet. So when I saw the Canon IXUS series ad, I was impressed to say the least. Next question is, any more information on what are the various models, and what is the price range like?
6. The budget seems for a home-user type. My suggestion is as follows - the cameras that you can afford are from Nikon, Canon, Olympus and Kodak, and the quality is in that order itself, with Nikon being the best in digital. Go preferably a better quality camera with lesser features if you do not intend to use it professionally. Else, vice-versa.
7. Hi, Nice to be able to impart knowledge to someone about digital cameras. Well, I have a Kodak CX 7300. Its one of the ideal price/performance cameras available. My suggestion is - first be sure what you want the camera for. Second, what is your budget? Once you tell these things, choosing a camera is much easier.
8. Great, so thats how people view phones, as cameras! Lol.
9. I'm really sorry to hear about your digcam. One word of advice, its easier for mobiles to be stolen, and thats exactly what you are about to buy...
10. Suddenly the digcam market is booming. There are now a host of models available, and the best is the sub-15K category, when talking of value for money. As a matter of fact, that could well be called as a sub-13K category, because a lot of cameras are around 13K in price. Any specific model which offers GREAT value for money?
11. Internet Usage Calculation

Hello Vishal and Everbody else. it seems for RConnect Data Exchange's unbilled usage count is updated when i logout and login again(if i have realy used above one MB within that). or it is updated when i logout from Relience billing site and disconnect from internet and conect again and login again to Relience billing site, i don't know exactly but when i checked my usage first time it was 312 MB but after some time i checked again my usage and this time it was 317 MB, i want just to inform you that Relience is updating our usage more than once in a day, 30235 I have been following the data shown on my "Unbilled Usage" area. Almost everyday, the layout changes. And yesterday, my usage was 500 MB. Today, its back to 0 !!! When will Reliance utliize the money they have been paid. What sort of programmers are at work I wonder...?
12. Internet Usage Calculation

Dont know what these people are upto. Its been months since I shifted to the Freedom plan, and I still am unable to activate my ricmail.com ID. So the RConnect usage monitor might be just as (in)efficient!
13. Internet Usage Calculation

I had been noticing for the past many days that the 'unbilled usage' section was undergoing changes. For a while, they had a link for 'RConnect Unbilled Usage'. Then they removed it. Now they have put it separately - Voice and Data. However, my RConnect Usage date is five days old, and the usage is ZERO. Is this a flaw that could be exploited? Memories of the prepaid FREE RConnect usage are still fresh. Is it now time for FWP/FWT users to enjoy the benefits of technical glitches during upgradation?
14. Rconnect Dialer With Spyware!

Firstly, the problem you mentioned will happen using any internet connection. Spyware can encroach on your system if you do not use a proper anti-virus. So the best thing to do is to use a properly updated anti-virus, and a firewall (Windows ICF, default with XP SP-2 is ideal). So, ALWAYS use an anti-virus, and make sure that its updated regularly. I use Kaspersky, and find it the best of the lot.
15. Tweaking R-connect

Technically speaking, yes, RConnect offers much better speed than BSNL. However, as in my case, I often face problems with connectivity, etc. Also, a friend of mine says that in Chandigarh, the speed hardly ever goes above 80kbps, while in Delhi its usually above 100kbps. So all in all, RConnect is good as long as it works properly.
16. Internet Usage Calculation

I still find Magitime to be very very useful, and totally free. The number of options it gives, and the detailed reports are something very convenient.
17. Most of the digcams available today, especially the sub-15K category, dont have option of fitting any other lens. So the inbuilt zoom (whether optical or digital) is all that people have to put up with.
18. Internet Usage Calculation

I found Magitime after going through this very discussion. Its amazing, very simple and I'm totally totally satisfied with it. Amazingly accurate too.
19. Thats true indeed. And even if one invests some amount in a digcam w/optical zoom, there is a big chance that the zoom will be 3x. Thats too little to make any real difference. Digital zoom is pathetic, even Photoshop is no complete solution for it.
20. Beep!beep!beep!

Thanks a real lot, Vishal. Lets hope this keeps working. No more PC restarts... how can I thank you. Thanks a lot once again, anyway.
21. Also, the issue of battery usage is a serious one. My experience is that the LCD is not such a battery seeper as is the flash. With flash I manage around 20 pix at 3.2MP, while I get 50 without flash. LCD usage is kept appropriate, I'm getting into the groove and avoid checking my pictures too much right then and there. My batteries are simple Sanyo rechargables (700mAh). The 2100mAh batteries come HIGHLY recommended from all quarters, but are a tad costly. 4 batteries plus the charger would leave one poorer by anything between 550 to 900 rupees. This is also a good topic of discussion.
22. Hmmm, I got the thing about the "self-timer mode". Still, the small and handy tripod I mentioned should be neat. I found one online - its by SONY, and is rather small, appropriate for positioning the camera rather than adjusting the height or anything. However, the price ranged close to Rs. 1000, and thats too much for such a small tripod.
23. Beep!beep!beep!

For this problem U can try two things: 1. Try to place the phone to get a better signal(no large metal objects nearby.; Place it near a window/away from wall etc) 2. Goto Device manager and diable->enable Ur USB->Serial port and the virtual modem. A custom application can be written too to do this avoiding painful reboots. 29355 Well, I am using COM (serial) cable with my LSP-340E. The "out of service are" problem is getting on my nerves. To add to it, sometimes my connection is as good as dead, and no data exchange takes place. The solution suggested - "go to Device manager and disable/enable some things"... well, I would be glad to but I could not find either a "USB-->Serial port" or a "virtual modem" for that matter. PLEASE HELP!!! Technical lingo is more than welcome PLEASE. I am a comp engg so tweaking around the system should be easy once I get pointed in the right direction. PLZ...
24. Beep!beep!beep!

I've got a more unique case - my phone keeps going out and into the 'service area' at times. Each time this happens, I have to restart my PC. It gets really bugging at times. Has anybody else faced this problem? Any solutions, suggestions?
