  1. Lg Vx9800 Ev-do Communicator

Verizon Wireless announced the new LG VX9800, a QWERTY keyboard equipped handset. The VX9800's spec sheet is pretty impressive. It offers a 1.3 megapixel camera, built-in stereo speakers, 12MB of internal RAM with a miniSD expansion card slot, and a MP3 player. The camera includes a business card read function. For the messaging system, there is also a text to speech function. Unlike the F9100 that used the same display for the keypad and keyboard, the VX9800 opens up like a communicator to reveal a larger, separate display for use with the keyboard. The large internal display is a 320x256 pixel 262k color unit. The external is a smaller 160x128 pixel 65k color unit. Specifications for the LG VX9800 Band CDMA 800/1900Mhz Data EV-DO/1xRTT Size 116mm x 50mm x 25mm (4.57" x 1.97" x 1.00") Weight 147g (5.2oz) Battery Life Up to 8.3 days standby time, Up to 4.16 hours talk time Main Display 262k color TFT, 320x256 resolution Sub-Display 64k color TFT, 160x128 resolution Camera 1.3 megapixel with flash, close-up mode Video Video capture/playback at 15fps Messaging MMS/EMS/SMS Email Yes (POP/IMAP/SMTP) Bluetooth Yes (headset, hands free, DUN) Polyphonics -72 voice stereo Memory 128MB, miniSD slot expansion Availability September 26th, 2005 (Verizon's network in US) QWERTY keyboard, MP3 player, Business card reader app, Text to speech, USB data, Airplane mode *****Removing on of the pic**********
  2. Look at what happened to my Rconnect today !

It does happen at times...I constantly get 16-19 KB/s which surges upto 25KB/s during night hours at times. @spdf -- It can not be broadband testing..as you have to have the handset supporting EV-DO, the mobile broadband technology for CDMA networks.
  3. Nokia 6265 CDMA Launched on Reliance Mobile now !

Hey Mohsin...don't take it personal, no hard feelings. Even I posted that by March it will be launched, which was again a news given to me by a senior person at Reliance Delhi. I just meant that the dates seems to be speculations only...
  4. Email And Instant Messenger Service Providers

for me...GMAIL For emails, I rate Yahoo as second preferences, Hotmail as third if at all I have to, and Rediff...I would better survive without an email rather than using it, simply crap. As for IMs, I vouch for Skype. None of the above.
  5. Nokia 6265 CDMA Launched on Reliance Mobile now !

What a big deal....King of kalyan mentioned 6th of April as well as the launch date. All speculations so far it seems.
  6. Some one requested for the fana mp3 ringtone. Not sure if the ringtone from the yet to release movie 'Fanah' was requested or the fana song from Hum ko deewana kar gaye. Anyway, I am posting here the Fana song from HDKG, original and remix, and also Bombai Nagariya from Taxi no 9211. Anyone want to have any latest ringtone in mp3 (or midi even) can request here. I will try my best to fetch the ringtone for them. Enjoy! fana_hdkg.mp3 fana_remix_hdkg.mp3 bambai_nagariya_taxi_no_9211.mp3
  7. Now several laptops are available with embedded 3G chips to provide seamless wireless data capabilities. Several Lenovo (IBM) and Dell laptops are available with this feature, all such models atleast support the CDMA 1x/EV-DO chips. Such models include Lenovo ThinkPad Z60t, Lenovo X60, Dell Latitude D620 and Dell Latitude D820. I wonder if Reliance can officially configure such a laptop on their network. I do not expect them to offer laptops anytime in the future, so they SHOULD do it without any fuss. But I know, they will not, only reply I expect from them is that we do not support handsets (no matter if its a laptop or what) which are not provisioned for Relianae network...blah..blah..blah. Anyways, I belive Indicom can. Whatever, truly an impressive beginning to integrate wireless data connectivity in devices. I also read about integrating CDMA technology with devices like Digital camcorders, GPS navigation systems and other such devices. Proceeding towards all wireless world...Truly. Cheers!
  8. Checkout These Evdo Enabled Handsets

There are several hundred devices now available on CDMA networks. Check out the following link on 3g devices available ay present. It include all devices supporting CDMA 1x/EV-DO, WCDMA and HSDPA, though most of them are CDMA. Follow the 3G Devices Link Many of you will really be surprised to see the number of high end, feature rich CDMA devices currently available. Also the different brands available. Checkout the number of devices available from LG and Samsung, many of them are really really cool. Not that the high-end handsets are not available in CDMA, there are, but sadly, none of the manufacturing company is Indian, which is one big reason why do we not have many good handsets in CDMA.
  9. Hey...thats pretty simple. I hope you have got the Nokia PC Suite. If so, just open the mp3 in Nokia Multimedia Player and save the file in amr format. 12. Great Voip Deals for ISD calls !

