1. Pathetic Broadband

Broadband in india s**ks bigtime . When the TRAI said that only connections above 256Kbps could be called broadband . Sify did jump into the bandwagon only to place a 150MB cap during the day . 150MB .....???? that can be dlaoded in a paltry 90 minutes with that connection . Even though night times are free sify resorts to session expiries . Who is gonna reconnect at 2 in the morning . The dialer whose setup size increased from 4MB to a huge 8MB has really nothing much to offer .That darn thing dosent even have an auto reconnect feature . 8MB and no auto reconnect ??? . neway until the higher ups really take some initiative into providing broadband to the customers (which i doubt they will ever do) .Broadband in india will only be good for surfing the net
2. Vsnl, Tata Oppose Broadband

3. Broad Band In Pune

Yes, that is a re request but i put it in for the speed i used to get when i used n4i 154KBps ...... And btw intresting to know that u run an irc server can u tell me which one Here in my lan we get speeds upto 10MBps........... 10.83 MBps is my personal record I have a screenshot of that one too 39183 10.83MBps? which means 10 Mega Bytes per second which makes 86.64mbps whereas the maximum speed for the lan card is 100mbps. And as per to my knowledge what Americans are getting in their homes are T1 lines which is much faster, which is actually 1.5mbps broadband line. To advice for a recheck, dont go for these statistics which you are showing in your screen shots. Try here, http://www.bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/ and show me the screen shot from this site. Cheers 39333 Man i was talking about my lan , 10.83MBps is the speed that we get over the lan on not on the net . Our lan uses fiber optic cables that have a capacity of 150Mbps and can take a lot of traffic . the fact that i got 10.83MBps means that my 10/100 Ethernet card was streched to capacity. the previous screenshot that i posted is of the speed i was getting off the net . net4india had a 2.5Mbps line dedicated to our lan and there was no fixed speed guarantee . anybody who installed their dialer and had a username and password had access to all of the bandwidth . The reason that i got such speeds was that maybe nobody was using the net at that time . I would have been getting 10Kbps had there been many ppl who were using the net at that time , but luckily for me that was never the case.

8. Why Is Sify Capping My Bandwidth?

I've been using sify broadband for about 2 months now.I am using a 96Kbps UNLIMITED plan @995 Rs and what i have been observing is that sify caps of my speeds to about 40-48 Kbps after i download in excess of 100MB per day. The sify customer care executive in mumbai also agreed that sify was capping my speeds . Have anyone of u guys also experienced such underhand tactics from sify.
9. Why Dont We Get BroadBand Speeds in India?

Its true Guys BROADBAND inIndia still seems to be a distant dream to me. MTNL came out with its broadband connections a few days back but again the download limit spoils the purpose . Well u can check this link and sign on the petition if u wish to. http://www.petitiononline.com/trai/ Till then lets hope that we get to see broadband asap
10. Why Dont We Get BroadBand Speeds in India?

Well guys i just want to know why we cannot have good net speeds in India , I am using Sify broadband where they claim to give me a 96Kbps connection with no download limits but sify always caps off my speed after a fixed amout of time , they are charging me Rs 995 for this connection which i feel is a total rip-off. I had recently been to singapore where my cousins had a 1.5mbps connection with no data transfer limits and it was extremely consistent. all they paid was about Rs 1600. Well can ne one tell me why we cannot have such connections even though everyone seems to be talking about india emerging as a global IT market etc etc.
