  1. This is the benefit of Sky, BSkyB has world class TV service which Tata can use, have used Sky and Sky+ and the same products are being offered here as TataSky and TataSky+.
  2. ^ It would be west bengal circle.
  3. MNP Retention Offer You Received

I am on onnet 770 plan and was offered lower tariff plan with same feature but they did not call back.
  4. L1 is Dead.... get a Life

What is the onnet network usage MB?
  5. Go Vegan

^ Regarding the video above. This is what is called battery farming wherein animals live in very enclosed space and are ill treated during their life, this is cruelty. In the west battery chickens are no longer encouraged and whereever possible organic food products are used. The video is extremely disturbing and most likely from an undeveloped country.
  6. Go Vegan

I appreciate your effort and though am an omnivore eat mostly vegetarian food now but humans are omnivores and our digestive tract is not like a herbivore. Eating meat does not contribute to global warming, in fact there is nothing called man made global warming. There is climate change true but not warming, more cooling, and it has not been linked to anthropogenic reasons. It has been conclusively proved global warming is myth. There might be a valid point that rearing the animals require grain which could be used for consumption but that could also easily be countered because the amount of grain left to rot so that prices remain stable/used for generating fuel is significant. Infact industrialized farming is one of the big reasons of losing forest cover, if the human population only depended on non meat food then farming would need to increase manifold and forests would vanish. Most food processing industries in the developed world use humane processes like stunning before execution. Sadly in third world countries that is not priority.
  7. ADAG Blames Rumours as Stocks Tank

^ That is true but he had no other option, the US effectively asked him to move out when Obama refused to back him. The region will now move from autocracy to Iran like religious extremism, bad for Israel, US, India etc.
  8. ADAG Blames Rumours as Stocks Tank

Hosni Mubarak has just left the country, expect markets to move up on cue.
  9. Portability Of Health Insurance Policies From July 2011

HIP rather, acronym for health insurance portability. Cool for branding, Q: how are you? A: HIP.
  10. Updated : Wireless Subscribers In India

This was before MNP which has seen them lose bigtime.
  11. L1 is Dead.... get a Life

    ^ As in? Kindly share.
  12. There should be fines levied. These are big operators and they are not willing to contribute to national telecom coverage growth.
  13. Good one. By the way why is voicemail not so popular here, is it because of high charge or our culture of giving missed calls?
  14. Sholay Contest !

Brilliant stuff Rajan +1 is not enough.
  15. Phone Engaged when using Data

^ 1x takes precedence over voice so only way for voice and data together is use EVDO if possible as mentioned by gurus above.
  16. Airtel Money

^ Sorry should I edit the post?
  17. Airtel Money

The idea is good but depends on implementation, similar has been implemented in first world countries already. Major telecommunication operator came up with something called ewallet which created a virtual wallet for a customer's broadband, voice and any other VAS services. It was a converged real time billing system. If done properly it is good but the concerns raised in this post show it will not work here. Will share a thing which happened with this due to fault in the code. The customer tried to recharge for 5 rupees for 5 times, out of which 4 times he did not get confirmation SMS due to network issue, note that transaction was processed but confirmation SMS was not sent. Then the customer tried for 5th time and got confirmation SMS. Instead of getting confirmation for 5*5 25 rupees, the system fault debited his account with 5^5 3125 rupees. Going by the comments given here, Airtel will be inspired and leave many such faults in the code.
  18. He dismissed as a "silly judgement" a question whether the arrest of a former Minister in the UPA government showed that the dispensation was corrupt. ^ Of course why would any sane person ask such a "silly" question? They should know without asking that the entire political clan is corrupt. 1 lakh 76 thousand crores. Would have solved the nation's food problems, infrastructure problems, education problems, but why would politicans think about that, it is "silly" to think like that. We need an Egypt like revolt. Pity India is too big and too many region divisions, the politicians know that.
  19. The Most Awaited MNP Finally Introduced!

So RCOM lost 55K customers for CDMA and GSM. Good progress. Will free up network for RGSM users.
  20. Will the money taken be returned else this is also scam arrest with no value.
  21. They will need to find a way of offering voice too. Data alone will not win over the market. Why is RIL not sharing RCOMs existing infrastructure, it would speed up time to launch.
  22. Hi Kesav ji, no offence but points mentioned were valid. RCDMA is seen as cheap since Rs 501 scheme they launched, and abundance of low end handsets but no mid range or premium handsets. RCDMA does not promote BB or data services as much as GSM operators do. Call timer issue was valid in initial days and people used battery pull. There is a general perception CDMA is not beneficial as it ties down the user with locked handset, this has resulted in low growth for TI and RCDMA. They could have actually used this to their advantage by giving high end network locked handsets with bundled tariff - with no upfront payment for handset. This would have built up huge premium customer base. RCDMA has failed to be number 1 inspite of better network, and inherent advantage of CDMA technology. I do not know if CC of GSM players are good but it is for sure that RCDMA CC should be better. Sorry this is off topic.
  23. Can We Go Any Cheaper?

They offered free calls on Skype on their network, others would never as it would reduce revenue, but by having tieup with Skype three actually sold more network locked phones so Skype and three profited. Some management guy once told me that is how Hutchinson works, see Orange and Vodafone, they started it, built big brand, sold it for profit, built new brand. Not sure about Videocon, they have their presence in mobile network plus service which is advantageous, but they need pan India footprint and aggressive tactics like MDA RIM did.
  24. Can We Go Any Cheaper?

Takes cheap to a new level. BTW three are always trendsetters, it is the way Hutchinson works.