@akg7091 -- it is pretty simple...Make sure that the dongle identifies your bluetooth headset..if it does, follow the step below (for winxp sp2) - 1. Go to control panel anbd locate 'Sounds and Audio Devices' 2. Click on that and move to 'Audio' tab 3. Select Blutooth AV/HS audio 4. Reboot your PC (normally not required) and you are done... Now u can use ur bluetooth headset instead of the default speakers/mic. It works for all Audio Input/Output softwares, not just skype Cheers!
  13. Great Voip Deals for ISD calls !

SKYPE....it rocks....whether free or paid. Excellant voice quality, ease of use....you can easily configure bluetooth headset to use with skype on PC or laptop...
  14. Nokia 6265 CDMA Launched on Reliance Mobile now !

Dear...this is what Reliance Infocomm's spokesperson said in an interview on CNBC TV some 4-5 months back, not me. You should expect a minimum of 1 year before they launch it as the government doesn't seem too clear on their spectrum policy yet. I wish anything that I say could come true Cheers!
  15. Nokia 6265 CDMA Launched on Reliance Mobile now !

You can't compare Sprint or Verizon with merely two years old Reliance Infocomm. They are the long established telecom companies and one of the earlier entrants in CDMA technology, and that too in USA.... Moreover, deploying EV-DO require allocation of required spectrum by the government. Unless Govt is keen to have a thing like EV-DO in the country (which, considering the political messaround between AUSPI and COAI, I think will not be seen in the near future), Reliance can never think of starting service like EV-DO...Though, the internal reports say that RIM is ready with the EV-DO deployment and can launch the service in about six months period after the govt's approval. So the ball is in the Ministry of telecommunication and TRAI's court. @Peter -- It is not the 'Sprint' which is giving the 600 kbps speed, it is the EV-DO technology...and it easily peaks up to 1.2 mbps (though, theoritically the speeds can be upto 2.4 mbps). Not to mention, whenver EV-DO is launched in India....don't worry, you will also get the same speeds i.e. average 500-700 kbps...
  16. Nokia 6265 CDMA Launched on Reliance Mobile now !

Well, atleast in Delhi, this handset came for testing a long back...I am sure of this as I myself happened to be at the RIC's office at Vijaya Building when the Nokia team was there with five new models (three of which have already been launched in the meantime). So I would speculate anytime during April for its launch...It must be the pricing strategy and the negotiations with Nokia on RIM specific application suite (or u can say blocking many standard & handy Nokia features) which is causing the delay... I must say, this is going to be the most hyped handset for RIM so far...hope it delivers what it is expected to...keeping fingers crossed for early launch and reasonable price

Few of it does....like pictures, jokes etcetra
  18. Tata Indicom Plans

Chill Guys..Tata also has wide network coverage now, of course not as much as Reliance, but the way they have been expanding, they soon will have. Anyway, mind it, the network you all are talking about is the wireless (CDMA 2000 1x) network and not the wireline. As for Tata's landline in UP, it is not the wireline. They have the wireline at present only in 5 circle, which does not include UP for sure. The plan that is being discussed above is only available to the Tata's wireline subscribers available at limited areas in 5 circles at present. So guys, make sure you have the Tata wireline in your area before dreaming about the free national STD...and switching over your provider. Cheers!
  19. Tata Indicom Plans

True...this plan was available till a few months back with walky...Almost after a month after Reliance stopped new connections for Unlimited RIM2RIM calls, they stopped it too...I doubt if it is available anymore... Just a correction -- As per the websoite, this plan is applicable on wireline...and is available in select circles only. It is possible that they have introduced this plan for wireline consumers (earlier this was available with walky, which has a wider reach the wireline)

  24. There is no such technical hindrance to number portability among CDMA and GSM operators ...it is very much feasible and has already been implemeted in United States. Infact, verizon in US has rolled out the plans for number portablity with landlines as well. So there is no reason we should think that it is not possible in India. Cheers!
