well guys its not as simple as they. those music are copyrighted.. that means the composer or the recording co, whoever has the ownership can sue the provider for giving ringtones. theoritically, anu malik could be suied by many ppls. its just like books or movies for eg, recently there was a russian character similar to harry potter. and the court ruled in favour of J.K.Rowling. a similar case is when director directed a tamil move which was a copy of a malayalam movie. without the permission of the orginal director or producer.... in the same way the music is an intellectual property of the composer or the recording co, so if they think they could have a lot of benifit then they can sue. but in the case of reliance it is unfair, because the ring tone cannot be transfered to other phones like in GSM, so each of us have to download it from r-world each time we want it.... so reliance should give the music cos some amt so that they can put it on r-world.... after all it would come to only a small percentage when compared to the usage of r-world something i picked up from some mag. ppl in villages and rural area are using r-world more than those in cities.....

well it stays on for me too, but i dont usually listen to songs that much, but even then i dont lose power that much. so it has to be some prob with the battery

which hand set r u using? in my handset i can change it from display/backlight and set it for a certain time or turn it off completly.. but if ur battery isnt lasting long then u better show it to the service.. i once saw a guy getting a replacement battery just because his bar was going down after making a few calls. they didnt even check the battery... but it was during a service camp. but it would be worth a visit. better get the battery replaced while its under gurantee...

ok, that solves the prob its 26 at day and 12 at night 10 paise is only is isp charge/min.... and bout that extra phone, i think its available in other sdca also, i recall seeing it on paper. here it was around the 500 figure mark. and extra cal charge too i think. try to check it out at the bsnl website

i dont know how u got the 10 paise/min. today i asked bout it at webworld and they said it was Rs.26/hour daytime and 12 at night

lol, i think they felt the same way bout me, when i was there constantly telling them my bill hasnt come and asking them my current bill amt. anyway i dont know how much u have given as deposit, the minimum would be 1000 for local deposit, and the max would have been 3000 for isd. now u dont have to have a deposit, so just go to the webworld and ask them to adjust that amt to ur next bill onwards. you just have to sign a form, thats all.... they wont pay us back that amd.... think bout all the money they r making with such amounts....... earlier we had talked bout paisas, but now its thousands, which the early subscribers had to pay

i took the plan very early i had to pay 1000 as local and another 1000 as std deposit. that amt is still with them but i asked them to deduct my bill amd from that. so i am not paying any money except rent to reliance

i had read that post earlier, but i didnt get an answer as to what kind of no: i would get. just a vague reply. just answer me this. 0484-3108579 what will that no change to when the new no plan takes place

when r they planning to give broad band service? what is the expected rent? what is the speed? does anyone have any idea bout it?

hello neel, and welcome to the forum i once went to webworld and checked the speed from there, and i got bout 5 kbps... it might be avg speed. but those of us who use cable it doenst give extra speed, when we want to download something fast, and at present the rates offered by bsnl is very cheap. i think their latest offer is a new landline connection for internet and a certain amt as rent, and then the call carge to 17 no is 60 paise for 3 mins or so... so its more cheaper. reliance is charging 40 ps per minute.. but i cant really say an opinion, i guess the opinion of those who have used it recently like you would be more valuable.

both the post sounds interesting.... do you really call for 400??? my monthly calls comes to below 200 and for the past 5 months i have had negative balance, because they have been taking the amt from the deposit i gave.... and chirag... what u said was really hilarious... i am sure the cust. care guy felt like a fool. im sure he must have cursed himself for taking up that call..... lol

well i dont know how they r going to solve it. whenever i go to another service area, for eg. i leave ernakulam and go to shertallai, which is an adjusent town, i get the message leaving service area followed by entering service area. my doubt is this... if the signals are strong everywhere, and i enter into another area then would i get disconnected when im entering new service area? i think i might have mentioned this before somewhere in the forum

i have been checking my unbilled info quite regularly. when i started checking the amt was 146.5 it then moved to 147.7 and then a sudden move to 151.5 but it has been still since then i have made a few calls yesterday but even then the amt has not changed. it should hav been updated yesterday... when i went to webworld the guy there, with whom im quite friendly said that i shouldnt take that figure seriously. has anyone else been tracking their figure?

i think i read a post bout some handsets not able to get r-bill. i think arun knows more about it. but i got the handset very early, and i had rbill before i updated the software.... must be some other reason.... try showing it to the service center and if the prob persists then maybe u can get a replacement

the hindi coming up could only be because those charactors were added to dictionary. which proves one more thing. the lg handsets are able to incorporate language in sms, it just wasnt included with the software.... u can get an update or if ur hand set is upto date then just get it flashed. it will reset the dictionary. so the prob with hindi will be sloved and if they say tht its the fault of the handset then get them to change the handset. btw i didnt understand wht u meant bout switching ur rbill application on ur handset.... what exactly did u mean?

hi i would suggest that u search bazee, i found an item priced at Rs.400. there were over 300 items which matched the search criteria for "data cable". or else u could send a pm to rockyj123 and find out where he bought it from.... but i doubt if u would get it for 150 coz, because the handset is costly they would increase the cost of accessories.....

hi, i used to log into yahoo messenger earlier, but it was such a messy affair. i rather like the service offered by yahoo mobile to other GSM mobiles. in the case of reliance u have to check for new messages, u wont be alerted when u get new message. also u have to be on r-world for this service. in GSM it is based on sms. when someone sends u message on yahoo, u will get an sms with the message. but some ppl get the service on reliance, but only in some areas in north india.... im waiting for it to come here. also waiting for rediff tooo...

i dont understand why this is necessary, currently i have a 10 digit no: 484-3108579? why should it be changed. if the new no is adopted then i will have 12 nos. difficult to remember isnt it? and even if the district code was removed i wont be having 10 digits, only 9.... am i missing something here?

hi i have seen data kits listed on bazee, and now i have come across one on this forum. The orginal price for LG RD 2030 is Rs.1200/- but the person i contacted was selling it for Rs.500/-. so what i want to know is 1. is this legal? 2. is the kit orginal? 3. does the kit work(if it is not orginal)? 4. is it cost effective considering the current speed on Reliance when compared to other ISPs? to the last question what i think is for those of us who have cable connection it is not at all benificial. if the speed was higher then it would have been effective atleast to use up the free minutes i have left over each month. (last month i had 240 mins free). btw, when Reliance say 115 kbps do they mean kilo bytes or kilo bits? if it is kilo bits, then its worthless last i heard the connection charge from BSNL is very low, and its giving pretty good speed... so what do u ppl think bout it?

thats pretty good speed.. which handset r u using? also which SDCA are you in? r u getting the speed when downloading or did u test it? can someone test it on pcpitstop and tell me what kind of speed ur getting along with other details like time of testing( if possible test it at different times), ur handset, and ur SDCA thanks
